Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

After stepping off the stage, Cao Mingyu clapped Fang Yuan on the shoulder in approval.

”Well done. I didn’t expect us to have such great chemistry. My friend, Fang Yuan, we’re truly a perfect match!”

”...” Fang Yuan gave him a look and took a tactical step back.

Cao Mingyu’s breathing grew heavy. ”We just fought side-by-side, and you’re already acting so distant? My friend, Fang Yuan, don’t suppress your true feelings! Let them all out! I won’t laugh at you. I will respect you!”

Fang Yuan retreated again. ”I don’t know you that well. I only teamed up with you for this match to repay a favor to Su Zhi. I hope you understand that.”

”Tsk, tsk. In that case, there’s nothing more to be said. Su Zhi can only be *my* best friend! Draw your sword!”

Fang Yuan: ”...”

’He’s Su Zhi’s best friend, all right. Just as weird.’

Shao Ya held back a laugh as she watched the two bicker, then quickly turned her gaze back to the stage.

Su Zhi and Yu Bao were ready. Across from him stood the captain of the temporary team from Shanda University Affiliated School, Wang Haokun.

After one singles match and one doubles match, each side had won a round, and the competition had reached a fever pitch.

Neither side could claim an overwhelming victory. This was destined to be an evenly matched contest.

The two opponents stood on either side of the centerline and shook hands.

”You’ve finally decided to fight? To my surprise. I thought you were going to send out your little white-haired girlfriend.”

Wang Haokun said with a smile, sizing up Su Zhi’s eyes.

Su Zhi also smiled faintly. ”You’ve surprised me too. It seems not everyone from Shanda University Affiliated School is a caveman. Some of you do understand the modern handshake.”

Wang Haokun’s mouth twitched.

”As for who goes first, it’s just a matter of strategy. For example, didn’t you also choose not to fight in the first two rounds?” Su Zhi added, twisting the knife.

”Bring your A-game,” Wang Haokun said, then turned and walked to the other side of the stage.

The match light turned from red to blue, and both sides summoned their Pet Beasts simultaneously.

A tender green Beast Taming Light Array lit up beside Wang Haokun. A tall, gray-and-white Pet Beast slowly emerged from it, its head turning deliberately to look at Su Zhi—

[Pet Beast: Grey Gu (Iron-eating Owl)

Attribute: Wood Element, Wind Element

Race: Low Level Elite Race

Real-time Energy Value: 2190]

”Whoa! I can’t believe I’m seeing the legendary round-faced, iron-eating fat chicken!”

”This guy’s walking a fine line! His Beast Taming career is going to get him jail time!”

”You must need all sorts of permits to raise one of those, right? What a hassle. The guys from Shanda University Affiliated School are really something else...”

Many students pulled out their phones to take pictures.

In fact, all of this was covered in yesterday’s self-introduction session, including Cao Mingyu’s Cotton... But when they weren’t playing games, these high school kids had the memory of a goldfish. Expecting them to remember so many Pet Beasts was a bit too much to ask.

But when Su Zhi began his summons, the crowd erupted.

It was light blue!

This man’s Beast Taming Space had already reached the terrifyingly powerful Tier Four!!

”Holy crap! A Tier Four master!!”

”God Su, I’m your dog! AWOOF AWOOF AWOOF AAAAAH!”

”Now this one’s a real heavy hitter...”

”Unbelievable.” Even for the well-informed Ke Yan, this was a rare... alright, he’d been shocked quite a few times today.

However, the shock Su Zhi delivered to Ke Yan far surpassed any of the previous ones.

To advance a Beast Taming Space to Tier Four, one needed to dedicate a massive amount of time to Meditation, and it also required the aid of a Divine Concealment Core. Talent was also crucial for the speed of advancement.

Just how much time had he invested? What kind of talent did he possess to have awakened a Tier Four Space at his age?

The last person to awaken a Tier Four Space at the age of seventeen was the Grand Alliance Leader, Shen Zechuan.

Could Su Zhi be the next legend?

Watching the young man on the stage, a flicker of anticipation lit up Ke Yan’s eyes.

On the other side of the stage, Wang Haokun’s brow furrowed slightly upon seeing Su Zhi’s Light Blue Beast Taming Array.

’This isn’t a matter of coming from a small city anymore... To date, there isn’t a single student in my grade at Shanda University Affiliated School with a Tier Four Beast Taming Space.’

’Putting aside the Pet Beast itself, Su Zhi as a Beast Tamer is an absolute monster.’

’I can’t treat him like some country bumpkin from a small city anymore!’

”Grey Gu, you have to be on your guard for this fight. We must stick to our game plan. The opponent might have some unexpected tactics, so don’t let them affect you!”

”Coo coo.”

The round-bodied Iron-eating Owl turned its head one hundred and eighty degrees, gave an imperceptible nod, then twisted it back one hundred and eighty degrees to stare at the Shimmering Free-Range Chicken across from it.

”Chirp!”

Shan Bao politely nodded a greeting.

’Please, senior, guide me!’

Grey Gu: ”...”

It looked completely harmless, radiating a kind of pure, unadulterated foolishness. Grey Gu wouldn’t normally even deign to hunt this kind of Pet Beast; it would be an insult to her pride as a raptor.

Its Real-time Energy Value seemed unremarkable, too. For an unevolved Low Level Elite Race, it was passable, but only just.

’Can she really do anything to surprise me?’

’But since my Beast Tamer specifically warned me, I’ll play it safe and steady.’

’I’ll treat this like a real hunt and give her absolutely no openings!’

DING.

The Race Bell rang.

Grey Gu’s gaze instantly became as sharp as a hawk’s talon. Almost at the same time, Shan Bao flung a shower of Golden Light toward Grey Gu.

The Flash Gold Sparrow’s Strongest Output Skill, Golden Feather Flying Blade!

Unlike the last time, and the time before that, this Golden Feather Flying Blade finally hit its opponent’s body.

It was a rare Golden Feather Flying Blade that didn’t miss its mark!

THUD THUD THUD.

The golden feathers sank into Grey Gu’s body.

They all went in? The sight was too ghastly to watch.

The spectating students all craned their necks to get a better look.
