The Misfortune Adventure Of Dimensional Chat Group Owner

After successfully calming Est down and putting her back inside the Gate of Babylon, Kaito walks into the school building where Rin and Shirou are hiding together. After walking for a while (aided by observation haki), Kaito finds them hiding in the school hallway and greets them.

”Good evening, you two. I’m glad you’re both okay.”

Seeing Kaito come in casually, Rin and Shirou breathed a sigh of relief, especially for Shirou who was grateful for Kaito’s act of saving him.

”Thank you for saving me!” Shirou bowed his head slightly at him,  showing his respect.

Kaito just patted his shoulder and replied, ”You are welcome, dude. That was dangerous, but I am glad you are okay.”

Looking at Shirou who had a good impression of him, Kaito curled up a smile in a good mood, knowing his goal was achieved. Even without the task, Kaito already learned that making a friend with the protagonist is always a good thing, and Shirou treats his friend very well too.

He wouldn’t mind making friends with good-natured protagonists, like Kirito and Minato back then.

...

”What’s about you, master?”

Hearing her servant’s question, Rin nodded and asked, ”I am okay. Did you kill that Lancer guy?”

”No, he is getting away from in the last second.”

”...Do you think I am stupid, Kaito?” Rin said while furrowing her eyebrow.

”Uh...”

”With all of your ability, what kind of enemy can get away from you? so, can you be honest to me, my servant?”

...

Knowing all Kaito’s abilities, Rin thinks he must let Lancer away on purpose. After all, in her opinion, her servant is truly overpowered, and she inevitably wins this holy grail war.

Chasing enemy? There is no faster method than teleportation.

Close combat? While swordsmanship isn’t listed in the parameter, Kaito already shows how good he is using a sword.

Getting outnumbered? He also can multiply himself.

Getting shot from afar? He also can observe his surroundings in the distance.

Getting cursed or affected by very troublesome magic? His right-hand antithesis to anything supernatural...!

And let’s not forget about how overpowered his creation ability too... and a lot of messy props Kaito had within his arsenal!

In Rin’s mind, her servant is omnipotent and she truly believes 100% that she is going to be the winner in the end!

...

*Sigh*

Looking at Rin who looked at him with judging and contempt eyes, Kaito just sighed and confessed, ”Yeah... I let him go, but only part of it.”

”So you just admit it easily. Hmmph!”

”...”

Kaito indeed lets Lancer get away from him, but not without reason. In his opinion, killing Lancer right now would only warn Kotomine Kirei and Gilgamesh, and change the plot he knows to beyond predictable-- not even plot correction would save it.

Kaito is not stupid enough to give up his knowledge of the future, his greatest advantage and the key to winning this holy grail war. Until he is sure what route this world’s plot will take (Rin’s, Sakura’s, Artoria’s, or Ilya’s route), Kaito does not plan to make many different moves from the original.

”But... part of it? What do you mean, Kaito?”

”First, He got called back by his master. There is no way I would know where he go, right?”

Although Kirei’s act of summoning Lancer with a command spell was quite confusing, it was indeed the truth. Honestly, this made Kaito feel uneasy, and he planned to investigate what happened at the Fuyuki church later.

”Ohh... Then what is another part?”

”Because I am more concerned with your safety, master.”

”Okay.”

From her expression, Rin didn’t believe Kaito’s answer at all but at least this time, she just accepted his answer indeed made sense. After all, a servant’s main duty besides fighting was to protect their master, and even Rin wouldn’t deny it.

”...Well, at least you managed to consume one command spell from an opponent. Good job, Kaito. You are not so useless.”

”Thank you, master.”

Kaito who gets used to her rude remark quickly ignores her and focuses back on Shirou who has quietly watching for a while, ”Anyway, have you explained what’s going on tonight to him, master?”

”Why I should? If anything, I plan to erase his memories now.” Rin commented, which surprised Shirou who was eager to know the truth.

”What? Erase memories? Why?”

”You should be aware that you have seen something that you shouldn’t witness. It’s standard procedure.” Rin explained calmly and then added, ”It’s also no good for you to know what’s going on, you are going to put yourself in danger.”

As a magus, Rin knows that they are not supposed to reveal the existence of magic to civilians (like Shirou). Whenever something like this happens, the usual procedure is to erase the memory of the victim to prevent the leak of knowledge of magic.

