I Return From Hell

Chapter 107: Chapter 100: Bloody Battle with the Yinfeng

Wang Chunxue watched, her eyes wide, as her own husband dragged her son in front of the monster!

”SQUELCH.”

The monster’s gaping maw, which should have clamped down on Xia Hongchun’s leg, instead bit into the back of Wang Chunxue’s son’s neck.

”CRACK.”

The sound of splitting bone rang out.

Wang Chunxue’s son, who had been struggling just a moment before, instantly went still.

Immediately after, Xia Hongchun felt the hand on his ankle loosen. He scrambled away, tumbling and crawling, without even glancing back at the scene behind him.

”Sis.”

”We have to run!”

Seeing that his nephew was already dead, Wang Dan grabbed Wang Chunxue and started running. ”If we don’t run now, we’re all going to die.”

Wang Chunxue was dragged away.

She watched as her son was torn apart, piece by piece. Even when she could no longer see anything, she kept looking back, desperately hoping her son would somehow break free and run out on his own.

Until finally, the three of them reached the stairwell and slammed the door shut.

Only then did Wang Chunxue turn her head and stare at Xia Hongchun, her gaze Cold and Mysterious.

Xia Hongchun didn’t quite dare to meet her eyes. Then he remembered that she was the one who had started the trouble, and his confidence returned. Sticking his neck out, he said, ”What do we do now?”

”There are definitely monsters upstairs, too.”

”Why don’t we just hide here?”

There was a door between the first basement level and the ground floor. As long as they closed it and stayed quiet, they would be fine.

It was a good suggestion.

Unfortunately, the two sides were already enemies. How could they possibly coexist peacefully?

”Xia Hongchun.”

Wang Chunxue said through gritted teeth, ”You killed my son! I’m going to call the police! I’ll have you sent to prison!”

”You’ll get the death penalty!”

Hearing this, Xia Hongchun’s legs went weak.

That’s right. He’d killed someone. In a society governed by law, anyone knew the consequences of murder.

’Wait. The power’s out here, and there are no cameras.’

’If these two witnesses in front of me died...’

An extremely dangerous thought sprouted in his mind, and the thought itself startled him.

’But thinking about it carefully... It seems... feasible?’

After all, for some reason, this place was crawling with monsters. He could pin the blame on them, and no one would ever suspect he had killed anyone!

In that instant, Xia Hongchun’s mind raced, and he figured it all out. ”I don’t want to go to prison! I don’t want to be executed!”

But Wang Chunxue was oblivious to her own predicament. She was still cursing in a low voice, ”You animal! You’d even harm a child! I wouldn’t let you go even if I became a ghost.”

Wang Dan also spoke up, ”A brother-in-law like you is worse than having none at all.”

”When this is all over, we’ll personally see you in court!”

The brother and sister were unusually united.

This only further solidified Xia Hongchun’s idea.

’You’re the ones forcing my hand!’

”SCREEECH.”

An ear-piercing sound of grinding metal rang out.

The three of them jumped in fright, their gazes all turning toward the steel fire door leading from the first basement level to the stairwell.

’What’s going on?’

Soon, a sharp claw pierced through the steel fire door. Like a cutting machine, it slowly sliced an opening.

Through the opening, the three of them could vaguely make out a pair of blood-red eyes.

”Ah!”

They turned in unison.

Run!

After taking just two steps, a thought struck Xia Hongchun: ’This is my chance!’

...

...

「Meanwhile.」

”BANG!”

The first gunshot rang out.

Xia Yu had opened the window at some point, firing a shot that hit a Yinfeng that had begun to slaughter the Mutants.

That’s right. The Yinfeng were slaughtering the Mutants!

She had thought that no matter how weak the Mutants were, they could at least diminish the Yinfeng’s combat strength. But who would have thought the battlefield would be so completely one-sided?

The Yinfeng excelled in speed, completely dominating the engagement.

They could fly, allowing them to easily attack the Mutants’ weak point—the head.

Their sharp oral organs easily pierced the Mutants’ skulls.

The advantage was too great.

Moreover, the combat strength of each one had also exceeded Xia Yu’s expectations.

Therefore, she had opened fire early!

”THWIP.”

