Chapter 963: Chapter 51: I’m a Devil

The first combat skill match, Contractor Pibang takes the stage.

Pibang walks into the arena holding a piece of jerky. The match is about to start, but he doesn’t stop eating.

In the spectator area, Su Xiao scans his surroundings. Bubu Wang has wandered off somewhere, and Su Xiao’s gaze focuses on the arena.

Previously, Su Xiao was curious about Pibang’s fighting style because he suspected that Pibang had mastered Armament Haki. If this is true, Pibang’s combat strength will be formidable.

Buzz～

A circular transparent energy shield rises, isolating the audience from the yellow sand field to ensure no bystanders are harmed by the aftermath of the battle.

”There are no rules in the match. The only thing contestants need to do is find a way to defeat their opponents, so... the combat skill match begins!”

Hak announces the start of the match with a long drawl. His voice carries a tempting charm; this is the racial talent of the Devil Clan, adept at beguiling others. Nowadays, such devilish deals are no longer fashionable, as more profits are made hosting large-scale arena events. Ultimately, the Devil Clan has a merchant core; they’re all crafty merchants.

The match begins as Pibang and the Mechanical Ethnic Oller charge towards each other.

”So direct, how exhilarating!”

Hak’s sudden shout distracts some spectators deeply focused on the match. Noticing this, the organizer signals to cut off Hak’s microphone. Though excellent in many ways, Hak’s tendency to ”steal the spotlight” is unwanted.

Ignoring Hak, who’s left self-indulgent on the commentary platform, the two contestants are already tangled in battle on the yellow sand field.

Bang, bang...

Both adopt close combat styles, every punch lands solidly.

Oller swings a punch, leaving a residual shadow with his strike.

”Guard.”

Pibang doesn’t dodge, or rather, he can’t evade in his current state.

The metallic fist, glimmering in the dark, strikes Pibang’s chest, sinking into his body fat upon contact.

Pibang pushes his hands back; his entire body fat ripples like water, dissipating over 90% of the punch’s force through his fat, channeling it to his back and finally expelling it from his body.

Crash～

Pibang rebounds like a water balloon, unharmed by the punch, whereas the yellow sand behind him scatters.

”Hmm?”

Oller is puzzled; he used full power in that punch, enough to burst a titanium manganese ball.

Oller swings his fists wildly, creating trails of punches in the air, while Pibang remains immovable and unresponsive.

In the player spectator area, a dozen ’Lalata Star’ Meng Meis attentively watch the match, snacking on treats, more engrossed in spectating than their earlier exhibition match.

”I like soft chubby ones, I’d like to poke him.”

One Meng Mei says, munching on a chip-like snack.

”I do too. If he wins later, let’s go tease him.”

”Will he hit us?”

”No, we’ll act cute first and see his reaction, then ’hit him’.”

”Good idea.”

The dozen Meng Meis sit about ten meters from Su Xiao, integrating something ’odd’ among them—upon closer inspection, it’s Bubu Wang!

Su Xiao glances at Bubu Wang, conveying, ”Weren’t you going to scam people? Why the sudden switch to flirting?”

Bubu Wang returns an exasperated look, being hugged by a ’Lalata Star’ Meng Mei, his dog face highly embarrassed.

As for Su Xiao, he’s left to munch on an apple. Those Meng Meis dare not approach him, deterred by his ’Gundam’ 8 Charm Attributes, alongside his overwhelming Blood Energy discouraging 99% of them; the remaining 1% wishes to assassinate him.

Not long after, Bubu Wang wriggles free from the Meng Meis, resuming his actual task.

In the arena, the match escalates into fervor, precisely Mechanical Ethnic self-indulgence, since Pibang hasn’t moved nor engaged beyond receiving attacks.

”After all those punches, it’s my turn now.”

Pibang suddenly raises his arm, grabbing Oller’s fist.

”You...”

Oller, hoping for fame, feels the force on his fist, his face shifts subtly.

”Impact.”

Pibang’s fat quivers all over, channeling a force from within; it’s not his inherent power but the stored force inside his fat from earlier attacks.

The power transits through Pibang’s arm to Oller’s fist, penetrating his body.

”Ugh.”

Oller grimaces, metallic body becoming uneven.

Bang!

Metal fragments explode, shedding like skin as Oller’s exterior fractures, a transparent liquid gushes forth—it’s the Mechanical Ethnic’s blood.

Wounded gravely, Oller tilts his head back, mouth agape.

Whoosh!

Blue flames burst from Oller’s mouth; Pibang releases his arm, vanishing instantly.

Pibang reappears behind Oller; his body suddenly slimming despite previously being rotund, suggesting a skill burning his fat.

Burning fat accelerates Pibang’s speed, transforming him into an agile fatty.

Pibang swings his fist with a gust, the air pressure inflating his sleeve with a flapping sound.

Oller reacts swiftly, crossing arms in defense, yet before Pibang’s punch lands, his fists darken—the manifestation after Armament Haki Hardening.

Boom!

Like two trains colliding, shockwaves rage; surrounding yellow sand disperses in rings and sprays, visual effects erupting. The organizer’s choice of sand proves intentional.

Oller manages to block Pibang’s punch despite his arms twisting.

The assault continues; an impact invades Oller’s insides, more lethal than the upfront attack.

Thankfully, Oller belongs to Mechanical Ethnic; were he human, the impact risked ejecting fat, moisture, and more from his body.

Consider the instantaneous loss of water, fat, and blood’s effects on the human body; Pibang’s fat impact is severe, each hit potentially draining water, detaching fat, and depleting blood—even if blocked.

Specially treated yellow sand falls quickly as the slimmer Pibang walks to the player spectator area without glancing back. Oller stands still, behind him, yellow sand stained with a spattered transparent liquid—his blood.

With a thud, Oller collapses, dead from Pibang’s punch expelling 90% of his blood—even a Mechanical Ethnic falls instantly.

”Hey, hey, hey, finally I can speak. Damn organizers turned off the sound device, despicable!”

Hak’s voice resurfaces as the first fight concludes, replaced with bouts of laughter instead of cheers from the audience.

”Don’t laugh, I’m a devil!”

”Hahaha.”

Baseless laughter echoes from within the spectators.
