Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)

”Then, do you think that just by repairing the sword body, you can also repair the wounded heart of your sword spirit? Your sword spirit is also bonded with your wife’s sword spirit and if your sword spirit is heartbroken then your wife’s sword spirit would also stay heartbroken which in turn will make your wife unhappy, right?”

Xiu Xian was a little confused by Su Yubing’s words but she still weirdly felt that what she said was right and nodded in response.

Su Yubing smiled slightly before continuing,

”People like fancy clothes and shiny and expensive jwellery, right? So do sword spirits. Currently even if your repair it, your sword is still like an empty and dull cave which still has traces of neglect and damages. Sword body is a sword spirit’s one and only home. How would you feel if you had to live in an old and abandoned cave for all your life? I can see that you love your sword but your goodness may seem superficial to your sword spirit if you don’t take her conditions seriously. You should listen to your sword spirit more and try to fulfill her material needs. Just look at your sword, it looks shiny yet dull and without any emotions.”

As Xiu Xian listened to Su Yubing’s words with a focusd mind, the astonishment on her face slowly turned into determination. She raised her sleeves and saluted towards Su Yubing and said respectfully like a little student who has recognised her teacher,

”Thank you Zhangwo! I understand.”

When Mo Yuxin had just completed repairing the sword, she looked at the shiny and new body of th swords and nodded with satisfaction before she turned around to meet the expectant gaze of the female monk.

But before she could even say anything or show the sword to her, she immediately heard the female swordsman say,

”Yuanjun!! I want to give my Salamander a beautiful home!!”

Usually, after repairing the sword, the female cultivator would hold the sword with a look of joy and happily communicate with the sword spirit Salamander. However, at this moment, Mo Yuxin could clearly feel the trace of desire and a new expectations in her words.

She was a little confused about what was going on and lowered her head to take another look at the sword before looking up and meeting the same gaze of the latter

Mo Yuxin frowned, not understanding the meaning beind her words and looked at her as if to say, ’go on, say more’.

”Yuanjun, don’t you also feel that salamander is a bit too plain? Like, it looks shiny but doesn’t feel homely? Wouldn’t it better to decorate the sword body somehow and make it a new and exquisite looking home for my little salamander!”

Mo Yuxin finally understood what she meant. But she only paid attention to practicality and minimality when refining and repairing weapons or other objects.

But if a big spender has any other requests, it’s not impossible to meet it. Though additional spirit stones must be paid for it.

But thinking of the pitiful amount of decorative material that she had with her, Mo Yuxin simply shook her head and said,

”Sorry.. I don’t have....”

Su Yubing’s smile widened, as she interrupted Mo Yuxin’s refusal, a mischievous glint in her eyes. ”I have... quite a collection, actually. A cultivator’s life, you know, involves accumulating more than just cultivation levels.” She gestured with a flourish, and a series of shimmering storage pouches materialized in the air, each radiating a faint, ethereal glow.

”Let’s see,” she mused, tapping a finger against her chin. ”For a sword spirit as fiery as Salamander, we need something that captures her essence, something that reflects her power and beauty.” She opened one pouch, and a cascade of crimson light spilled out, revealing a collection of polished ruby shards. ”These are the Tears of the Fire Phoenix, imbued with the purest flame essence. They’ll add a vibrant, fiery glow to the sword’s hilt and guard.”

Next, she opened another pouch, and a soft, silvery light filled the air. ”These are the scales of a Lunar Serpent, shed under the light of a full moon. They’re incredibly resilient and possess a subtle, ethereal shimmer. They’d make exquisite inlays for the sword’s blade, catching the light and reflecting it like moonlight on water.”

She then produced a small, intricately carved box. Opening it, she revealed a collection of tiny, lightning-shaped crystals. ”These are Thunderstone fragments, remnants of a celestial storm. They resonate with pure lightning energy and would add a dynamic, crackling aura to the sword, complementing Salamander’s elemental affinity.”

”And for a touch of elegance,” she continued, opening a final pouch, ”these are strands of Celestial Silk, woven from the threads of starlight. They’re incredibly fine and possess a subtle, iridescent sheen. They’d make a beautiful wrapping for the sword’s hilt, adding a touch of celestial grace.”

