Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Chirp...” Shan Bao’s eyes were full of admiration.

’Yu Bao is so amazing. He just went through such a fierce battle, but his expression hasn’t changed at all, as if nothing happened.’

’He’s truly worthy of being the expert she admires most!’

”Woof,” Yu Bao said, casually waving a paw.

Meanwhile, tears were streaming down behind his sunglasses.

’Even though these unexpected events meant I couldn’t save my Points to spend right before the selection tournament, at least I managed to look cool.’

’My life is complete!’

”...” Xiaoyue stood with her hands in her pockets, her face expressionless.

’Forget it. I shouldn’t try to understand the mind of a silly little dog. If I actually could, that would be the real problem.’

With Ke Yan’s arrival, the tide of battle completely turned. Seeing its companion defeated, the other Storm Fish Dragon lost all will to fight. As the Copper Bone War Elephant closed in, it too turned and leaped into the water.

SPLASH!

The sea surface roiled with furious, massive waves. The main force of the Storm Fish Dragons had arrived.

Iron Fist stood before the group, the waves crashing against its solid body and shattering. The Fish Dragon Group revealed themselves from a distance, their eyes filled with rage as they stared at the few humans and Pet Beasts on the beach, but ultimately, they didn’t dare to advance.

The resident Beast Tamers and Su Zhi’s group also stood with him. Together, the Beast Tamers formed a wall—short, yet tall.

In the dark, stormy night, the tiny humans and the enormous Fish Dragons faced off, separated by the hazy coastline.

”ROAR!” One of the Fish Dragons suddenly let out a terrified roar, and the Fish Dragon Group immediately looked up.

At some point, a blue Energy Light Array dozens of meters in diameter had appeared in mid-air. Su Zhi was surprised to see that Xue Li, who had been quiet the whole time, was suddenly covered in a dazzling blue light.

This was the Core Skill of a Hao Waterfowl, Broken Waterfall Judgment.

”ROAR!” The Storm Fish Dragons, rulers of the ocean, actually fell into disarray and panic, which surprised Ke Yan.

BOOM!

The next moment, a gigantic wave of water crashed down from high above like a torrential waterfall, completely engulfing a sea area dozens of meters wide in the blink of an eye!

The power of this strike was far fiercer and grander than the evolution trial in the Storm Strait.

Yu Bao quickly used Yellow Earth Wall, preventing Su Zhi’s group from being caught in the blast. However, under the impact of the tidal wave, cracks actually appeared on Yu Bao’s ”Flood-Control Limited Edition” Yellow Earth Wall.

Su Zhi tucked his hands in his pockets. ”Master Yu’s construction quality is a bit lacking.”

”Woof woof!” Yu Bao anxiously circled around him.

’Then don’t hide behind me! You go out there!’

WHOOSH—

A moment later, the wind and rain stopped. Or rather, there had been no real wind and rain to begin with; it was just that the power of Broken Waterfall Judgment was so immense that countless splashes were sent flying into the air, creating the illusion of rainfall.

The group looked out at the sea together. The vast surface of the ocean was a complete mess.

A few Storm Fish Dragons fearfully poked their heads out, staring at Xue Li with lingering apprehension. One or two reckless Storm Fish Dragons hadn’t dived in time and were now knocked unconscious, floating on the surface like dead fish.

”Quack?” Bilang looked at Xue Li beside her in astonishment.

’Is this... a Hao Waterfowl?’

’And I’m... a Turbulent Duck?’

’Are you kidding me? A Broken Waterfall Judgment of that magnitude... even a fully evolved duck like me couldn’t pull that off!’

”Xue Li...” Liu Yuhang also stared at his own Pet Beast, dumbfounded.

Forget everyone else being shocked; even he, the Beast Tamer, was stunned.

He remembered how in the mock tournament a few days ago, Xue Li had clearly held the advantage but suddenly went into shock, throwing the match away for nothing. Liu Yuhang had assumed it was due to over-training and hadn’t dared to push her with any high-intensity sessions these past few days.

’So what’s going on now?’

”Quack?” Xue Li blinked, a small question mark appearing above her head.

’I don’t know either, quack...’

’If I had to describe it, it’s like the feeling of being constipated for a long time and then suddenly finding relief...’

Receiving an encouraging look from Liu Yuhang, Xue Li nodded and looked toward the Fish Dragon Group again.

SWISH...

A pale blue Release Light Array appeared in mid-air once more, and Xue Li’s body was again enveloped in blue light.

”ROAR!” A chorus of low growls from the Storm Fish Dragons rose from the sea. The massive Fish Dragon Group actually retreated because of this, not stopping until they were twice the distance of Broken Waterfall Judgment’s attack range.

