Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)

Mo Yuxin, though not as outwardly emotional, felt a sense of satisfaction. She had created something truly special, a weapon that was not only powerful but also beautiful, a reflection of the love and devotion between a cultivator and her sword spirit. She had also made an important step in changing her own perspective on weapons and spirits, and understood that sometimes, beauty and feeling were just as important as pure function.

After Xiu Xian took the sword, she left happily with it in her arms as the sword spirit was finally willing to communicate with her. She paid the one million spirit stones to Su Yubing and left with a bright and satisfied smile on her face as she continued to communicate with her wife through the hongmen.

”Wifeyy!!! I’m coming back!! I will bring you a nice surprise!! Hehehe ..”

Mo Yuxin turned her head and stared at Su Yubing and when she saw her openly collecting the proceeds of her labour and didn’t even mention about sharing a single spirit stone, Mo Yuxin couldn’t help but a little aggrieved in her heart.

Suddenly, Su Yubing spoke with a soft voice,

”Yuxin, Do you want some spirit stones? How about one thousand for your labour?”

Mo Yuxin remained silent but she glared at her with her aggrieved eyes.

But she didn’t speak. There were a lot of monks outside of her store who were still waiting for her to repair their magic tools. And she said something wrong at this time, it would definitely spread throughout the world through the hongmen and her rumors would get more and more outrageous. She didn’t want to tarnish her reputation so easily if possible.

Besides, she can ask for her share after they return to Cangran. Thinking of this, she relaxed her shoulders and got back to her job.

As the afternoon wore on, Mo Yuxin’s stall remained busy. She sold talismans, repaired broken spiritual tools, and offered advice to those seeking her expertise. Many more monks came running over to her. After all, with how much demand Mo Yuxin has, it’s not wonder that everyone is trying to get their work done first.

Su Yubing continued to rock gently in her chair, occasionally offering a kind smile to a passing customer.

Mo Yuxin noticed that Su Yubing’s presence seemed to have a calming effect on the crowd. People were less pushy and more respectful, as if they were afraid of disturbing her. She felt a surge of gratitude towards Su Yubing. Even though she wasn’t actively helping, her mere presence was making Mo Yuxin’s job easier.

News of the exquisitely decorated sword had spread like wildfire through the cultivation world. Cultivators flocked to Mo Yuxin’s stall, eager to have their own weapons imbued with such artistry.

At first, the monks only came to repair their magical objects but when they left, they cried holding the exquisitely decorated weapons that they had now and also at the shrunken number of spirit stones. On one hand, they felt great after being praised and loved more by their weapon spirit but then the reality of spending all their money cane into their hearts making them feel sad.

Repairing the weapons doesn’t cost much but under the sweet and calm words of Su Yubing, they immediately changed their initial plan and took part in decorating their weapons within their means. But their purse still became empty.

Fortunately, the efforts weren’t wasted as their spirits also started favoring them more and became more and more enthusiastic in talking with them.

After Mo Yuxin finished another work and gave it to the monk, she suddenly remembered that she seems to have forgotten to take the spirit stones from all the more than ten monks that came to her before!!

She was immediately filled anxiety and regret at having lost her attention in her work and just when she was about to run after them, she suddenly looked on with her incredulous eyes as the monk whose weapons she just repaired and decorated actually went towards Su Yubing and bowed to her respectfully and gave her the payments!!

”Zhangwo Su, here is the payment for Yuanjun Mo’s exceptional work.”

”Many thanks, Zhangwo Su, for allowing Yuanjun Mo to grace my humble sword with her talent.”

Mo Yuxin could only watch in stunned silence as Su Yubing, with a gracious smile and a twinkle in her eye, accepted the spirit stones, her pouch growing heavier with each transaction.

”Thank you, thank you,” Su Yubing would reply, her voice overflowing with charm. ”My wife is truly talented, isn’t she?”

Mo Yuxin could only grit her teeth, a silent grumble escaping her lips. She wanted to protest, to set the record straight, but a part of her found the whole situation absurdly amusing.

In just a few days, Mo Yuxin earned another one million spirit stones! The largest portion of which was fortunate the decoration of the spirit weapons! This made, Mo Yuxin who previously used work hard for a month just to earn a little over five hundred thousand spirit stones feel as if a knife was embedded in her heart. She felt a little sad but this was not the most heartbreaking part!

