Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 257: Chapter 241: Commander Level Burrow Disturbance, Tracks of the Tracked Vehicle (Today’s 12,000)

The humans in front of it are truly cruel!

Not only did they roast it once, but they also tied it up.

Now it’s forced to use its inner Frost Power to make ice for them.

It, the mighty bird, has never been humiliated like this!

There’s no choice but to comply; these guys are too rough and easily resort to killing birds!

Zong Shen stood in front, watching as the Frost Raven’s eyes filled with tears. Although its expression was indecipherable, he could sense its grievance.

”What are you crying for? You’re such a big bird!”

”Hurry up and make ice. Once this batch is done, I’ll let you rest for ten minutes.”

Zong Shen gently patted its neck and spoke in a calm tone.

The Frost Raven glanced at it and, resigned, continued exhaling cold air.

This time, the cold breath was noticeably weaker, and it took over thirty seconds to freeze all the buckets completely. After exhaling, it let out a hoarse cry.

It seemed to be telling Zong Shen, ”I really have nothing left!”

Zong Shen laughed; he naturally knew that it was truly spent. The Frost Raven needs to cool down for ten minutes after exhaling cold air for a minute to accumulate Frost Power.

Otherwise, Zong Shen wouldn’t have promised it a ten-minute break. The Wolf Cavalry placed the new batch of ice blocks at the bottom of the basement, layering them twice over.

Zong Shen used the [Manufacturing] function and consumed some wood to create five or six planks, which they laid evenly over the ice blocks, forming a wooden platform.

Being underground, the basement benefits from the soil’s low thermal conductivity, causing its temperature to change much less than the atmosphere, which helps maintain a stable temperature.

Then Zong Shen started dividing the basement into two parts with wooden planks, calling Marie and San Pang to organize the farmers to place the fresh meat—unpreserved by curing or drying—from today’s territory expansion hunt into one section of the basement.

Much of today’s game harvest had already been dried or cured, but the remaining fresh meat was still significant, filling one half of the basement to the brim.

Eggs, vegetables, and dry goods were placed on the other side of the basement; the section with meat was the freezing area, while the other was the cold storage area.

By now, the Frost Raven had almost recovered and could exhale cold air again. Zong Shen had the Wolf Cavalry carry the Calamity Raven to the side of the basement.

One last round of freezing needed to be done to chill the basement properly.

He pointed to the frozen section holding fresh meat, indicating for the Frost Raven to exhale cold air there.

This time, the Frost Raven seemed to have learned; without Zong Shen’s coercion, it consciously aimed and began exhaling frost cold air.

Fierce frost mist surged forward, quickly freezing all the fresh meat into frozen meat. The glimmering frost covered more than half of the basement in an instant. The cold storage zone separated by wooden planks wasn’t frozen, but the overall basement temperature dropped quite a bit.

This time, the Frost Raven exhaled for a full minute, freezing all the fresh meat in the frozen area, thus lowering the basement’s temperature significantly.

This temperature was very suitable for preserving food. Zong Shen, satisfied, nodded and closed the basement lid, covering it with the cotton clothes he got from the Goblin Merchant.

With these steps, Zong Shen was satisfied. A makeshift ice cellar was completed, and he decided to have the Frost Raven give it a cold blast every so often.

Safe, eco-friendly, energy-saving, and no need to consume Magic Energy Points — isn’t this better than a cold storage?

The DIY cold storage was a success. Zong Shen happily patted the large head of the Frost Raven, just like petting the old neighbor’s little bird.

He took out some jerky and tossed it into the Frost Raven’s beak as a reward.

Then he had Korby give it some water and tied its beak with hemp rope.

Today’s cooperation from the Frost Raven was a good sign. In two more days, he might be able to try taming it.

Zong Shen still had a [Pet Contract (Purple)], but he didn’t plan to use it on the Frost Raven. This raptor with some intelligence could be trained manually.

The concern was for those dumb wild beasts that were truly impossible to deal with.

It’s said that intelligent beings are unruly, but theoretically, any creature that understands benefits and avoidance can be tamed.

He instructed the Wolf Cavalry to carry the Frost Raven to a vacant grass hut to keep it locked up for now.

In the afternoon, the sky started to change ominously; after 12 PM today, the Burrow would begin refreshing Level 5 strength monsters.

Zong Shen looked up at the sky, which was heavily overcast; clouds covered the sky but it was still better than the last day of the Newbie Stage and had no rumbling thunder.

It seemed like it was about to rain again, though it was definitely not going to be as torrential as the previous rain.

Zong Shen opened the [Legion], and within just two or three hours, Jiang Yi had recruited four members. Including them, there were a total of 6 members in the [Legion].

Since the [Legion] feature was activated, a new channel called [Legion Channel] had appeared in the [Channel] section, and it was currently flashing continuously, indicating an ongoing chat.
