Chapter 968: Chapter 56: Not Bad

The Little Giant grabbed the Boundary Line at his neck with one hand, exerting force to try to break it. After finding it exceptionally sturdy, he decisively let go and grabbed the hilt of his sword with one hand while gripping the blade with the other, pulling down with one hand as if cutting his own palm.

Ziii—

Sparks flew, and scratches appeared on the armor of the Little Giant’s palm, releasing the Boundary Line entangled on the Giant Sword.

From this series of actions, one could see how rich the Little Giant’s combat experience was. After discovering that he couldn’t break free from the Boundary Line, he immediately gave up futile struggles, prioritizing releasing the weapon from its entangled state to regain combat strength.

Su Xiao tightened the Boundary Line, leaning his body backward; this time, the Boundary Line only tangled around the Little Giant’s neck, stretched taut.

This sudden force made the Little Giant stagger backward, he lifted his toes and landed on his heels to maintain balance.

”Ha!”

The Little Giant roared, swinging his Giant Sword sideways at Su Xiao, intending to slice him in half at the waist.

Su Xiao suddenly released the Boundary Line, and because the Little Giant had shifted his entire weight backward to resist the Boundary Line’s tug, when Su Xiao suddenly let go, the Little Giant staggered back two steps, his slash deforming, cutting upwards at an angle.

The Little Giant no longer cared about the direction of his slice; he needed to maintain his balance now. He absolutely could not fall; falling would not only be humiliating but dangerous, given his size, which provided both an advantage and a disadvantage.

The Little Giant leaned forward, seeking to steady his balance, but to no avail as Su Xiao yanked the Boundary Line again with full force.

This pull, combined with the Little Giant’s own forward momentum, caused him to tilt forward drastically, and with the Boundary Line around his neck, he tumbled headfirst toward Su Xiao.

As he was airborne, the Little Giant curled his body, positioning the Giant Sword to his left side. Su Xiao’s left side was the side with the Boundary Line; if Su Xiao wanted to slash at the Little Giant, he would have to swing from the right. Facing the opposite direction, Su Xiao’s right side was the Little Giant’s left, with the Giant Sword preemptively guarding against Su Xiao’s potential attack—an instinctive defense made in a flash.

This kind of defense could not be acquired solely through training; it was honed through countless life-and-death experiences.

Given the situation, Su Xiao seemed to have only one choice: thrust forward with the blade. However, this move carried high risks—one ineffective strike, and the opponent would seize the chance to counterattack.

The Little Giant was charging headfirst toward Su Xiao; in this split second, although they could not speak each other’s language, combat itself became a form of communication, with both engaging in a strategic battle of wits.

To powerfully cut sideways to suppress the Little Giant or risk a forward thrust to heavily injure him—these were the choices facing Su Xiao.

On the Little Giant’s side, he was closely observing Su Xiao’s minute actions; the moment Su Xiao initiated a slash or a thrust, he was prepared with a defense strategy, ready to counterattack afterward.

Su Xiao held the Dragon Slash horizontally, appearing ready to side-swipe.

Noticing this, a grin spread under the Little Giant’s helmet, but in the next moment, his smile vanished, though his eyes remained excited—this was the thrill of encountering a worthy opponent.

Su Xiao’s blade-raising motion was merely a feint; the real deadly move lay in his lower body.

Su Xiao bent his body, stepped back with his left leg, leaning sideways. A force surged from the ground, transmitted through his right leg, then to his waist, and finally culminating in his left leg.

With all his might, he kicked forward as if kicking a soccer ball. But what he kicked was not a ball, it was the Little Giant’s helmeted head. The Little Giant, already lunging forward, seemed to offer his head willingly for Su Xiao to kick.

Boom!

A muffled sound resonated, with the energy shield encasing Su Xiao’s left leg shattering. The Little Giant hadn’t even hit the ground headfirst before being kicked into the air, his flight path abruptly changing from forward to backward, his body spinning in the air—proof of the immense force behind that kick.

Blood trickled through the gaps in the helmet, and a distinct boot print dented the helmet’s facial area, with large cracks appearing on the metal headpiece.

A five-meter-tall Little Giant, fully armored, flipped through the air from a kick—what a staggering visual impact, leaving the spectators in an uproar.

