Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)

Mo Yuxin’s heart shattered the moment she saw Su Yubing lying there, barely clinging to life on the cold stone floor. The air around them seemed to thicken with sorrow as blood still seeped from Su Yubing’s cracked lips. Mo Yuxin cradled her beloved in her arms, her trembling fingers brushing gently across Su Yubing’s tear-streaked face. In that unbearable instant, her mind raced, her thoughts jumbled into incoherent whispers.

”Su… Yubing… please… wake up…” Mo Yuxin murmured, her voice breaking as she pressed her cheek against Su Yubing’s cool skin. ”I… I’m so sorry. I should have protected you… I should have… oh, why didn’t I…?” Her words trailed off into hiccups and stuttering sobs, her eyes wide with panic and despair. Every beat of her heart hammered the realization that she might lose the one person who meant everything to her.

In the dim, echoing chamber of the dungeon, time seemed to stretch. The once-fierce aura of thunder around Mo Yuxin now flickered weakly, mirroring her inner turmoil. Su Yubing lay motionless, her body bathed in a sickly, fading aura that spoke of the brink of death. The vibrant red glow that had once burned fiercely in her eyes was now dimming, and her breathing had grown shallow, nearly imperceptible.

Around them, the other sisters—Xu Xian, Bai Xuzhen, Tianji Yuan, and Bai Lingshu—hovered with heavy hearts. Their expressions were etched with grief and helplessness, their usual banter replaced by solemn silence. Xu Xian’s flames, normally bright and bold, flickered uncertainly; Bai Xuzhen’s watery calm was disturbed by quiet sniffles; Tianji Yuan’s playful illusions had faded into a soft, melancholic haze; and Bai Lingshu’s dark shadows seemed to retreat in sorrow. They exchanged glances but found no words that could mend the agony of the moment.

Mo Yuxin’s voice, however, broke through the stillness as she spoke to Su Yubing, even if her words were barely audible. ”Su… Yubing… I’m here… please, don’t leave me,” she pleaded, her tone desperate and raw. ”I—I don’t know what to do without you. I’m so lost… Please, wake up for me…” Her words tumbled out in a disjointed stream, each syllable carrying the weight of regret and fear.

For a long, excruciating minute, nothing happened. Su Yubing’s eyes remained closed, her chest barely rising with each shallow breath. Mo Yuxin’s tears streamed down her cheeks as she held her tightly, her fingers clutched around Su Yubing’s limp hand. ”I’m sorry… I’m so sorry for forgetting… for letting you slip away,” she whispered, guilt overwhelming her. ”I promised…I promised I’d never leave you… please come back to me.” Her voice wavered as she spoke, the words laden with every memory, every promise they had ever shared.

As Mo Yuxin cradled Su Yubing, an inexplicable warmth began to stir above them. In the darkness of the dungeon ceiling, a brilliant light slowly descended like a falling star. It was as if the very soul of the great demon sage, freed moments ago by Su Yubing’s desperate act of mercy, had not entirely vanished but had been waiting for this moment. The radiant essence glowed with a soft, ethereal light, its brilliance cutting through the gloom like a beacon of hope.

A voice, gentle yet filled with ancient wisdom, resonated in the silence. ”My dear junior, thank you for your unwavering devotion,” it said, each word imbued with a quiet power. The light shimmered and pulsed as if it were breathing. Mo Yuxin, still cradling Su Yubing, stared in awe as the essence descended closer, its glow intensifying.

The luminous fragment—the last bit of the great sage’s soul—hovered just above Su Yubing’s still form. Its light was pure and warm, radiating a promise of healing and renewal. ”I bestow upon you what remains of my essence,” the voice continued softly. ”Let it mend what has been broken, and let love conquer despair.” As if in response, the radiant energy coalesced into a delicate, silvery thread that reached out, touching Su Yubing’s brow gently.

For a moment, the entire dungeon seemed to hold its breath. Mo Yuxin’s heart pounded in her ears as the thread of light wove around Su Yubing, its touch both tender and powerful. She felt a surge of warmth coursing through Su Yubing’s body, and, in that instance, the heavy pall of death began to lift. The light burned away the remnants of agony, filling the space with an almost tangible sense of hope.

