Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Early morning. Sunlight woke the world.

For once, Su Zhi woke up earlier than both Yu Bao and Shan Bao. He had, after all, slept remarkably well last night. While Meditation was draining on his Spiritual Power, once he reached a certain training volume, it actually helped him sleep better.

’Should I ask her to get breakfast with me?’

Su Zhi wondered as he pushed open his bedroom door.

The living room was empty, with only the sunlight lying lazily across the sofa. The room was bathed in a soft, warm, pale gold.

An idea sparked in Su Zhi’s eyes. Without a sound, he tiptoed to Shao Ya’s room and crouched down by the door.

He couldn’t help but feel a little thrill of excitement.

She was always the one scaring him. Today, he finally had a chance to scare her back.

...

The bathroom door creaked open, and a young woman stepped out with light footsteps, just about to yawn.

When she saw Su Zhi crouched by the door like a thief, the yawn caught in her throat, and she swallowed it back down with a hand over her mouth. Her azure eyes darted about before curving into a mischievous crescent.

She slipped her smooth feet out of her slippers, placing them silently on the floor. Then, just as silently, she lifted them and padded toward Su Zhi like a cat.

The cowlick on top of her head bounced back and forth, as if it were nervous too...

The young man crouched by the door, a look of excitement on his face.

The young woman walked toward the young man, a look of excitement on her face.

Slowly, the distance between them grew shorter and shorter.

’Hm?’

Su Zhi wrinkled his nose in confusion.

’Something’s not right. Why do I smell her scent? And it seems to be coming from behind me...’

Su Zhi stared blankly as he turned around. The white-haired, blue-eyed young woman was crouched behind him, her face alight with excitement.

”OORAH!”

She pounced like a hungry tiger.

”What the—!”

Su Zhi jumped in fright, lost his balance, and fell backward onto the floor.

Shao Ya had only meant to tap his shoulder, but he had turned around so quickly that she instinctively planted her hands on the floor on either side of Su Zhi’s shoulders to brace herself.

Her waterfall of bright white hair, which she hadn’t had time to tie up yet, cascaded down, a few strands brushing against the tip of his nose.

In that moment, his entire vision was filled with her long hair and her face. His whole world was filled with her scent.

The young man remained on the floor, stunned and at a loss, having forgotten to get up.

”Su Baby, what are you doing crouching outside a girl’s bedroom so early in the morning? You’re not thinking of doing anything naughty, are you~?”

The young woman narrowed her eyes and licked the corner of her mouth.

For some reason, a switch flipped in Su Zhi’s brain. His nervousness vanished. He blinked his eyes and said, ”I was wrong. Please, step on me mercilessly.”

This time, it was Shao Ya’s turn to blush. ”In, in your dreams!”

Suddenly, the door to another bedroom opened. ”Brother Shu, good morning! Thanks for your encouragement yesterday, I... uh...”

The bright, cheerful smile on Liu Yuhang’s face froze.

Last night, he had taken Xue Li out for a walk to clear his head and had quickly recovered from the gloom of the failed evolution. He was ready to face the new day full of energy.

But the moment he got out of bed, he was greeted by this scene:

The morning light was just right. His best friend, Su Zhi, lay on the floor, his eyes curved as he gazed at the girl on top of him. His class president, Shao Ya, was sitting on Su Zhi, her hands braced on the floor on either side of him. Her face was a little flushed, and her eyes seemed flustered, but she also looked excited...

”I, uh, I guess this isn’t a good time.”

Liu Yuhang SLAMMED the door shut.

”Carry on.”

”Carry on my ass!”

Su Zhi scrambled over and grabbed the doorknob. ”Class rep, let me explain! It’s not what you think!”

”It’s okay, Brother Shu! There’s nothing shameful about liking to be the submissive one. I’ll keep your secret!”

”Keep my secret, my ass!”

The living room descended into chaos first thing in the morning. The young woman walked lightly back to her bedroom to change, smacking her lips softly as if savoring the recent moment.

Xiaoyue was curled up under the covers, with only her little cat head poking out, watching her lazily.

’Honestly, so noisy this early in the morning. They really don’t give a cat a moment’s peace.’

’And soon I’ll have to deal with that dumb little puppy again, sigh...’

The young woman changed into clothes suitable for training and left her bedroom.

In the end, Su Zhi never managed to explain ”why he liked being the submissive one.” The light faded from his eyes as he sat on the floor, staring blankly at the ceiling.

Hearing the young woman’s footsteps, the young man breathed a sigh of relief and stood up.

”Want to get breakfast together in a bit?”

”Sure.”

Su Zhi turned to look at the sunrise outside the window, but then he felt her suddenly draw very, very close. A puff of warm air tickled his ear.

”Thanks for dinner last night!”

The corners of Su Zhi’s mouth quirked into a smile, but he said nothing.

And so, the first day of intensive training began!

...

「Evening.」

「Huai City, Wudu New Village.」

”Good evening, Wu Bao. Still training this late?”

”Ooh.”

Seeing Wu Bao lift a foreleg in a salute, Su Mao nodded with a smile, his eyes full of affection and gratification.

’Look at my son, what good taste he has.’

Most people were scared of Wu Bao and kept their distance, thinking he was big, black, and ferocious. But he didn’t see it that way. Isn’t a man’s greatest dream to have his own monster?

”Xiaoshu’s Pet Beast is just as full of spirit as Xiaoshu himself. Seeing you so energetic every day fills me with motivation too!”

”Ooh.”

Wu Bao typed a few words on a tablet and handed it to him with an obedient look.

[But you haven’t updated today.]

”...” Su Mao’s smile froze on his face.

”Ahem, I’ll update soon!”

[Okay~]

Su Mao left, looking utterly exasperated.

Wu Bao peeked out to watch him go. Once he was gone, it switched screens on the tablet, opened WeChat, and entered a contact ID.

A moment later, the friend request was accepted.

When the notification ”The other party is typing...” appeared at the top of the screen, Wu Bao quickly held up the tablet.

[Er Shang]: Hello, I’m Sishang Feisishang, an editor with Group 10 at Qidian Chinese Website.

[Wu Bao]: Hello, Boss!
