The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

After hearing Kirei’s surprising question, the confused Kaito (clone) immediately asked, ”H-How did you know that?”

”A person claiming to be an apostle of God came to the church and informed about your presence, saying we need to defeat the devil to gain world salvation.”

”Are you kidding me?”

”Hahahaha!”

Seeing Kirei toying with him and laughing at his predicament, Kaito wanted so badly to punch his arrogant face. Unfortunately, forgot about punching, he barely held on before committing self-destruct thanks to the fatal holy damage he currently suffers from.

...!!

”Answer me, seriously, Kirei!” ’Kaito’ yelled in anger, trying his best to force Kirei to answer.

Since he (the clone) won’t survive this situation, his objective now changes to make Kirei reveal as much as information possible for the original to know later on after he got destroyed.

...

Kirei, who seemed moved, finally nodded and answered seriously, ”I’m not joking, Devil-kun. Someone important to this world is telling me about your true identity as a devil, and I got tasked to kill you.”

...!!

’Kaito’ who suspected this might be the work of the system, not surprised by the answer, asked again, ”Does the ’world’ really order you to kill me?”

”Nope.”

”What?! Aren’t you supposed---”

*STEP*

...!!

”AArrgh!”

Before Kaito was able to finish his word, Kirei then stepped on his body which made Kaito feel so much pain. Kirei then sneered while aiming Black Key at Kaito’s throat, ”However, Kaito-kun~ Isn’t it normal for a devoted priest like me to try to kill you, a devil?”

”In fact, After getting that information, I got another order which is to call all the participants to come to the church last night, except for your master and the master of Saber who seemed to be allied with you.”

”Several participants appeared as masters of Rider, Caster, and Berserker who came a bit later. After that, I told them about your appearance, your class, and your master from the Tohsaka family.”

...!!

”H-How about my devil identity?”

”Don’t worry, I didn’t tell them about your identity directly as a devil. But when they asked why I did this, I gave the reason because you are a servant with the identity of God’s enemy, so maybe some of them are figuring out your identity after all.”

”Fuck you, Kirei!”

”HAHAHAHA!”

...!!

Hearing what Kirei did, Kaito felt a great deal of anger because he mocked him-- as that was no different from telling those participants directly about his identity. It does make sense that Ilya might not have cared much about the reason and didn’t understand his identity as an enemy of God, but Medea and Rider must have figured out his identity easily!

Forget about taking advantage of the plot he knows, Kaito realizes that now everyone knows about him and probably even has a weapon that would be effective against him, thanks to this bastard priest!

...

”Damn it! You are the mediator of this holy grail, you are supposed to be neutral!”

”Before I am a judge of holy grail war, I also a priest and devoted believer of the god.”

”You bastard...!!”

”That’s rich, coming off from a devil himself. HAHAHAHA!!”

For the first time since he joined the chat group, Kaito finally meets a real villain that he wants to beat the crap out of him because Kirei is so damn hateful.  He had never felt this level of anger since he was reborn, and Kaito vowed to personally teach him a lesson later!

...

After laughing to his heart’s content, Kirei, who seemed to start getting bored, then stepped on Kaito even harder, causing him to feel even more pain.

”Aargh!”

...!!

”Anyway, you are just a clone anyway, so it is okay for me to kill you, right? Devil-kun.”

...??!!??

’How does he know?!’ Kaito thought in despair and confusion.

Kaito wanted to ask again how even he knew this, but unfortunately, Kirei didn’t plan to give him more chances as he started to torture him more and more.

”Stop it--- Argh!”

Kirei looked at his pained face happily, then continued to press the Black Key towards his neck a little until it bled a little, giving Kaito incredible pain, and could tell he was going to ’burst’ out in a second.

”HAHAHAHA! Scream more, devil!”

”Ha... I-I swear Ha... I-I am gonna kill you l-later! Arrgh!” Kaito screamed in agony while panting.

”HAHAHAHA! I am waiting for it! If you can survive this holy grail war in the first place!”

...!!

Kirei who enjoyed Kaito’s face full of desperation and despair, was in a good mood and decided to give him some more information before he finished him off,

”Since you dare to come here, the devil. Let me tell you something.”