Mo Yuxin’s mind swirled with emotion—regret, relief, and overwhelming love intermingled in a turbulent cascade. ”Please… please heal her,” she whispered, her voice barely audible as she pressed her forehead against Su Yubing’s. ”I can’t lose you… I won’t ever let you go again.” In that moment, the vivid images of their shared past, long suppressed, rushed back into her consciousness. Memories of battles fought side by side, laughter shared under stormy skies, and quiet moments of tender intimacy with Su Yubing surged forth. The recollections were hazy and fragmented, like shards of a forgotten dream, but they were enough to ignite a desperate hope in her heart.

Tears streamed down Mo Yuxin’s face as she clutched Su Yubing tighter, her voice trembling with newfound determination. ”I’m sorry…I forgot so much, but I remember now,” she cried out. ”I remember the promises, the love, the laughter… and I promise, I promise I will never leave you again. Please, my love, come back to me.” Her words echoed through the chamber as the luminous energy from the great sage’s soul enveloped them both in a dazzling, otherworldly glow.

The miraculous phenomenon was breathtaking. Su Yubing, whose body had been frail and on the verge of collapse, now began to change. The radiant energy seemed to seep into her very core, igniting every fiber of her being. Slowly, as if drawn upward by an unseen force, her body lifted from the cold stone floor. Mo Yuxin, still holding her, felt as if she were weightless—a mixture of awe and terror gripping her heart.

The golden, silvery light that descended from above swirled around Su Yubing, wrapping her in a cocoon of pure, vibrant energy. It was as if every pain, every mark of suffering, was being burned away, replaced by the healing warmth of a thousand suns. The energy flowed like liquid starlight, mending her shattered meridians and restoring the lost vitality of her body. Each pulse of light was accompanied by a soft hum, a celestial melody that resonated with the promise of rebirth.

Mo Yuxin’s mind raced with thoughts as she watched, dazed and tearful. Is this real? Can love truly mend what seems irreparable? Her inner voice whispered through the chaos of her emotions as she clung desperately to Su Yubing. In that suspended moment, time appeared to slow, the only sound the soft, rhythmic beat of their hearts and the gentle whisper of the celestial energy that filled the chamber.

”Su… Yubing,” Mo Yuxin murmured repeatedly, her voice a blend of awe and pleading, ”please, wake up… please come back to me.” Every syllable was a raw plea, a promise that she would protect her, cherish her, and never let her go again. The radiant light intensified, swirling faster around Su Yubing until it seemed to merge with her very form. Mo Yuxin felt the power of that ancient essence seep into her beloved, mending what had been broken, healing wounds both seen and unseen.

Inside her own heart, Mo Yuxin felt the deep, hidden memories stirring—memories of a time long past, of battles fought with fearless resolve, of love that transcended time and space. The recollections were vague, a series of flashes and whispers, but they were enough to fortify her resolve. A single tear, warm and shimmering, rolled down her cheek as she looked upon Su Yubing’s transformed figure.

The energy’s glow began to soften, and as the brilliant light gradually subsided, a change came over Su Yubing. Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, their red glow softening into a gentle amber. For a heartbeat, there was silence as everyone held their breath. Then, with a quiet, almost fragile movement, Su Yubing sat up, her gaze meeting Mo Yuxin’s through the haze of exhaustion and wonder.

Mo Yuxin, still kneeling beside her, could hardly believe what she was witnessing. ”Su… Yubing… please, you’re back,” she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. She reached out tentatively, cupping Su Yubing’s cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin, now alive with renewed energy. ”I—I promise, I’ll never leave you again. I’m so sorry for not taking care of you… for forgetting what mattered most.” Her voice cracked as she continued, ”You’re my everything. I can’t lose you. Please, my love, stay with me.”

