Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)

”You’re right,” Su Yubing said. ”We cannot destroy you completely. Darkness is part of the balance too. But we can seal you away again, more thoroughly than before.”

She held up the myriad duo world connector. ”This treasure doesn’t just connect the human and demon worlds. It connects all realms. Including the one where you belong.”

The orb began to spin faster, the worlds within it blurring together. A portal opened in front of the Dark God, showing a realm of emptiness – neither light nor dark, just... nothing.

”No!” the Dark God cried, trying to pull away from the portal’s pull. ”You cannot send me there! I am a god!”

”You are an anomaly,” Mo Yuxin said firmly. ”And now you will return to where you belong.”

Together, they pushed their power through the orb one final time. The portal widened, and the pull became irresistible. The Dark God’s body began to dissolve, drawn particle by particle into the empty realm.

”I will return!” his voice echoed as he faded away. ”Someday, I will find a way back!”

”And we will be waiting,” Su Yubing promised.

With a final scream of rage, the Dark God vanished completely. The portal closed with a sound like thunder, and the myriad duo world connector grew calm in Su Yubing’s hands.

Below them, the battle had stopped. Everyone, Cangran Sect members and dark followers alike, had witnessed the defeat of the Dark God. Without their master’s power, the dark followers began to change. The red glow faded from their eyes, and confusion replaced hatred in their expressions.

Wu Sanxing approached the temple steps, limping slightly from his wounds. ”It’s over?” he asked, looking up at Su Yubing and Mo Yuxin.

Su Yubing nodded. ”It’s over. The Dark God has been sealed away.”

A cheer went up from the Cangran Sect, spreading across the battlefield. The news traveled quickly, reaching the human cities where Tan Qingxuan and Tong Rouxi still fought to protect the civilians.

When they heard of the victory, they embraced in relief, their love shining in their eyes. ”They did it,” Tan Qingxuan whispered. ”Our brave disciples did it.”

Tong Rouxi smiled, tears of joy streaming down her face. ”I never doubted them for a moment.”

Back at the battlefield, Su Yubing and Mo Yuxin descended the temple steps, their extraordinary powers still visible around them. Everyone they passed bowed deeply, humans and demons alike. Word of their victory spread like wildfire across both worlds.

In the days that followed, representatives from human and demon realms gathered at Cangran Mountain to honor the heroes and to rebuild the alliance that had been damaged by the Dark God’s schemes. Leaders from both worlds signed a new treaty, vowing never again to let hatred and fear drive them apart.

Su Yubing, still glowing with her awakened power, addressed the gathering. ”For too long, we have been suspicious of each other, forgetting that we share this world. Freya created demons first, but she loved humans equally. We are all her children, and we should live as she intended – in harmony.”

The myriad duo world connector floated above her, its glow touching everyone present. Many felt a strange sensation, as if something long broken was finally being repaired.

Mo Yuxin stepped forward to stand beside Su Yubing. The thunder energy still sparked around her occasionally, especially when she was emotional. ”The Dark God used our differences to turn us against each other,” she said. ”But our differences are our strength when we work together.”

Cheers erupted from the crowd, humans and demons alike celebrating the new era of peace. The four main disciples of the Cangran Sect – Xu Xian, Bai Xuzhen, and the others – stood proudly behind their leaders. They had fought bravely to protect the human cities, and now they would help rebuild the alliance.

Master Tan Qingxuan and Grandmaster Tong Rouxi watched from the side, their hands clasped together. Their love had survived wars and centuries, and now they could share it openly in this new age of harmony.

”They have grown so much,” Tong Rouxi said softly, watching Su Yubing and Mo Yuxin.

Tan Qingxuan nodded. ”They have surpassed us, I think. Their power together is something new, something we never imagined possible.”

As the celebrations continued, Su Yubing and Mo Yuxin slipped away to a quiet spot on Cangran Mountain. The view stretched out before them – rolling hills, forests, and in the distance, the glittering lights of human cities.

”It’s beautiful,” Mo Yuxin said, leaning against Su Yubing. ”Both worlds, living in peace.”

Su Yubing wrapped an arm around her waist. ”Thanks to you. Your courage, your love... without them, I would never have awakened my true power.”

Mo Yuxin turned to face her, the blue lightning in her eyes softening. ”And without you, I would never have discovered my own bloodline. We truly are stronger together.”

They leaned toward each other, their lips meeting in a kiss that seemed to make the very air around them glow. Su Yubing’s red energy and Mo Yuxin’s blue lightning swirled together, creating a beautiful purple light that illuminated the mountainside.

But as they kissed, something strange happened. A voice, neither human nor demon, spoke directly into their minds:

”Objective achieved. The first core of Sha has been damaged. Memories would return in 10...9...8...”

They pulled apart, startled.

”Did you hear that?” Mo Yuxin asked, her eyes wide.

Su Yubing nodded, the myriad duo world connector pulsing rapidly in her hand. ”What does it mean? What is Sha?”

”7...6...5...” the countdown continued in their minds.

They looked at each other, confusion and a strange anticipation growing between them. Something was happening, something beyond even their understanding.

”Whatever comes next,” Mo Yuxin said, taking Su Yubing’s hand, ”we’ll face it together.”

Su Yubing nodded, squeezing Mo Yuxin’s hand. ”Together. Always.”

”4...3...2...”

