The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

”Morning, Kaito.”

”Good morning, Rin.” Kaito greeted back, sighed slightly, and reminded, ”Please wash your hands first before eating, master.”

”I know. Don’t forget to prepare the lunch box for me, okay?”

”Alright.”

...

Several days have passed since Rin summoned Kaito as a servant, working hard for his new master, Tohsaka Rin. Like what EMIYA experienced in the Original, Rin also orders Kaito to work a lot for her, like doing all of the chores around Tohsaka mansion.

However, the difference is that Rin who knew how powerful Kaito was, made him work much harder than EMIYA in the original.

Literally overworked him.

...

”Kaito, that omelet was half-cooked during breakfast. You need to improve your cooking skills.” Rin suggested calmly while sipping on her tea after finishing her breakfast, also prepared to go to school soon.

Hearing her suggestion, Kaito twitched his mouth and complained, ”...I am sorry master, but cooking or doing any chore was never my prime skill.”

”So you never do a chore at your home?”

”I do...” Kaito nodded and then explained, ”However, back in my world, I usually leave them to my maid.”

”Eh, so you have a maid? Well, your face looks like those punchable arrogant rich boys, so I believe you.”

”...”

Although Kaito lived alone for several years, his cooking skills were only slightly above average at best. That is because not only was Kaito not interested in learning cooking skills, but in the High School DxD world, he preferred to learn the means of self-protection like martial arts or brawling skills because Kaito knew how dangerous the world was.

Even right now, Kaito feels he doesn’t have to learn how to cook. After all, Kaito just needs to chat with Erina or Hisako in the chat group if he wants to eat something or ask Sakuya to cook for him which she also learns from Erina.

...

”Rin, Please stop trying your best to piss me off.”

”Pfft... I’m just being honest there.” Ignoring Kaito’s warning, Rin then continued to make a casual remark and asked, ”Anyway, have you cleaned the living room and bathroom?”

”Yes.”

”Very good. How about the fence?”

”Have been re-decorated and the structure has been strengthened.”

”The new pond?”

”Also have been dug out and filled with various of fish you have ordered.”

”How about the unused room?”

”...Has been cleaned also redecorated too.”

”Ohh!!  Every job done in a single night, Good job, Kaito!” Rin clapped her hand excitedly, ”As expected, you are the perfect servant for me!”

*Sigh*

”Master... although I am glad that I am useful for you, are you mistaking me for a literal ’servant’ in this holy grail war?” Kaito complained again.

”Shut up. It’s only took my magic power anyway, and it’s not like you can’t multiply yourself.”

”...”

”Then, Kaito. I will go to school.” Rin took her school bag and then ordered, ”Keep patroling around the city and report me if you find other servant.”

”Create some jewel too if you can, by the way.”

”Also, by the way, please clean the roof today.”

”And then! please create a new bathtub for the bathroom!”

*Sigh* ”...Yes, master.”

Hearing Rin’s multiple orders, Kaito can only sigh in the frustation and do his best to hold the urge to beat his own master.

Thanks to the fact that Rin could see all of his abilities, she made himself split up and do many things under her command. For the first time, Kaito thought that working under Aika wasn’t so bad compared to working under Rin, because at least, Aika didn’t make him split up to be able to do many things at once.

His bad luck this time dealt him a big blow because he had to endure following a master like Rin until the Holy Grail War was over-- since it’s also part of the optional task he need to finish no matter what.

=====

...

The first optional task is the standard ”befriended” protagonist task, except this time Rin is also included. Although Kaito is sure beating his arrogant master probably won’t make him switch sides from an ally, he doesn’t want to try his chance, considering his bad luck has been really ’active’ these days, and with Rin’s attitude, she probably type of person who is going to hold a grudge.

Also considering he needs to build a good relationship with both Shirou and Rin, Kaito quickly assumes it is probably the UBW route plot... though it doesn’t matter too much.

And then the second task... which requires him to achieve a perfect ending where no heroine dies.

While the holy grail war itself is already hard enough, the optional task probably elevates the difficulty to a real hell level because he needs to make sure everyone survives. In certain routes, there is always a chance that some heroine going to die and he needs to prevent them all from dying.

Sakura and Ilya alone have a very high chance of dying... though he already had a plan to save both of their life.

And lastly, the optional task... Kaito still did not understand what it wanted. Become a friend with root? Kaito was sure Root wasn’t even an alive object. Even befriending inhibitor force (Alaya and Gaia) makes more sense than Root itself.

For now, Kaito decides to ignore the last task until he gets the holy grail since to even communicate with Root, he still has to win the holy grail war after all.

And his plan to win this holy grail war... is trying his best to stick to the plot until it deviates a lot from the original (eventually). Besides, he also needs to befriend with protagonist, and using the original plot at the beginning is the best way to achieve that.

From Lancer, Rider, Medea, Hercules, and most importantly Gilgamesh... none of them are easy to fight, especially with his limited energy and no assistance from the system. Although Kaito is confident to win against them all except Gilgamesh, he doesn’t dare to risk the chance and chooses to be cautious.