However, the battle wasn’t over. With a thump, the Little Giant hit the ground but immediately sprang up, performing a kip-up despite the severe blow. Clutching his helmet with both hands, he activated a mechanism at his neck, releasing the helmet.

The Little Giant’s facial details were obscured by blood, with a broken tooth pierced through his lip, revealing a mess of long black hair.

The Little Giant gripped the helmet tightly and hurled it toward Su Xiao, with the lower half still entwined with the Boundary Line.

Whoosh—

The metal helmet flew toward Su Xiao as he charged forward. He sidestepped and continued his advance, deftly unbinding the Boundary Line entangled on the helmet, winding it back quickly, the wire wheel buzzing noisily.

In a flash, the two clashed again, Su Xiao unscathed, while the Little Giant was suffering from a severe concussion.

In the Little Giant’s vision, Su Xiao appeared doubled; desperate, he swung his sword horizontally.

Yet Su Xiao didn’t stop; with a leap, he avoided the swing of the Giant Sword aiming at his feet.

Typically in combat, jumping isn’t advisable, but it depends on the situation as it does now—jumping was indeed the right call.

Dodging the horizontal strike, Su Xiao engaged the Little Giant up close, Blue Steel Shadow energy climbing along the blade of Dragon Slash.

With a sweeping slash, broad and bold.

Slash.

The Long Knife cut through the side of the Little Giant’s waist, slicing through armor and defense in one clean strike. Blood stained the Dragon Slash; the blade entered beside the abdomen and exited from the rear waist, completed with precision. The Light Gold quality and +12 enhancement of the Dragon Slash resulted in such sharpness.

Su Xiao had not swung blindly—this strike severed a substantial muscle group across the Little Giant’s back, making it impossible for him to turn.

As the broad muscle group on his side was severed, the Little Giant knew he was finished. However, in the next instant, excruciating pain spread within him—the True Damage from the Blue Steel Shadow energy struck, along with triggering its additional ability, Soul Electrification.

Soul Electrification: When Blue Steel Shadow energy burns the enemy’s Mana Value, there is a 12% chance to trigger one of three Abnormal State effects: paralysis, immobilization, or dizziness, lasting 0.2 to 3 seconds.

The Little Giant was hit with the paralysis effect for 0.6 seconds.

Su Xiao’s figure passed the Little Giant, leaving a trail of Blood Beads in the air. He promptly turned, facing the Little Giant’s back.

The blade gleamed as two slash marks appeared on the lower thighs of the Little Giant; these cuts severed the tendons of both his legs. As for why not behead him—that’s the perk of his size; jumping once was fine, but he couldn’t leave the ground now.

With a thud, the Little Giant dropped to his knees, Soul Electrification’s control effect dissipating. Planting one hand on the ground, he turned to look at Su Xiao.

With his face covered in blood, the Little Giant smiled. With a grin, he raised the arm holding the sword, flinging it backwards with all his might—the hardest strike he could muster.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

The Giant Sword, enveloped in a layer of blood-colored energy, spun furiously towards Su Xiao.

Getting struck by this attack head-on would be devastating, but Su Xiao wouldn’t succumb to such a blow; no matter how powerful, it was defensible.

A four-meter-tall, three-meter-wide Energy Shield manifested before Su Xiao. Holding it with one hand, he watched the incoming Giant Sword intently. As it collided with the Energy Shield, he angled the shield.

With a crack, the Energy Shield shattered, and Su Xiao stepped back a few paces. The blood-colored Giant Sword veered to the side, ultimately crashing onto the edge of the arena with a boom, causing nearby spectators to rise in fright.

Even after his desperate sword strike failed, would the Little Giant give up the fight? No, he wouldn’t. Rolling his tongue, he wrapped it around the tooth piercing his lip.

The Little Giant inhaled deeply, causing the armor on his abdomen to bulge slightly.

Ptooey!

The Little Giant spat out all the air in his lungs, launching half a tongue out; compared to the tongue, the broken tooth was more lethal.

Su Xiao tilted his head, black hair fluttering, dodging the tooth that almost penetrated his skull.

”Hahahaha.”

The Little Giant laughed wildly, gripping his chest armor with one hand. With a creak, he forcefully wrenched off a small piece of metal and clutched it single-handedly, using it as a weapon.

”Not bad,”

Su Xiao smiled at the Little Giant, stomped the ground beneath his feet, causing the sand to explode, then vanished.