Over one million spirit stones yet not a single spirit stones came to her pocket!!

Yes!! Not a single one. Except for a pitiful amount of two thousand spirit stones that she got in the first hour after opening the shop, everything else from when the female monk got her sword decorated, every single spirit stones from there on went to Su Yubing’s pocket!!

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the bustling marketplace. Mo Yuxin, her heart a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, watched as the last customer of the day cheerfully transferred spirit stones directly to Su Yubing via the Hongmeng Order. The scene played out like a recurring, slightly absurd, play.

”Thank you, Yuanjun Su,” the monk beamed, bowing deeply. ”My spirit feels so much happier now. Your wife’s work is truly divine.” Find exclusive stories on freewebnovel

”You’re most welcome,” Su Yubing replied, her smile as warm as the setting sun. ”My Yuxin is indeed a marvel.”

Mo Yuxin, her jaw slightly agape, could only offer a weak smile in return. She had to admit, Su Yubing had a knack for charming people. It was almost as if she had a secret, invisible string that she pulled, making everyone fall into her gentle, persuasive web.

As the marketplace began to empty, Su Yubing gathered her things, her pouch noticeably heavier. She stood up, her movements graceful despite her weakened meridians. ”Let’s head back, Yuxin,” she said, her voice soft.

Mo Yuxin nodded, following her like a lost puppy. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being robbed, but at the same time, she couldn’t bring herself to be truly angry. Su Yubing’s reasoning, however flimsy, always seemed to make a strange sort of sense.

”Yubing,” Mo Yuxin began, her voice hesitant, ”about the spirit stones...”

Su Yubing turned, her eyes wide and innocent. ”Oh, yes! I almost forgot,” she said, reaching into her pouch. ”Here, Yuxin, two thousand spirit stones for your hard work today.”

Mo Yuxin stared at the paltry sum, then at Su Yubing’s apologetic expression. ”But... but that’s all?”

Su Yubing sighed, her eyes filled with a dramatic sadness. ”Yuxin, you know how much medicine I need. And the ingredients are so expensive! If I don’t have enough spirit stones, I won’t be able to refine the pills, and then...” she trailed off, her voice filled with unspoken dread.

Mo Yuxin’s resolve crumbled. She couldn’t bear to see Su Yubing so distressed. ”Alright, alright,” she conceded, ”keep the spirit stones. But... maybe next time, a little more?”

Su Yubing’s face lit up. ”Of course, Yuxin! You’re so understanding.”

As they walked back to their dwelling, Mo Yuxin’s mind was filled with a strange mix of frustration and amusement. She was being swindled, yet she couldn’t bring herself to mind. Su Yubing’s charm was a dangerous weapon, more effective than any magical artifact.

Days turned into weeks, and the pattern continued. Mo Yuxin worked tirelessly, her reputation growing with each exquisitely decorated weapon. Su Yubing, meanwhile, sat serenely, collecting the spirit stones as if it were her divine right. Mo Yuxin’s pouch remained stubbornly light, while Su Yubing’s grew heavier with each passing day.

After enduring it for a few more days, Mo Yuxin took advantage of the dark and windy night and secretly went down the mountain without Su Yubing.

She thought that if she didn’t bring Su Yubing with her, doesn’t that mean that the spirit stones would go into her own pocket!!

The marketplace buzzed with its usual chaotic energy, but a strange tension hung in the air around Mo Yuxin’s stall. She had just finished meticulously repairing and decorating a particularly ornate sword for a group of monks, their faces etched with anticipation. As she presented the gleaming weapon, a hush fell over the group.

”That will be one hundred thousand spirit stones,” Mo Yuxin announced, her voice clear and steady.

The monks exchanged uneasy glances. One of them, a stout man with a bristling beard, stepped forward. ”With all due respect, Yuanjun Mo,” he began, his voice surprisingly smooth, ”we would prefer to transfer the payment directly to Yuanjun Su Yubing.”

Mo Yuxin blinked, her brow furrowed. ”To Yubing? But I did the work,” she protested, a hint of confusion creeping into her voice.

The stout monk smiled, a thin, almost apologetic smile. ”Of course, Yuanjun Mo. Your craftsmanship is undeniable. However, we feel more comfortable dealing with Yuanjun Su.”

Mo Yuxin’s expression immediately turned cold and her piercing cold eyes seemed to send shivers down all the monks spine but..