”W-What?”

”It’s impossible for you to win this holy grail war because the winner has been deciding from the beginning!” Kirei screamed in ecstasy and then trusted his Black Key at Kaito’s neck, ”See you next time, devil-kun!”

...!!

Before Kaito could properly process Kirei’s last words, the Black Key was already embedded in his neck---causing Kaito who had been holding on until now to suddenly ’explode’ in smoke because even a living person wouldn’t survive if a sword pierced their neck!

When Kirei killed Kaito’s clone, the real Kaito sitting in the restaurant with the others instantly received all the information the clone had heard... and also the feelings of anger and suffering he had experienced as well.

...!!

”Argh!! It hurts!”

””Kaito?!””

Instantly, Kaito felt phantom pain all over his body, and a deep sinking feeling in his head. His body immediately sweated profusely, with a pale face, making everyone around him worry about what happened to Kaito.

”Big Brother, are you okay?” (Ilya)

”Master?”

”Kaito, what happened?” (Saber)

Hearing their concerns, Kaito quickly replied to make them calm down, ”It’s okay... I just received information from the clone I sent to the church... and felt a headache from the sudden influx of information.”

”What kind of information is giving you a headache?” Saber asked worriedly, ”Can we help?”

”It’s okay, let me calm down and process the information I got for a moment.” Kaito held his head, feeling a terrible headache at the moment, ”Let me digest all the information I got first before I told you what happened.”

...

Although his clone suffered greatly, the information he got from the church alone cleared up a lot of suspicion.

It’s clear that someone behind the scenes is manipulating the plot he knows to change, assisting Kirei in his ’duty’ and perhaps also capable of predicting the future for real, considering he anticipated all of his moves.

...

Starting from the fight with Lancer.

The meeting with Ilya

Even anticipating her arrival by sending a clone to the church!

...

But... who is helping Kirei? Kaito can’t help but starting to speculate and guess the identity of this mastermind.

The biggest suspect he could think of is the system... considering the system has done it before in SAO. it certainly already has a history of making things tasks more difficult... but Kaito also doubts about this because... why the system would do that-- considering he was sure not to break any rules?

Because of this... Kaito then changed his focus to something else, that could also easily predict all things above.... someone with clairvoyance ability.

Gilgamesh opened his omniscient ability?

Merlin?

...Moon cell?

The inhibition force?

Or the worst possibility... the root himself?

...

Kaito now was sure 100% of this change happened because of him, and whatever helped Kirei, that thing was probably the reason why this task was marked as ’very hard’.

And whatever that thing probably also could kill him consider the only system task failure condition is when he dies.

...

In fact, Kaito’s speculation was pretty spot on. At the same time while Kaito racked his brain about what was going on, something happened in the church.

Shortly after Kirei finished off Kaito’s clone, a young teenage girl with a fair appearance, light blonde hair, and light blue eyes came out of the Church door and approached him with a light step.

...

*Tap* *Tap*

Upon hearing the girl’s footsteps getting closer to him, Kirei immediately saluted her, with his expression full of respect and admiration.

”Miss, everything goes as planned.”

”Good work, Kirei.” The girl praised with an amused tone, ”Your selfless action is worthy as the servant of god.”

”Thank you, Princess!”

Hearing the praise from the girl, Kirei felt extremely delighted from the bottom of his heart and then took the initiative to ask, ”Can I ask... I wonder why we can’t kill him yet, miss?”

The girl shook her head and answered, ”Because he is the main protagonist, as people who play antagonist roles, we aren’t supposed to kill him otherwise the story would end up badly.”

”Even though he is a devil?”

”Yes. Being a devil is one thing, his identity is much more special than that.”

The girl licked her lips up and said, ”This world... and myself included, need him to achieve our goals, so we actually have no intention at all of killing him.”

”We just need to make things very difficult for him, according to agreement.” The girl smiled softly and teased, ”Besides, you are also enjoying his suffering look, don’t you?”

”You are correct miss.” Kirei released a hearty laugh and nodded, ”You are absolutely correct.