Xiu Xian’s eyes widened, her jaw slightly agape. She had never seen such exquisite materials, let alone imagined them being used to decorate a sword. ”These are... incredible!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with awe. ”But... are you sure you want to give them to me?”

Su Yubing chuckled. ”Hahaha... As long as you can pay for them,” she said, winking. ”A happy sword spirit makes for a more powerful sword, and a more powerful sword makes for a more powerful cultivator. Besides,” she added, her voice softening, ”I believe in the bond between you and Salamander. Such a connection deserves to be celebrated.”

Xiu Xian looked at Su Yubing with a grateful look on her face and said,

”Thank you, fellow Daoist Su Yubing! Spiritual stones are not a problem at all! With how precious these materials are, how about one million spirit stones!”

The moment, Mo Yuxin heard the number, her eyes were almost about to pop out of her socket!

The transformation of the spirit sword was indeed related to Su Yubing, but how could it cost one million?!!! Her own repair just costs a little over 15,000 spirit stones!

One million!! It’s about one tenth of the revenue generated by her entire Cangran sect in a year!!! All that money for just a sword!!! She knew that the female monk was rich, but she couldn’t believe that she would get one million so easily! After all, it’s her wife’s hard earned money!!

But Mo Yuxin didn’t know that the said wife of the female swordsman just casually sent her one million spirit stones at the first mention!

Suddenly, Mo Yuxin remembered, how could Su Yubing have such expensive materials in her hand!! Isn’t she in huge debt and isn’t able to repay them!!

Mo Yuxin’s mind was buzzing. But now was not the time to ask questions, so she just took a few deep breaths and calmed herself down before saying,

””These materials are indeed exceptional. But they’ll require a skilled artisan to work with them. Simply attaching them to the sword won’t suffice. They need to be integrated into the design, enhancing its natural beauty and power.”

”That’s where you come in, Yuanjun,” Su Yubing said, her smile widening. ”You’re the master artisan, after all. With your skill and these materials, you can create a masterpiece.”

Mo Yuxin hesitated, her gaze lingering on the shimmering treasures. She had never worked with such exotic materials before, and the challenge intrigued her. ”Very well,” she said, her voice firm. ”But this will require time and precision. And, of course, additional spirit stones for the labor and fine tuning of the weapon after such modifications.”

”Of course, of course!” Xiu Xian said, nodding eagerly. ”Whatever it takes to make Salamander happy.”

With the agreement reached, Mo Yuxin began to plan the design, her mind buzzing with ideas. She envisioned the ruby shards forming a fiery halo around the hilt, the Lunar Serpent scales creating a mesmerizing pattern along the blade, the Thunderstone fragments adding a crackling energy to the guard, and the Celestial Silk wrapping the hilt in a soft, ethereal embrace.

The next few hours were a blur of activity. Mo Yuxin worked tirelessly, her hands moving with practiced precision, her mind focused on creating a harmonious blend of materials and design. She carefully integrated each element, ensuring that it not only enhanced the sword’s beauty but also its power.

As she worked, she began to understand the depth of the bond between Xiu Xian and Salamander. She saw the love and devotion that Xiu Xian had for her sword spirit, and she felt a sense of responsibility to create a home worthy of such a connection.

Finally, the sword was complete. It was a masterpiece, a testament to Mo Yuxin’s skill and Su Yubing’s generosity. The ruby shards glowed with an inner fire, the Lunar Serpent scales shimmered like moonlight, the Thunderstone fragments crackled with energy, and the Celestial Silk wrapped the hilt in a soft, iridescent glow.

When Xiu Xian saw the finished product, her eyes filled with tears. She held the sword aloft, and a wave of pure joy washed over her. ”Salamander,” she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion, ”look at your new home.”

A moment later, a fiery aura erupted from the sword, and a small, serpentine figure materialized in the air. It was Salamander, her form shimmering with golden light. She circled the sword, her eyes wide with wonder, before nuzzling against Xiu Xian’s cheek.

”Thank you,” Xiu Xian said, her voice choked with emotion. ”Thank you, Yuanjun. Thank you, Zhangwo.”

Su Yubing smiled, her heart filled with warmth. ”You’re welcome,” she said. ”May Salamander’s new home bring you both joy and power.”