...

”Don’t be haste, master.”

Although Rin’s answer is reasonable, Kaito plans to let Shirou summon his servant tonight so he quickly comes up with a suggestion.

”What do you mean, Kaito? Do you want to endanger him?”

”He is one of the seven master candidates who has not summoned a servant yet, so I think he deserves to know what’s happening.”

...!!?

”A master?” (Shirou)

”Huh? Really? This boy? How did you know that?!” (Rin)

While Shirou was still confused about what Kaito said, Rin who heard it was shocked by what her servant said. If Kaito’s words are true, Shirou indeed has the right to know what’s going on and could potentially even become her enemy!

”Let’s say, I also can vaguely predict the future content. It’s just not listed on my parameter for unknown reason.”

Kaito knows that without revealing his card, there is no way his stupid master would believe him. After all, in the original plot, Tohsaka Rin just ignored this guy until Shirou summoned Artoria.

...

”Ah, like your swordsmanship. Got it. So, you still have a lot of hidden abilities I didn’t know of.”

Honestly, Rin became happier hearing Kaito’s ability to see the future, because she was more confident in winning this holy grail war. It’s just--- ”So, you can predict the future, how did you let Lancer get away from you earlier? You must have a purpose for doing it.”

”Uhh... I will explain what happened later, but for now, let’s focus on the topic.”

Kaito knows he really to explain everything later to them to make them cooperate, but for now, he needs to make sure Shirou will summon Saber tonight.

For the plot, and Shirou’s own safety in this unpredictable holy grail war.

”Alright.”

Accepting Kaito’s answer, Rin then looked at Shirou maliciously and suggested, ”Is it better to just eliminate him then? Less participants mean a higher chance for us to win this holy grail war.”

Hearing Rin’s suggestion, Kaito who is usually patient with her master can’t help but retorted, ”Are you stupid, master?!”

”Who are you calling stupid, Kaito?!”

”Listen, master. If you kill him, the master qualification just going to someone else.” Kaito said with a deadpan tone, which made Rin quite embarrassed. She has indeed forgotten about that and admits she was acting recklessly earlier.

”Ah, I forget about that. My bad~ It’s not my fault though. After all, we need to eliminate all participants to win this holy grail war!” Rin tries to reason, but Kaito only feels more disgusted at his master.

*Sigh*

’Calm down Kaito, you just need to hang on for several days with her... remember the holy grail war didn’t last for long’ Kaito thought repeatedly, to stop the urge to beat this girl up.

Despite being a pretty girl, Tohsaka Rin is the worst person Kaito has ever seen so far, maybe even surpassing Riser Phenex. Kaito promised the moment his task was done, he would immediately sever the contract with Rin and pay back all the treatment she had done to him later on!

”This red-haired boy servant will help us a lot later to defeat a very difficult servant.”

”...Is that so? Is it from your future vision?”

”Yes.”

”I trust you, Kaito. But I really can’t believe there’s a servant you can’t handle in this holy grail war.”

”...I do have a way to beat him, but I would rather be cautious than sorry, master.” Kaito seriously said and then begged, ”I am going to explain everything I know later but for now, please cooperate with me, master.”

With the combination of multiple props, Kaito still had confidence that he could take on Gilgamesh... But it will consume a massive amount of energy for sure. And while Rin is an excellent master, Kaito doubts that Rin could withstand the mana consumption if he goes all out anyway. However, Kaito also has some ’custom holy grail’ that could serve as a temporary energy bank to use in an emergency... but that’s beside the point.

Hearing Kaito’s very serious answer, Rin finally gave in and cooperated. She knew Kaito wasn’t the type to joke about serious things, and as a master, she needed to work together with her servant to win this holy grail war.

”Alright, I’ll follow your idea, since you beg for it.” Rin then turned to Shirou arrogantly and asked him, ”Then, can we come to your house, Emiya? It’s going to be quite a long story to explain everything.”

”Uh... Okay.”

After that, Rin, Shirou, and Kaito head to Emiya’s residence to explain what the holy grail war is and all the rules. In addition, persuaded by Kaito, Rin also decides to help Shirou with the servant summoning ritual and in the process successfully summons Saber like in the original.
