Chapter 982: Chapter 70: The Gladiatorial Match Ends

The Wind Prince’s target was not Su Xiao, as he never intended to fight Su Xiao desperately. He had learned from ancient records about the abilities of the Annihilator, and he knew that once eroded by Blue Steel Shadow energy, he was basically doomed because that energy would destroy his brain tissue.

The Wind Prince started to court others as soon as he appeared, intent not on uniting to kill Su Xiao but to reduce the number of competitors.

At first, Su Xiao didn’t notice this, but when the Wind Prince attacked him with Ultra-Pure Water, he vaguely sensed something was wrong. The Wind Prince attacked with two drops of Ultra-Pure Water, seemingly having shattered the remaining Ultra-Pure Water with an energy blade, but this was not the case. There were five drops of Ultra-Pure Water hidden under the sand, and Iron Man was betrayed by the Wind Prince.

Realizing this, Su Xiao killed Iron Man accordingly. After this, Red Scorpion vaguely sensed something was wrong. From the angle at which she attacked Su Xiao, it was evident. She attacked when Su Xiao blocked the Wind Prince, taking the opportunity to strike. At that time, Red Scorpion was not sure about the Wind Prince, and speaking rashly would only cause this small group to fall apart.

The Wind Prince’s Wind Riding Spear was simply divine assistance. Upon sensing the spear, Su Xiao immediately confirmed something was wrong with the Wind Prince because the spear emitted a subtle pulse when near him, indicating that it could explode.

This divine aid made Red Scorpion retract her Scorpion Tail Whip at a critical moment, not fully hitting Su Xiao. Moreover, the spear caused Red Scorpion to completely lose her combat ability. When Red Scorpion forfeited, she said: ’These two bastards.’

Logically, it should’ve been ’this bastard,’ originally a curse at Su Xiao. But Red Scorpion said these two bastards, making it clear who the other ’bastard’ was.

Then, the Wind Prince began to incite Stone Man, who, with his not-so-high intelligence, was his collaborator. However, with Pibang and Banke fighting fiercely, the Wind Prince changed his mind and started to hold a big move.

Initially, Su Xiao was puzzled as to why the Wind Prince would betray his teammates, but when he thought about the reward for second place, his mind suddenly cleared.

Unlike most contestants, the Wind Prince had a family, so he wasn’t too eager for the Spirit of the Dragon of Resurrection. His true desire was the High-vibration Steel Mine.

From the very start, the Wind Prince’s goal was the High-vibration Steel Mine, the second-place prize. Thus, he needed a ’collaborator,’ someone sufficiently strong, without a family or major force backing, and not too eager for high-vibration steel. Who else fits this criteria?

Considering these factors, Su Xiao fully understood why the Wind Prince betrayed his teammates.

A ten-person melee tests not only combat strength but intelligence as well.

Boom!

The energy column in the Wind Prince’s palm blasted toward Pibang and Banke, who were battling fiercely.

”Oh, crap!”

Pibang was shocked and suddenly vanished from the spot, using some ability to escape, leaving Banke in a bitter plight as he was sent spiraling upward.

With a thud, Banke fell to the ground, the energy orb in the Wind Prince’s hand aimed at him, ready for a second shot. Banke twitched a few times, raised his number plate, and snapped it with a click.

Meanwhile, Su Xiao stepped on Stone Man, whose skin turned ashen, losing all its protective effects and suffering from a negative effect.

”I surrender...”

The long knife plunged down, penetrating Stone Man’s skull, with a flick, opening it up.

Being simple and honest is fine, but scheming among a bunch of cunning foxes without the skill to do so only leads to being conned and counting money for others.

The situation on the field drastically changed. Five minutes into the battle, only three remained.

The energy orb in the Wind Prince’s hand aimed at Pibang, who tossed a beef ball into his mouth, throwing his number plate to the ground and stomping on it, crushing it.

”Only two contestants left on the field!”

Hak shouted, his eyes bloodshot with excitement.

Su Xiao tugged the Boundary Line, pulling it back into the wire wheel. His relationship with the Wind Prince was one of mutual exploitation, not cooperation. There are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests, and right and wrong are concerns for children.

”When we meet again, perhaps we’ll be mortal enemies.”

The Wind Prince withdrew the energy orb, starting to cough blood. After a moment, his seven orifices bled, looking like a demon. This was the rebound from using Wind King’s Roar, his father’s specialty, which he had barely managed to use, leading to heavier injuries than Su Xiao’s previous ones, barely able to stand.

Su Xiao said nothing, simply walking toward the Wind Prince with his knife. His goal was the Dragon of Resurrection’s Spirit, as the High-vibration Steel Mine was of no use to him. He was about to return to Reincarnation Paradise, with no time to mine it, and selling it carried too high a risk. It was more reliable to retrieve the Dragon’s Spirit.

”Forget it, being cut by you, I’d be nine-tenths dead, going home to research elements is life’s true calling.”

The Wind Prince took out his number plate, snapping it with a click. This remark of ’going home to research elements’ revealed his homebody nature. With such a personality, entering the Mage Tower and staying there for hundreds of years without emerging would be unsurprising, making future encounters between the two unlikely.

”I declare, the winner of this competition is...”

Hak’s words were interrupted by a blue metal thread twined in front of the commentator’s platform, his eyes widened.

”No attacking the commentator, hey hey hey, someone help, save me.”

Hak’s survival instincts were strong, yet Su Xiao wasn’t there to cut him.

Using the pulling force of the Boundary Line, Su Xiao leaped onto the commentator’s platform.

”Spirit.”

Su Xiao extended his hand.

”Eek~”

Hak shrank back, retreating. This devil was not good at fighting; he was good at flirting with females of various races.

”That’s not quite right~”

Hak wanted to stabilize Su Xiao first, as there was a ceremony afterward.

Su Xiao’s eyes narrowed.

”Take it, it’s your rightful reward.”

Without any decency, Hak handed over the Dragon of Resurrection’s Spirit. Su Xiao received it, space-time power surged. He was about to return to the first floor of Demon Castle, a transit station, where he’d collect the Game Winner’s Badge and return to Reincarnation Paradise.

Su Xiao left, the audience bewildered, including the Wind Prince, Hak, and the Arena hosts.

”Why not give me that thing now, I’m in a hurry.”

The Wind Prince was carried by elements, floating to the commentator’s platform, itching to return home. He had 154760 elemental researches left undone.

”Eh?”

Hak’s mouth dropped open, hesitated, then handed the High-vibration Steel Mine permission to the Wind Prince, who floated away slowly, perhaps even surprising his father with his quick return.

Hak leaned on the commentator’s platform railing, watching Pibang with hopeful eyes, saying, ”Bro, please, stay for the ceremony, if you leave, no one will be left.”

Pibang raised his eyebrows.

”Is there food?”

”Feast!”

”Deal.”

And so, the Void Colosseum ended ’joyfully,’ but the top two spots on the award podium were left empty: First place went to a blood-soaked Annihilator, and second place to a homebody Mage.
