I Return From Hell

Chapter 117: Chapter 110: Breakthrough and Gains

Time passed, second by second.

Xia Yu’s body continuously underwent a transformation from the Spiritual Energy, until a certain moment...

The transformation reached a limit, triggering a qualitative change.

It was a natural culmination.

”I’m about to break through.”

Xia Yu’s eyes focused, filled with anticipation.

Immediately after, a wave of pain several times more intense than before washed over her. She was all too familiar with it, easily enduring it with her monstrous willpower.

The Heaven and Earth Spiritual Power surged into her body at an even faster rate, supporting this physical transformation.

This state lasted for more than half an hour.

Only then did it end.

”Whew.”

Xia Yu slowly stood up, clearly feeling much lighter.

In reality,

her body weight hadn’t decreased. Instead, it had increased by at least fifty-five pounds, going from about 119 pounds to 174. This didn’t mean she had gotten fat; rather, her body’s density had increased!

Only with a transformed body could she support greater power and command higher speeds.

To feel so much lighter under these circumstances just showed how terrifyingly her power had increased!

SLAP.

Xia Yu slapped her palm against a nearby wall.

Instantly, a shallow palm print appeared.

’My power has increased by eighty percent compared to before the breakthrough.’

’My speed has increased by thirty percent.’

’Same as in my previous life.’

’Based on my past life, my soul’s enhancement should be ten percent.’

This was determined by one’s physical talent and wouldn’t change just because she was reborn.

Everyone’s body changed differently when they reached the First Grade Spiritual Ability Realm, which was one of the reasons physical talent was considered so incredibly important.

With every major breakthrough, the gap would widen further.

Some people remained the weakest among those in the First Grade Spiritual Ability Realm even after breaking through. Others, however, gained strength comparable to the Second Grade Spirit Ability Realm!

And this was determined the moment you were born.

There was almost no way to change it.

Unless you obtained Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures that could enhance your physical talent, you could only accept your fate.

’Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures that enhance physical talent are extremely difficult to obtain. They only have a chance of appearing during major events.’

Xia Yu knew that to achieve her goal, she had to improve her physical talent. If it was too weak, she wouldn’t even be qualified to reach the High-grade Spiritual Ability Realm, let alone aspire to even greater heights.

Therefore...

she needed to be fully prepared to fight for such Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures!

As she was now, she had a high chance of killing a Red-eyed Mutant Beast head-on, but she would still be utterly slaughtered if she faced a Resentful Corpse at its peak.

This was far from enough!

”Hm?”

’The Heaven and Earth Spiritual Power is receding! Is the Mist Event ending?’

’Time flies.’

This was the only time Xia Yu had ever lost track of time.

Fortunately, this Mist Event lasted long enough—nearly two hours—otherwise, it wouldn’t have been enough to support her body’s transformation.

She would have had to wait for the next Mist Event.

’This Resentful Corpse is no simple creature. I must keep a close eye on it at all times!’

Her gaze fell on the Resentful Corpse, and she frowned slightly.

About twenty minutes ago, the Resentful Corpse had stopped absorbing the resentful energy because... it had completely drained all the resentful energy within the Mist Event!

Its speed of absorbing resentful energy could be considered top-tier.

At the very least, the Xia Yu of the previous life had never seen a Resentful Corpse with such a rapid absorption rate.

Little Flower sent a positive signal.

It had completely familiarized itself with this new body and was now more confident in controlling it.

Xia Yu glanced down from the hotel and could vaguely see a large number of combat personnel surrounding the area outside the mist, standing ready. She wasn’t surprised by this.

However...

there was no other way to get outside from here.

She couldn’t leave quietly.

Unless she applied Little Flower, just like last time, and left in disguise.

But doing so would mean leaving the Resentful Corpse here, adding an unpredictable variable. If she couldn’t find the Resentful Corpse later, or if it absorbed a massive amount of resentful energy and returned to its peak state, it would inevitably cause mass casualties.

So, after a moment of thought, she picked up Nai’er’s phone and sent a message to Zhao Guohui:

”Have the warriors at the Jinlan International Hotel pull back. Surround it again in ten minutes.”

By this point, the Mist Events that Zhao Guohui and the others were in had all ended, so Zhao Guohui would definitely receive this message.

Next, it all depended on Zhao Guohui’s attitude.

Soon, the mist dissipated, and the warriors began to search the hotel.

”Huh?”

To Xia Yu’s surprise, a living man was actually rescued!

’A survivor?’

’Could he be the person who survived in my previous life?’

Then, it dawned on Xia Yu.

In her previous life, this person had survived even without her to attract the Resentful Corpse, plot against the Yinfeng and the Mutant, and deal with the Mutated Beast and the Mutated Plant.

In this life, it was even easier for him to survive!

About three minutes later,

the warriors had just reached the third floor when they suddenly received an order to retreat quickly and clear a path.

Xia Yu wasn’t surprised by this.

It was in line with Zhao Guohui’s character.

SWOOSH.

Ever cautious, she subconsciously put on a face mask and a baseball cap before quickly leaving with Little Flower and the Resentful Corpse, heading toward her car.

But to her surprise, her car, parked on the side of the road, had been scratched!

Xia Yu couldn’t be bothered with such things and got in the car, ready to leave.

Just then, she glanced at a spot on the roof of a distant high-rise, then decisively moved to the back seat and said, ”Little Flower, you drive!”

Little Flower resisted.

It didn’t know how to drive; it had never even seen it done.

”I’ll teach you,” Xia Yu said, leaving no room for argument.

The roads were empty of people and cars.

There was no fear of being filmed or investigated.

And certainly no fear of scraping the car.

What a perfect opportunity to learn how to drive.

Of course, the most important thing was that she didn’t like being watched, even if the observer had no ill intent!

And so, driven by Little Flower, the car swerved and wobbled away from the area.

Xia Yu hid herself in the shadows, letting Little Flower ”drive freely.”

Meanwhile, she composed herself and began to summarize her gains from this trip:

First, her strength had broken through to the First Grade Spiritual Ability Realm, and her combat power had undergone a world-shaking transformation.

Although the increases in power, speed, and soul didn’t seem enormous, in a battle between experts, the smallest difference could lead to a vastly different outcome.

It was no exaggeration to say that she could now take on five of her former self.

It would be a complete stomp.

Second, three Crystal Cores.

The Yinfeng had consumed the vast majority of them, but Xia Yu had managed to recover three: two were Ordinary Crystal Cores from standard Mutated Beasts, while the third came from the Red-eyed Mutant Beast. It was called a First-grade Crystal Core—a graded item whose value far surpassed the others.

Third, forty-three oral organs from the Yinfeng. They could be used as weapons and were very powerful—for example, as Hidden Weapons!

Fourth, Little Flower completed its third evolution.

Fifth, one Resentful Corpse.

If she could control it perfectly, then... it would be the greatest prize from this entire Mist Event trip!
