Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 262: Chapter 243: One Thing Overcomes Another—their Trail Leads North

As for Favide, Zong Shen plans to take him to grind and accumulate more Slaughter Points to summon more Two-headed Hellhounds as soon as possible.

After arranging everything properly, Zong Shen left the Two-headed Hellhounds and rode back to the territory with the Exploration Squad.

...

Meanwhile, twelve Heretical Giant Power Knights accompanied Raven Saintess Shafuri and the Church Deacon to a location five or six kilometers from Zong Shen Territory.

The rain had finally lessened, but the road surface had become muddy, and all traces were quickly erased by the rainwater.

About ten minutes ago, they lost all trace clues and could only continue forward for ten kilometers, yet they still couldn’t find any further traces.

”This damned rain...”

”What should we do now, Lady Saintess?”

Spoke the Church Deacon, as the clues they had found with difficulty were interrupted again.

Shafuri did not answer but looked into the distance. Under the gradually diminishing rain curtain, the water mist blurred the vision significantly.

”Let’s continue forward for a distance and see if we can find anything else.”

”The Burden-Bearer Mecha is a big guy. Even if traces are erased by the rain, there might be eyewitnesses nearby. As long as we can determine the direction of the Burden-Bearer Mecha’s departure, then it’s fine.”

”Unless there are Spatial Items, it’s almost impossible to move a large batch of supplies silently. But if the other party really has Spatial Items, then there’s no need to drive the Burden-Bearer Mecha.”

Shafuri analyzed seriously; this was the most logical conclusion she could reach based on the known clues.

After speaking, she waved her hand, and the team sped forward again!

...

Ten minutes later, Zong Shen returned to the territory with the Exploration Squad of warriors.

The grassland terrain has one drawback — after the rain, it becomes muddy, even on the pasture where the fertile soil absorbs the water until a footstep leaves a large muddy print.

Now the rain has stopped, and the subjects are active again, but the territory is in chaos, with turned-up mud prints all over the ground.

After the Burrow Challenge ends and all the buildings in the inner city are moved out according to the plan, Zong Shen intends to pave the entire inner city with stone to harden the ground.

The development of the territory still requires much management and construction, but as long as Zong Shen keeps making efforts, he will definitely turn the original broken small courtyard into a grand Giant City.

Now he is back in the territory, ready to collect some Moon God Spring Water and then immediately lead the team to start today’s hunting journey. When there is no exploration task, it’s best to grind more monsters, level up more, and accumulate points during the Burrow Challenge.

His Strength Extraction is just short of 300 points to reach the threshold of 1500, and at that time, he can permanently increase his Strength Attribute by one point. This made him as eager and urgent as Favide.

Just as Zong Shen finished collecting the Moon God Spring Water and was about to set off from the eastern side of the territory, he saw a group of uninvited guests standing not far away.

Those uninvited guests were mere one kilometer away from the territory; this position was just within the blind spot of the territory’s defense building’s range.

[Raven Saintess Shafuri requests to visit your territory]

[Agree] [Refuse]

Zong Shen squinted his eyes, preparing to see who it was when a prompt suddenly appeared.

This is a visitation prompt that only appears when a neutral target requests to enter the territory.

”Whoa! They’ve chased here!”

Zong Shen thought it was the secret stash from the Calamity Raven that had been discovered.

However, she seemed not to come for a fight, seeing her honestly applying for a visit.

Moreover, Zong Shen relied on his territory and had an overwhelming advantage, so what’s there to fear!

Last time, Zong Shen infiltrated Odu Village in Transformation State, recognizing Shafuri, but Shafuri did not recognize him.

Thinking of this, Zong Shen chose [Agree].

Once granted access, entering the territory’s range will not trigger passive attacks from defense buildings.

After obtaining permission, Raven Saintess Shafuri instructed them to wait outside the territory and rode the Grassland Horse belonging to the Church Deacon alone.

Entering Zong Shen’s territory range, she quickly approached Zong Shen and his team.

When the horse reached Zong Shen, Shafuri dismounted and bowed slightly to Zong Shen.

”Sir, I apologize for the abrupt visit.”

”I am Raven Saintess Shafuri from the Calamity Raven Church.”

”We had a batch of supplies stolen; may I ask if you recently saw any Magic Energy Mechas around the vicinity?”

”If you have any clues, please tell me. In return, you will gain the friendship of our Church.”

Zong Shen was initially nervous, his mind locked onto the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword in the Storage Grid, ready to fight the Saintess. But after hearing her speak, Zong Shen breathed a sigh of relief.

He showed a faint smile, striving to appear natural.

”There are indeed such wicked people!”

”I hate thieves the most!”

”But just a few hours ago, I did see several tracked Magic Energy Mechas heading north from here.”

”All on the Mechas were Green-skinned Goblins.”

”They bypassed this area and headed north. I didn’t pay attention to where they went.”

Zong Shen casually said, pinning the blame on the goblin merchants at the sentry camp. Whether they were still there or not, they’d leave some traces.

Moreover, Zong Shen displayed an indignant expression, adding a comment.

”Dear Lady Saintess, if you need help, please feel free to ask.”

Shafuri turned to look north, as if recalling some information, nodded thoughtfully.

”Thank you, sir, for the information you provided.”

”We can deal with those thieves ourselves!”

”Those damned goblins, everyone on the continent knows they’re thieves and scoundrels.”

”But this isn’t Hot Sand City, nor is it the City of Rust Water; they’ve picked the wrong target!”

[Raven Saintess Shafuri’s affinity with you increased by 15 points, current affinity 15 points (Acquaintance)]

Zong Shen glanced at the prompt, chuckled inwardly, but on the surface maintained composure with a nod.

”In that case, I wish Lady Saintess could successfully catch those thieves.”

”Recover the stolen supplies!”

Shafuri nodded, saluted again, then mounted the horse to leave.

After walking a few steps, she suddenly stopped.

”I don’t know why, even though it’s our first meeting, I feel strangely familiar with you.”

A hint of confusion on her face made Zong Shen tense once more.

Did she recognize me?

Fortunately, her next words relaxed him again.

”Hmm...maybe this is what they call an immediate connection...”

”Once the current task is completed, if there’s an opportunity, I’ll visit you again.”

[Raven Saintess Shafuri’s affinity with you increased by 5 points, current affinity 20 points (Acquaintance)]

Affinity increased again...

Zong Shen merely nodded woodenly, and Shafuri waved, signifying her goodbye.

Then, she rode the Grassland Horse back to the team, and after some discussion, collectively headed towards the northern forested area.

Zong Shen stood still, inwardly mourning for Boswell the goblin merchant.

If they hadn’t left the abandoned sentry camp, they would probably face a difficult time with the Calamity Raven Church.

Thankfully, Zong Shen usually kept those Magic Energy Mechas packed away, with the two Goblin Ripper Drivers patrolling on the opposite side of the territory.

Combined with the sudden rain erasing traces in a short time, all known clues pointed towards the goblins; who else could shoulder this blame?

Zong Shen slowly exhaled a breath, waved to the warriors behind him.

”Let’s set off!”