...

>>>>>

”It has been a week since we are patrolling yet we haven’t found any servant yet.”

On the night of the same day, Kaito and Rin continue their patrol around the city to find another servant of holy grail war, but it seems tonight also no good result.

”Maybe, holy grail war has not started yet?”

Rin held her chin while looking at the city from the school rooftop, and then turned around at her servant, ”What do you think, Kaito?”

”Maybe. I don’t know either.”

Kaito who didn’t have access to chat group memory can’t check the time detail of the plot, so naturally, he is also as clueless as his master.

All he knows is that later their first encounter would be Lancer, Cú Chulainn, here on the rooftop of the school, and he believes such an important plot point with definitely happen regardless Kaito exists or not so he just needs to be patient waiting it happen.

...

”Sometimes, you are not fun to talk with, Kaito.” Rin commented.

’As if I have fun talking with you!’ Kaito cursed inwardly.

Holding his urge to beat this girl, Kaito then asked, ”...Should I apologize for that, master?”

”Maybe, but it’s not a big deal. Don’t worry.”

Rin waved her hand nonchalantly and then exclaimed, ”Rather than that, I guess we can go back early today, so you can produce more gem for me tonight.”

”Pardon me?”

”Go back early. You are going to create a lot of sapphire and topaz pieces today. Don’t worry, I have the example that you can copy.”

Hearing her order, Kaito who has been at the limit of his patience then asked, ”...Can I refuse? You have worked me a lot for the past week, master. At least give me some free time tonight.”

Even Aika still gives him one free day a week, but Tohsaka Rin never tells Kaito to rest at all during this week. Even on the night, she also assigned some jobs to him before sleep.

”What?”

Hearing Kaito’s disobedience, Rin’s eyes sharpened and threatened him, ”Do you want me to use a command spell for this, Kaito?”

”Huh?”

Surprised by Rin’s brainrot answer, Kaito facepalmed and complained, ”Do you seriously want to waste the precious command spell on something like this, master?!”

”Yeah! So what?! Regardless I won or not, I want to be rich with all the gold and jewel you have created so you better work your ass seriously, Kaito!”

”God damn--- ouch! Damn it!”

’This girl is 100x more annoying than Aika!’ Kaito cursed inwardly, while also swore in his heart he would pay this humiliation later.

If not for the optional task, Kaito would already found Medea to help him sever the servant contract with Rin.

No wonder EMIYA in the original plot complained to Rin a lot as her servant, since this girl is conceited and arrogant to the core.

The difference sadly, EMIYA doesn’t have consequences for doing so at Rin, but Kaito is afraid of the potential task failure.

...!!!

While he was doing his best to hold his urge to beat his master, his thoughts were disrupted when his haki detected something coming at them at very high speed, quickly putting Kaito in the position of alert.

Naturally, Kaito quickly guessed the original plot was going to start tonight... which is a good thing since it meant the holy grail war was about to start.

...

”Are you listening, Kaito?! Oii?!”

”...Master, although I want to complain too, too bad we have a guest coming at us.”

”What?”

”Ohh?? You can see me coming from far away?” (???)

...!!

As Rin questioned Kaito, A tall man with blue hair, red eyes, and deep ultramarine full-body tights arrived, sitting on the fence or rooftop while looking down at the two of them.

”A servant?!”

”Stay back, master.”

While Rin was in a panic facing Lancer who giving the impression of a beast, Kaito who was prepared immediately summoned Terminus Est in her sword form from the Gate of Babylon behind him. As a person with future knowledge, he knows Lancer’s purpose being here must be arranged by Kirei-- but for now, he didn’t have any intention to reveal that information to his arrogant master.

...

”Looking at your command spell in your backhand, little girl. You must be a master and that blonde boy is your servant.”

With an arrogant smile yet also a confident expression, Lancer pointed his spear toward Kaito and Rin, intensifying the tense atmosphere.

”...Master, please retreat. It’s too dangerous for you to be here.”

Although he was confident in his ability to take Lancer on, Kaito himself couldn’t guarantee Rin wouldn’t be affected. In the original plot, nothing dangerous happen to Rin, he knows very well that his bad luck might do something so Kaito doesn’t want to risk it.

”Uhh... Then, I will leave him to you, Kaito! Win for me!”

”Sure.”

...

Hearing Kaito’s suggestion, Rin who knows she won’t be a match against the heroic spirit immediately distances herself from Kaito... giving space for both servants to fight.

Anyway, she had confidence in Kaito’s ability so he is not afraid of Kaito losing the fight at all.

If anything, Rin is confident that Lancer is going to be eliminated tonight by her powerful servant.

Meanwhile, Lancer, who aims to fight a strong enemy in this holy grail war, also lets Rin get away from him without any intention of pursuing her.

Besides, his master told him to find out about Rin’s servant and Lancer is certainly more interested in fighting against Kaito who gives him the feeling of being quite a strong man, despite his weak appearance.
