Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 258: Chapter 241: Commander Level Emerges Amid Burrow Disturbance, Tracks of Treads

Zong Shen opened the [Legion Channel]. Jiang Yi was teaching some small tips for resisting burrow monsters, like how to deal with zombies more efficiently, and what to do when gargoyles appear among the monster horde.

And those new members indeed seemed a bit like novices, asking many basic questions. But it appeared that all of them had adapted to the rhythm of the lord’s life. Zong Shen did not make a sound and silently closed the [Legion Channel].

The gap between different lords is still quite large. There are significant differences between high-end lords, mid-tier lords, and low-tier lords. This disparity will be the basis for the hierarchical gap between lords in the future.

Just like the current indigenous forces, which have village-level, Bang City-level, Giant City-level, Imperial City-level, and Kingdom-level forces, different territory sizes and development progress will eventually form a comprehensive and three-dimensional pyramid-like hierarchy of lords.

Just like now, dozens of villages are governed by one Bang City, a dozen Bang Cities are governed by one Giant City, several Giant Cities are governed by a regional Imperial City, and both the Imperial City and Giant Cities are ultimately part of the kingdom.

The hierarchy of lords will eventually form a new, ascending hierarchic force with limitless potential, similar to that of kingdom cities.

After checking the legion, it was still a little after two in the afternoon. Zong Shen planned to rest for a while, then take the warriors of the exploration squad to the frontline to hunt some burrow monsters, level up, and extract some strength,

”Plop!”

A raindrop fell on the tip of his nose.

The dark clouds in the sky were slowly surging, and the sunlight behind the clouds was changing with the moving clouds. Raindrops fell one by one, gradually forming into rapid thin lines.

”Whoosh!”

The second rainfall after hitting the ground thus began.

This rain was much gentler than the first downpour, lacking the frenzy that followed an oppressive calm.

It was just an ordinary moderate rain, gently moistening the earth.

However, in such weather, normal labor could no longer continue. The farmers and kobolds gathering outside all retreated into the territory under the leadership of Marie and Dutra, hiding in the houses to avoid the rain. Working in the rain easily leads to illness.

Zong Shen stood at the entrance of the lord’s small tower, watching raindrops fall, gradually moistening the earth, and surprisingly felt a rare sense of leisure and contentment.

At this moment, the communication crystal on his chest suddenly lit up. Number 5 was flashing in the crystal, which belonged to Wenresa’s crystal number.

”Could there be another issue on the frontline?”

Zong Shen vaguely felt there must be a problem at the frontline. The difficulty at the burrow frontline increased every day, not just in terms of intensity level but also in the variety of monsters.

Now that Wenresa suddenly contacted Zong Shen using the crystal, it was likely due to an issue arising on the frontline.

He directly chose to connect, and Wenresa’s voice came through along with the sound of falling rain.

”Whoosh!”

”Sir, this is the burrow frontline.”

”I have something to report to you.”

”A new type of monster has been refreshed in the burrow, reaching the commander level.”

”Its intensity is high, and we couldn’t rapidly kill it like before. That commander-level monster broke through the first line of defense, destroyed a grass hut, and was only then killed by us.”

”To be safe, the frontline defenses and troop strength need to be reinforced.”

Wenresa’s tone was a bit urgent, and it sounded like she was talking to him in the rain.

Sure enough, the burrow started refreshing commander-level monsters.

This signified that the burrow’s intensity would increase further.

”Don’t worry, I’ll bring people to the frontline right now.”

”Stay vigilant and pay attention to the refresh frequency of commander-level monsters.”

”We’ll discuss it in detail once I arrive.”

Zong Shen quickly gave instructions and disconnected the communication crystal.

He immediately began preparing the exploration squad warriors, getting ready to head to the frontline for a look.

Zong Shen ventured into the rain, gathering his people. The territory didn’t lack horses, especially after capturing over a dozen from the horse bandits who had attacked that morning, ensuring each member of the exploration squad had their own mount.

Thus, Zong Shen mounted Pigsy, and except for Luna, the team members each rode a grassland horse, racing through the continuous raindrops toward the frontline.

...

Meanwhile, outside a secret storage point of the Calamity Raven Church.

Beside the ruins of the city wall, twelve Heretical Giant Power Knights stood in the rain.

There was also an empty grassland horse wandering nearby.

In the center was the Raven Saintess Shafuri, cloaked with a hood. They waited in the rain.

Five or six minutes later, a church deacon also wearing a cloak emerged from the break in the ruined wall, shaking his head toward the Raven Saintess Shafuri, who was awaiting results below.

”Lady Saintess, the secret supply point has already been emptied...”

”We were a step too late.”

”This must be related to the loss of contact with the first Raven Scout this morning.”

His tone carried intense disappointment and disbelief, sounding particularly desolate and bleak amidst the rain.

This batch of supplies was crucial for their operation, especially since it contained military equipment intended to counter the Lentates Giant City’s reinforcements.

Shafuri frowned, but eventually, she waved her hand at the church deacon.

”Beiste, come down for now.”

”Have the church use space-capable bags to pack the supplies. With Raven Scouts riding Frost Ravens, they should still make it in time.”

”This time, make sure they change their route from the original one.”

”There must be something wrong with the route; Raven Scouts wouldn’t lose contact for no reason.”

”Even if they fell into enemy hands, the magic-sealed message tube should have been unbreakable.”

Shafuri consoled the deacon, seeing far too many suspicious points in this situation.

Even with her wisdom, she couldn’t fathom how the other party broke the self-destructive restriction on the seal and obtained the specific location of the secret supply point.

The self-destructive seal is unresolvable; not even masterful rune magic practitioners could break it without damage. Its task was simple, to self-destruct on incorrect breath recognition, thus avoiding any leaks of information.

Only a few means could resolve the self-destructive seal without damage, but those who could deploy such means wouldn’t even care for these supplies.

Therefore, the current situation seemed extremely strange.

Shafuri stood pondering for a moment, still with no clue.

So, she moved, jumping onto the back of a Heretical Giant Power Knight’s horse.

With one hand resting on the knight’s waist,

”Let’s head back.”

With a command, all the Giant Power Knights turned their horses, and the church deacon also mounted the grassland horse.

Odu Village was southwest of this secret supply point, so they all turned around.

The cavalry members quickly accelerated, advancing rapidly through the rain curtain.

Having progressed for merely two or three minutes, Shafuri suddenly ordered everyone to stop.

”Everyone, hold up!”

All the cavalry immediately held their horses, screeching to a halt up ahead.

Shafuri dismounted, walked back one or two hundred meters, and crouched directly on the ground.

There were several long, water-filled tracks.

She traced a line on the mud mark, immediately standing up, seemingly having discovered something.

”These are track marks...”

”Only a few magic energy mechas prefer tracks for propulsion.”

”And the only ones capable of long-distance travel are the goblin Burden-Bearer Mechas.”

”So, was it a group of not-too-weak goblins who stole our supplies from the secret base?”

”Thinking about it, it’s quite possible; those wretched green hides are always unreasonably greedy.”

Shafuri muttered to herself, instantly connecting the track marks to the goblin race.

In this rainy weather, the falling rain would greatly damage the various traces on the ground.

Now was their last chance for tracking; let the rain fall a bit longer, and these track marks would completely vanish!