Around them, the world seemed to hold its breath. The celebration below continued, unaware of the strange countdown happening on the mountainside. Humans and demons danced together, shared food and stories, and began to heal the wounds of the past.

”1...”

Su Yubing and Mo Yuxin closed their eyes, holding each other tightly as the final number echoed in their minds. Whatever came next, they would face it as they had faced everything else – side by side, their love and their combined power creating something greater than either world had ever known before.

And as forgotten memories began to flow back into their minds, they stood firm in their embrace, ready for whatever new adventure awaited them.

..

..

As the final number of the countdown echoed in their minds, Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing gasped in unison. A flood of images, sounds, and feelings rushed through them like a waterfall. Memories long forgotten surged back, filling the empty spaces they hadn’t even realized were there.

They remembered a world different from this one—a realm of soaring mountains that floated in the sky, of grand cultivation palaces built from materials that shimmered with inner light. They saw themselves in different robes, with different names, wielding powers both familiar and strange.

The memories of the Azure dragon city, the memories of their loved ones and many more memories slowly came back to them.

Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing slowly remembered everything. Their first meeting in the dark moon forest. Their journey through the trials of forebears and how they met with the ancient beings, ’Law’ and her lover ’Life’. How they found out that Mo Yuxin was actually the successor of the ancient being ’Rule’ and Su Yubing is the reincarnation of ’Death’. How they first came to know if ’Sha’ and his five cores, one of which was the dark god in this world, their mission—volunteered for and vital—to enter this world and locate the first core of a malevolent entity known as Sha, which threatened not just one reality but many. The Dark God had been merely its manifestation in this realm, taking advantage of the natural tensions between humans and demons to grow in power. Now that they have defeated the first core of Sha, their objective in this reincarnation is completed and their synchronisation with ’Rule’ and ’death’ has gotten one step closer. Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing could also vaguely feel anf utilise the source energy, ’chaos’ and their powers as rule and death has also grown a little.

Though, much of it is yet to explore but for now, this is enough.

As the flood of memories settled, a clear message formed in both their minds:

”First core of Sha successfully damaged. Connection stabilized. Return pathway accessible when needed. Secondary mission parameters may proceed at discretion.”

Mo Yuxin looked at Su Yubing with wonder in her eyes. ”We... we did it. We actually did it.”

Su Yubing nodded slowly, her expression a mixture of amazement and sadness. ”We’ve been here for hundreds of years, through multiple lifetimes, all for this moment.”

Mo Yuxin suddenly pulled Su Yubing into a tight embrace, burying her face against her shoulder. ”I’m sorry,” she whispered, voice trembling. ”I really treated you badly in this life.”

Su Yubing laughed softly, the sound filled with affection as she stroked Mo Yuxin’s hair. ”It’s okay. It wasn’t bad at all. You were just being cautious, as you should have been without your memories.”

They held each other quietly for a moment, processing the enormity of what they had just remembered. The moon shone down on them, bathing their figures in silver light.

”We can go back to our world now that we’ve achieved the objective,” Su Yubing said at last, pulling back slightly to look into Mo Yuxin’s eyes. ”But... the bonds we have created in this world. What should we do about them?”

Her voice caught as she continued, ”And especially, our Wuqi... our little baby...”

”It’s not just Wuqi,” Mo Yuxin said softly. ”It’s everyone. Master Tan, Grandmaster Tong, our sect siblings... We’ve built a life here.”

They both fell silent, caught in the same dilemma. They had completed their mission and could return to their original world, where their true bodies waited. But this world had become home too, with connections and love that felt just as real as anything in their original realm.

”Let’s think about it later,” Mo Yuxin finally said, taking Su Yubing’s hand. ”For now, we should spend more time with our loved ones and our Wuqi. More importantly, I think Master and Grandmaster already have a hunch about our true identities.”

Su Yubing sighed and leaned her forehead against Mo Yuxin’s. ”Mmm... we can go back to our world anytime we want. There’s no rush to decide.”

Mo Yuxin reached up to touch Su Yubing’s face, tracing the curve of her cheek with gentle fingers. ”No matter what we choose, we’ll be together. That’s the only thing that matters.”

Su Yubing closed her eyes, leaning into the touch. ”Always together. Through every lifetime, every world.”

They kissed again under the moonlight, their energies mingling and dancing around them. In that moment, nothing else mattered—not their mission, not their dual identities, not the decision that awaited them. There was only their love, tested through centuries and stronger than ever.

The days following the Dark God’s defeat were filled with activity. Word of the victory spread quickly through both human and demon realms. What had begun as preparation for war transformed into celebration of peace.

The dark followers, freed from the Dark God’s influence, were confused and disoriented. Many had no memory of their actions while under his control. Su Yubing, in her role as Demon Lord, showed mercy to those who sought forgiveness, while ensuring justice for those who had willingly embraced the darkness.

Medicine Valley, once corrupted by the Dark God’s influence, was cleansed by a joint effort of human and demon healers. The ancient herbs and remedies that had been twisted for dark purposes were destroyed, and new seedlings were planted in their place—symbols of renewal and hope.

At Wuhuan Pass, where armies had gathered for battle, a monument was erected instead—a stone column inscribed with the new treaty between humans and demons. Representatives from both sides signed it in a ceremony attended by thousands. The treaty promised cooperation, respect, and mutual protection, honoring the memory of Goddess Freya who had loved both races equally.