A Yinfeng was shot in the wing.

Because the Yinfeng were too fast and the light was too dim, hitting vital spots like the head or eyes was extremely difficult. She had opted to aim for the wings, which were a larger target.

The wing was pierced.

Normally, this wouldn’t have had a major impact, but the shock it caused was immense.

This Yinfeng’s oral organ had already pierced a Mutant’s skull. Before it could even begin to enjoy its meal, it was startled and tried to pull away, not realizing how foolish that was.

It had already entered the Mutant’s body and disturbed it, but had failed to kill it instantly. Wasn’t that just giving its opponent a chance to counterattack?

”SMACK.”

Although the Mutant had no intelligence, it knew to fight back. It had animal instincts. It swatted a hand up and grabbed the Yinfeng that was trying to fly away from its head.

It squeezed hard.

SPLAT.

The body burst open.

Flesh and blood, mixed with some unknown, viscous yellow liquid, splattered all over the Mutant’s head.

It was exceptionally disgusting.

But the Mutant paid it no mind and actually shoved the remains into its mouth.

The Yinfeng’s Defense was not weak, but it was no match for the Mutant’s teeth. After just a few chomps, it was chewed to a pulp and swallowed, wings and all.

The first Yinfeng, dead!

The Yin Qi it carried dispersed.

「At that moment.」

”WHOOSH.”

Xia Yu had already closed the window, drawn the curtains, and swiftly left her room.

Shoot once, change positions.

That was the way to avoid being targeted by danger.

”CLICK.”

The Blood Butterfly in her hand easily pierced the lock of the adjacent room, opening the door.

She closed it.

She placed the electric kettle from the table behind the door, ensuring she would immediately notice if anyone pushed the door open.

She used the Blood Butterfly to easily open the window.

Aimed.

”BANG.”

Another shot.

Her luck was good this time. A Yinfeng was shot in the head and instantly killed, falling from the night sky only to be stomped flat by a Mutant. It stained the ground red, like a ’splash-ink painting’.

She turned and left.

The entire process was executed in one smooth motion.

「Ten minutes later.」

”BANG.”

Xia Yu returned to the first room and fired another shot, heavily wounding a Yinfeng.

That was the tenth one!

In the night sky, a Yinfeng fully twice the size of its kin let out a high-pitched, piercing shriek. The sound was so sharp and ear-splitting that Xia Yu’s eardrums throbbed, and her head spun.

Her movements faltered.

”CRASH.”

”SHATTER.”

At that very moment, a Yinfeng near her room smashed violently through the window and lunged straight for her.

’They’re here!’

Xia Yu was prepared for this, but she hadn’t expected them to find her location so quickly.

Without looking back, she rushed out of the room.

Once in the hallway, the Blood Butterfly and pistol in her hands had vanished, replaced by two submachine guns.

One in each hand.

”BZZZZZZ.”

After flying out of the room, the Yinfeng made a sharp turn.

Its wings vibrated at a high frequency.

Its body scraped along the wall as it perfectly navigated the tight turn.

It had to be said, its flying skill and bodily stability were truly impressive.

However... it had still slowed down.

And that was Xia Yu’s chance!

”RAT-A-TAT-TAT.”

Her finger twitched on the trigger.

A torrent of bullets poured out, forming a rain of lead that instantly enveloped the Yinfeng, leaving it with no way to escape.

A few seconds later, it was torn to shreds, with no trace of vitality left.

Securing the submachine gun in her left hand to her left thigh, Xia Yu drew the Blood Butterfly from her left hip, strode forward to extract the Yinfeng’s oral organ, and simultaneously released Little Flower.

Instantly, Little Flower transmitted a feeling of joy.

Its efficiency at absorbing Yin Qi had greatly increased, but it still needed time. Xia Yu remained cautiously on guard.

A few seconds later, before even half of the Yin Qi on the Yinfeng’s body could be devoured, several more Yinfeng smashed into the room.

”Go!”

Xia Yu decisively left, taking the reluctant Little Flower with her.

Next, she used the hotel’s layout to maneuver and fight against the pursuing Yinfeng.

Meanwhile, in the hallway, the Yin Qi from the dead Yinfeng’s corpse slowly drifted off in a single direction...