Su Zhi and the others all breathed a sigh of relief.

WHOOSH! A giant wave surged from the distant sea, rolling closer and closer. Just as it was about to hit them, Iron Fist stepped forward and blocked it in time.

”They haven’t given up. They’re still lingering in the waters not far from here.”

Ke Yan said, clenching his fist, but his expression had relaxed considerably. ”But it’s not a big problem anymore. We’ve already won in terms of morale. You’re Liu Yuhang, right?”

”Ah? Yes!”

”Mm, well done. You and your Pet Beast are full of Spirit!”

”Eheheh.” ”Quack.” Liu Yuhang and Xue Li scratched their heads shyly in sync.

”I don’t know if the Storm Fish Dragons will attack again. You kids should leave the scene quickly. This isn’t something you should be involved in.”

Ke Yan waved them off. His gaze fell on Xue Li, and he stroked his chin curiously. ”Is this Hao Waterfowl the one that suddenly went into shock during the mock tournament a few days ago?”

”Yes,” Liu Yuhang nodded hurriedly.

”Has she already evolved? Did you use a Form-Fixing Potion?”

Liu Yuhang lowered his head. ”Not yet. We came to the Storm Strait twice, but the evolution failed both times.”

Ke Yan stroked his chin. ”Interesting. A failed evolution, yet it can unleash such a powerful Broken Waterfall Judgment... Did the appearance of the Storm Fish Dragons trigger a resonance in her? If so, the key to her evolution might just be right here.”

Liu Yuhang asked in surprise, ”Really?”

”It’s just my guess.” Ke Yan waved his hand. ”You all should head back quickly. The Fish Dragon Group will most likely attack again, so it’s not safe here. Even if there is a connection, now is not the time.”

Su Zhi hesitated. ”Then, Instructor, you...”

”Are you kidding me? It’s not your place to worry about me.”

Ke Yan let out a hearty laugh. ”It’s rare to get a chance to fight without holding back. What’s the big deal if a few little brats like you interrupt? The Purity Abyss Alliance’s patrol unit will be here soon. I have to hurry up and have some fun before they clear the area.”

”Alright, alright. We won’t spoil your fun then, Instructor. Goodbye!”

”Remember to do your homework!”

’Don’t you worry, I definitely won’t...’ Su Zhi grumbled to himself as he left the scene with his classmates.

...

”Phew! The hotel is so much more comfortable!”

Back at the hotel, Cao Mingyu sprawled out on the sofa, his outstretched right leg taking up the spot where Fang Yuan had wanted to sit.

”It doesn’t seem like you did anything...” Fang Yuan said in a low voice, hesitating as he was about to sit down.

”My friend Fang Yuan, that’s not our fault. This battle wasn’t suited for our Pet Beasts to perform, was it?”

Fang Yuan nodded. During the fight against the Storm Fish Dragons, he and Cao Mingyu had contributed the least, as their Pet Beasts’ affinities were a complete mismatch.

”It’s fine. As long as everyone is safe and sound,” Su Zhi said, sitting on the opposite sofa.

Shao Ya also plopped down with a sigh, stretched languidly, and naturally draped her arm over his shoulder. The girl let out a long yawn, looking sleepy.

Cao Mingyu’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Fang Yuan. ”My friend Fang Yuan, you actually want to sit next to me, don’t you?”

Fang Yuan: ”...”

Cao Mingyu slapped the sofa with a THUMP THUMP. ”Don’t hide it, don’t wear a mask. Follow your heart! If you want to sit, then sit!”

”You guys chat. I’m going to bed,” Fang Yuan said, following his heart into the bedroom.

”’Follow your heart, and sleep if you want to sleep’... As expected of my dear friend Fang Yuan, you’ve taught me another lesson. Fine! I’ll sleep too!”

With his eyes sparkling, Cao Mingyu also walked into the bedroom with a solemn expression.

”A-Although I don’t get it, I’m all fired up! I’ll go to sleep too!” Liu Yuhang also pumped his fist passionately and walked into the bedroom.

’It’s just sleeping, do you guys have to be so dramatic...’ Su Zhi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he looked at Yu Bao.

Yu Bao nodded.

So Su Zhi looked at Shao Ya and winked. ”It’s getting late. We should go to sleep too. Yu Bao, you get some rest.”

”Woof.”

CLICK.

The lights went out, plunging the living room into darkness. After such a hectic night, everyone was exhausted, and the night quickly grew quiet.

Yu Bao also licked his lips and fell asleep with a soft snore.

DRIP... DRIP...

The faint sound of running water started up again, like a faucet that hadn’t been turned off completely...
