I Return From Hell

Chapter 128: Chapter 121: Xie Shaokun’s Growth

After the first few minutes of chaos, many of the survivors began to gather, seeking the protection of the Strong People. This was a subconscious act of the weak.

In a way, these layers of ’human shields’ made the situation safer for Xia Yu and her group.

Xia Yu saw this clearly, so she commanded, ”Xie Shaokun, Little Flower, leave this to me. You two can fight freely. Kill as many Mutants as you can.”

”Remember, don’t go too far.”

”Yes.”

Xie Shaokun nodded firmly.

Little Flower pushed the door open and got out.

「At the same time.」

Chen Hang felt completely unsafe outside the car and pounded desperately on the window. ”Little Ai, save me! Let me in, I’m begging you!”

Xie Shaokun and Xia Yu had been ignoring his pleas. He had shouted himself hoarse, so he could only turn to Little Ai for help.

”I don’t want anything to happen to you either.”

Little Ai, inside the car, hesitated for a moment before shaking her head decisively. ”But this isn’t my car. I can’t make that call.”

Chen Hang pleaded with a pained expression, ”Don’t you guys know each other? Please, just put in a good word for me...”

THUD.

Xie Shaokun kicked him to the ground and roared, ”You’re young, and all you know is how to hide! Get up! Come with me and kill these monsters.”

”Huh? I... I don’t dare.”

”Please, let me go. I can give you money. My dad’s really rich. You know how much money energy companies make. I...”

Chen Hang didn’t dare resist, just trembled and begged for mercy.

”Pathetic coward.”

Xie Shaokun had no time to waste on him. He raised his gun, aimed it at the white-haired man who didn’t dare to look at him, and roared, ”Weren’t you pretty damn arrogant when you were bullying that woman?”

”Move!”

”You’re coming with me to kill monsters.”

”Or else, I’ll put you down!”

This was one of the men he had beaten up at the restaurant.

”I... I don’t dare... What right do you have to order me around?”

The white-haired man resisted, looking toward Snake Man, hoping he would stand up for him.

Then.

He saw that Snake Man had already crawled under a car.

The white-haired man was speechless.

BANG.

Xie Shaokun pulled the trigger and fired a shot into the air.

”AHH!”

”I’ll go! I’ll go!”

The white-haired man squeezed his eyes shut and screamed, his hands raised high.

Where was all that swaggering arrogance from when he was harassing and beating the woman?

”And you! You! You!”

”All of you, with me!”

Xie Shaokun aimed the gun at several other men.

It had to be said, these guys were really lucky. None of them had turned into Mutants.

But now, they were in a miserable state, forced to face the monsters and suffer the torment of fear.

THWACK.

...

Having been through the last Mist Event, Xie Shaokun had grown much colder. Now, when he killed Mutants, he also spared a part of his attention to watch out for the people around him.

He finally understood that the danger during the Mist Event wasn’t just monsters like the Mutants, but also his fellow human beings!

’His strength and combat experience have certainly improved a lot.’

Xia Yu nodded in approval as she watched Xie Shaokun slaughtering them with ease.

Fighting independently, away from her, had been great training for Xie Shaokun. He was a completely different person from the man who first entered the Mist Event.

In just two minutes, Xie Shaokun had single-handedly killed over twenty Mutants. Moreover, he remained rational and didn’t get carried away, always making sure to have people on his left and right.

He glanced around and saw that many of the humans who had been killed were now rising to their feet as Mutants.

With new Mutants rising to replace the fallen, their total numbers had only decreased by a dozen or so.

The situation was grim.

The pressure was mounting.

’I need to speed up.’

Xie Shaokun went all out. In the next two minutes, he killed twenty-three Mutants. It had to be said, his killing efficiency was extremely high.

Just as he was about to continue the slaughter, an alpaca came charging at him, roaring.

Its face was covered in blood, its expression vicious and terrifying.

”A Mutated Beast!”

”Bring it on!”

Instead of retreating, Xie Shaokun advanced, meeting the alpaca that surpassed him in both speed and Power.

Relying on his considerable combat experience and his enhanced superpower, he actually managed to fight it to a standstill, even gaining a slight advantage.

In just over ten seconds, he had severed both of the alpaca’s front legs, leaving only its hind legs and crippling its movement.

Just as Xie Shaokun was about to finish it off with a single strike...

WHOOSH.

A squirrel with bloodshot eyes lunged at him from the side.

Xie Shaokun’s pupils contracted. Having just put all his strength into his attack, he had no time to dodge. He subconsciously threw up his left arm to block while simultaneously redirecting his combat knife into an upward thrust.

RRRIP.

Under the Enhancement of his superpower, the down jacket on his left arm became as tough as sheet metal. It momentarily slowed the squirrel’s meat-hook-like claws, but only for an instant before it was ripped open.

Immediately after, his skin was broken and blood began to flow.

Just as the squirrel’s sharp claws were about to dig deeper...

SHLUK.

The combat knife finally pierced through the squirrel’s lower jaw, penetrating its skull.

The squirrel’s claws froze, losing all their strength.

It fell to the ground, a lifeless corpse.

”ROAR!”

”ROAR!”

Two more Mutated Beasts charged forward, one from the left and one from the right, posing an immense threat.

Xie Shaokun had no time to recover, let alone kill the crippled alpaca. He raised his knife again, preparing for battle.

’Motherfucker.’

Suddenly, he was kicked in the back, and his body stumbled, losing its balance.

’It’s the white-haired man!’

’Damn it!’

Xie Shaokun had been so careful, but he’d still been backstabbed. He gritted his teeth in fury but had no time to think further, because the two Mutated Beasts had already taken the opportunity to attack.

However, having been betrayed once before, he was still on guard. The instant he lost his balance, he spun around and grabbed the foot that had kicked him.

”No!”

The white-haired man’s expression changed drastically.

”You forced my hand!”

”You forced me!”

”Go to hell!”

Xie Shaokun suddenly put his strength into it, yanking the man off his feet and viciously throwing him toward the Mutated Beast on the left.

He then used the momentum to roll aside, dodging the pounce from the Mutated Beast on the right.

A perfect escape from a deadly crisis!

The white-haired man wasn’t so lucky. The Mutated Beast’s claws tore open the skin on his face, even scraping off a piece of his cheekbone.

”AHH!”

In his terror and agony, he unleashed an astonishing burst of potential, grabbing the creature and trying to fling it off his face.

As a result, a huge chunk of flesh and bone was ripped from his face.

He shrieked in pain.

The excruciating pain almost made him pass out.

However, what he hadn’t expected was that there was even greater pain and terror to come!

The Mutated Beast swung its front claws, easily splitting open the white-haired man’s forehead and exposing the brain tissue within. It looked as if...

a third eye had been opened!

”AHH!”

He screamed again.

In his final moments, he saw Xie Shaokun desperately slay the other Mutated Beast and reached out, as if to beg for help.

Too bad.

Xie Shaokun didn’t even spare him a glance.
