I Return From Hell

Chapter 120: Chapter 113: Liberation

The badminton court.

”THWACK.”

”THWACK.”

...

Wang Quanzhi was frantically practicing badminton.

Wang Zhe, standing to the side, asked worriedly, ”Brother Zhi, your skills aren’t that great, are they? Can you really pass for a coach?”

Wang Quanzhi was full of confidence. ”Don’t worry. She’s just a young girl; her skill level is probably average. My skills are more than enough to teach her. Besides, I’ve been cramming badminton techniques these past few days.”

”I guarantee I’ll have her completely fooled.”

Wang Zhe was still extremely worried, mainly because he didn’t want Brother Tian to find out that Wang Quanzhi was impersonating a coach.

If that made Brother Tian unhappy, the whole thing just wouldn’t be worth it.

”Don’t worry.”

”Even if I get caught, I won’t sell you out. I’ll just say I bribed the badminton coach you hired and took his place. I’ll say we don’t actually know each other.”

Tired from playing, Wang Quanzhi came off the court, patted Wang Zhe’s shoulder, and offered his assurance.

Wang Zhe shook his head decisively. ”No way. We can’t lie. Brother Tian can find out anything. You don’t understand how capable he is.”

Wang Quanzhi scoffed.

’Just a little brat in his last year of high school. What’s he capable of?’

He couldn’t be bothered to argue with his cousin and instead asked, ”So I should think of another way?”

The two were cousins, both belonging to the large, business-oriented Wang Family. They usually got along well.

”Let me try to figure something out.”

Wang Zhe knew his own limits. He was no match for his cousin when it came to scheming, let alone Brother Tian. That’s why he had always chosen to be the honest one and never tried to play mind games with either of them.

As a result, even though he might seem a bit foolish, he was very well-liked.

At that moment, he wondered if he should give Brother Tian a heads-up and ask for his help in finding a solution—one that wouldn’t offend his cousin but would still let Yu get her exercise.

”DING-DONG.”

A new message arrived.

Wang Zhe opened his phone, his eyes lighting up. ”Yu doesn’t need a badminton coach anymore!”

’Could Brother Tian have known about my predicament and arranged this in advance?’

’He saved me from an awkward situation and solved the problem at the same time.’

’Brother Tian is amazing!’

”What?”

Wang Quanzhi was suddenly anxious. ”For real?” he asked.

”Brother Zhi, when have I ever lied to you? See for yourself!”

Wang Zhe handed his phone to Wang Quanzhi, speaking with dissatisfaction.

Er...

Wang Quanzhi frowned as he looked at the chat log.

He hadn’t sought out Xia Yu these past few days, waiting for this exact opportunity to play badminton. He had planned and prepared for so long, only for her to back out now?

’Running?’

’Fine by me!’

’I’m good at running!’

’I can run ten kilometers!’

”I’m not doubting you, cuz. I just wasn’t expecting this,” he explained.

At the same time, he thought, ’First, win over Xia Tian, then ”coincidentally” run into Xia Yu.’

’Perfect!’

”By the way,”

”I asked you to invite Xia Tian to a meal. Did you do it?”

Wang Quanzhi asked, ”The restaurant is in the city, not too far from his apartment complex. It’s convenient.”

”I did.”

Wang Zhe nodded in response. ”Brother Tian agreed, but he said Lan Caihe also invited him to a get-together for the Lantern Festival. He asked if you could all go together.”

”Of course, no problem.”

Wang Quanzhi smiled nonchalantly.

”Okay.”

Wang Zhe said, ”Then that makes things easy.”

...

...

Today, Xia Yu didn’t go to Xia Family Village. There wasn’t much going on at the base recently, so there was no need.

She continued to visit other cemeteries to gather Yin Qi.

This time, she didn’t look for Little Ai, nor did she ”exploit” a single cemetery agent. Instead, she switched from one agent to another.

Time flew by in the blink of an eye.

In a flash, it was afternoon. The completion of Little Flower’s fourth metamorphosis had slowly increased from 1% to 2%.

It had to be said, the total amount of Yin Qi needed for the fourth metamorphosis far exceeded the previous ones. At this rate, it would take forever to complete.

She thought the day would pass uneventfully.

Unexpectedly, the male agent she found today mentioned a wild rumor that was spreading like wildfire in their circle. ”Kids these days,” he said, ”they just can’t handle pressure.”

”You’ve heard of the ’Liberation Group,’ right?”

’Liberation?’

Xia Yu was stunned for a moment, then it hit her, and a thought occurred: ’A group like that... the people in it must be filled with immense resentment, right?’

If the Resentful Corpse were to absorb their resentment, its power would surely increase rapidly.

However... the Resentful Corpse was already absorbing resentment fast enough. If she deliberately sought out people filled with it, Little Flower might soon lose control of the corpse.

Therefore, she had to avoid people like that.

”I heard a group of them arranged a time to jump off a cliff together at East Phoenix Mountain tomorrow.”

The male agent chattered on.

Xia Yu wasn’t listening to him at all. Instead, another thought occurred to her: ’Since he’s in this line of work, he should know where the Yin Qi is densest, right?’

She voiced her question.

”A place with heavy Yin Qi?”

The male agent was taken aback and couldn’t help but look Xia Yu up and down.

’So beautiful.’

’And what a killer body.’

He reluctantly tore his gaze away and said, ”What are you looking for a place like that for?”

Xia Yu: ”Curiosity.”

The male agent reluctantly accepted this reason and said, ”Besides cemeteries, it would have to be... the XX Residential Complex, I guess? A huge fire broke out there many years ago. I heard one of the buildings was completely engulfed in flames.”

”A lot of people died.”

”The place is said to be haunted.”

”And I’ve heard that kids refuse to play there, and even birds don’t like to linger around. Tell me, isn’t that just spooky?”

He deliberately lowered his voice to create a scary atmosphere.

However, Xia Yu wasn’t afraid in the slightest. She knew that in modern society, there were no such things as ’ghosts’.

The two parted ways.

”VROOOM.”

She slammed the gas pedal to the floor.

She sped straight toward the fire-ravaged building.

’I hope I get a good haul,’ she thought.

If this place didn’t work out, she planned to check out the areas outside the city next.

To obtain a large amount of Yin Qi, she really needed to find a place where the terrain itself caused Yin Qi to gather. The problem was, she didn’t know what kind of terrain was more likely to do that.

Going out of the city would be just a shot in the dark.

As for collecting Yin Qi from a Mist Event, like the incident at the international hotel... that was probably impossible for the time being. None of the upcoming Mist Events she remembered had anything to do with Yin Qi.

The sky gradually darkened.

The streetlights flickered on.

At a certain moment...

An immense wave of resentment descended from the sky!

Before Xia Yu could even react...

”THUD!”

Suddenly, a figure slammed heavily onto the ground.

”VROOOM.”

Xia Yu’s pupils contracted, and she slammed on the gas.

The Resentful Corpse sitting in the passenger seat was frantically absorbing the resentment!

’I have to get out of here, fast!’

However, the Resentful Corpse absorbed the resentment too quickly. Even though she left promptly, it still managed to consume a huge amount.

The amount of resentment was equivalent to a tenth of its power at its Peak.

In other words, its strength had already been restored to ten percent of its Peak!

’Too fast!’

Xia Yu’s expression was incredibly grim.