Su Yubing’s gaze was soft and filled with a quiet determination as she rose slowly from the floor. Her body, once frail and broken, now radiated a subtle, luminous power—a stark contrast to the darkness that had nearly claimed her life moments ago. With a gentle, unsteady smile, she leaned toward Mo Yuxin. In that tender moment, their eyes locked, and the unspoken promise between them resounded like the echo of a timeless vow.

”You promised, didn’t you?” Su Yubing murmured softly as she reached out and brushed her fingers over Mo Yuxin’s tear-streaked face. ”You said you’d never leave me…” Her voice was both fragile and resolute. Then, with a gentle, almost reverent tenderness, she pressed a soft kiss to Mo Yuxin’s cheek. ”I’m here now,” she whispered, her words laced with both relief and a newfound strength. ”I’ll never go away again.”

Around them, the remaining sisters watched in a mix of joy and quiet sorrow. Xu Xian, Bai Xuzhen, Tianji Yuan, and Bai Lingshu gathered close, their expressions reflecting the profound relief of witnessing this miracle. They offered no grand speeches—only supportive glances and soft, reassuring touches. Their bonds, forged in the heat of battle and deepened by shared loss, now shone brighter than ever.

Inside Mo Yuxin’s heart, the once-suppressed memories stirred again, echoing faintly like whispers of a long-forgotten song. She knew that her journey had only just begun—that there were still secrets to unearth and promises to keep. But in that moment, as she clutched Su Yubing tightly and gazed into her recovering eyes, all the darkness and despair of the past melted away, replaced by a radiant hope and a fierce determination to protect the love they shared.

”Su… Yubing, I will never forget this moment,” Mo Yuxin vowed, her voice steady now, even as tears still glistened on her cheeks. ”I promise, from this day forward, I will guard every memory of us, every promise we made. I won’t let go, no matter what comes our way.” Her words were a vow—a silent pledge that echoed in the quiet of the dungeon, binding their souls together with unbreakable strength.

Su Yubing’s smile grew, tentative yet filled with the warmth of rebirth. ”I know,” she whispered, softly touching Mo Yuxin’s hand. ”I feel it in my heart. We’ll face everything together. I’m not lost anymore.” Her voice, though still weak, resonated with a resolve that belied the fragility of her body. ”Thank you… for saving me, for believing in me even when I couldn’t.”

Mo Yuxin’s gaze softened, and she pressed her forehead against Su Yubing’s once more. ”You’re my life, Su… Yubing. I’m so sorry for everything,” she repeated, her words merging with the lingering echoes of ancient memories and renewed hope. ”I’ll hold you close, and I’ll never let you fade away again.”

In that magical, transformative moment, the dungeon was filled with a gentle light—a testament to love, sacrifice, and the enduring power of hope. As the light faded into a serene glow, the bonds between them were sealed with a quiet promise that would carry them through every trial to come.

And so, in the dim light of that cold, ancient dungeon, amid echoes of battles past and whispers of forgotten memories, a miracle was born. Su Yubing, revived by the lingering essence of the great sage, now stood as a beacon of hope—a symbol that even in the darkest moments, love could heal the deepest wounds. Mo Yuxin, still trembling but resolute, knew that they had been given a second chance—a chance to mend what was broken and to face the future with courage and unwavering devotion.

The sisters gathered around them, their shared silence speaking volumes. In that moment, every tear shed and every whispered apology was a promise—a promise of unity, of protection, and of a love that would never be lost again. And as Su Yubing slowly reached out to Mo Yuxin, touching her face with gentle fingers and planting a tender kiss on her cheek, she whispered, ”You promised… don’t ever leave me again.”

Mo Yuxin, still dazed and overcome with emotion, looked up into Su Yubing’s eyes, which now shone with hope and a quiet strength. ”I promise,” she replied softly, her voice steady despite the tremors of her heart. ”I promise with every beat of my heart that I’ll never leave you again.”

In that sacred silence, amid the soft glow of healing light and the gentle murmur of reunited hearts, the two lovers remained entwined—a testament to the power of love, memory, and the unyielding promise of a future forged in the embers of their past.
