Chapter 967: Chapter 55: Noticeably Stronger

Mr. Mouse blocked Mage Sage Sefiria, and after the two returned to the audience seats, the surrounding spectators noticed nothing unusual and were completely unaware of the confrontation that had just occurred.

Mage Sage Sefiria gave a bit of face to the organizers of the Void Colosseum; after all, she is a big figure in the Order Faction. Even though she wished to crush Su Xiao’s bones into dust, at most she would secretly kill Su Xiao using stealthy means and not openly attack.

”Hypocritical woman.”

Mr. Mouse poured strong liquor into his mouth. If he wanted to kill someone, he would not be so discreet; he would aim directly and shoot. As for the consequences, he would consider those after the killing.

From the current situation, Mage Sage Sefiria would not take further action in the short term.

”Roar!!”

The cheers from the audience on the field merged into a continuous sound. The reason so many people came to the Void Colosseum this time was due to the hype of the Annihilator’s reappearance. Some spectators had squeezed their schedules to be here temporarily, and as for the Demon Clan, they had rushed to get tickets at high prices after hearing the news about the Annihilator’s return.

Bang, bang, bang...

The battle drums in the sky sounded three times, signaling the start of the match.

Su Xiao walked on the yellow sand, and the soil underfoot was a bit loose, which would affect his explosive speed. Fortunately, his opponent would have the same issue.

Su Xiao’s opponent was somewhat tall, exceeding the normal human range, with a conservative estimate of more than 5 meters in height, akin to a little giant.

Most giants give the initial impression of being cumbersome, but this little giant was different. Despite being over 5 meters tall, his stature was not bloated; instead, he appeared tall and agile.

As for the appearance of this little giant, it was temporarily unknown. He was wrapped entirely in iron grey armor, with a helmet covering everywhere apart from the eye holes and breathing ports at the mouth and nose. The helmet’s shape was peculiar, resembling an upside-down iron barrel.

”Bag-nae-spong-le... (unknown language).”

The little giant held a wide-blade greatsword, at least 3 meters in length and over 40 centimeters wide. Getting hit by the sword, or even the sword’s spine, would be a serious blow due to the little giant’s size, giving a strong sense of power.

”Ladies and gentlemen, I believe this match is one of the most anticipated, and as to why it’s one of them, the Wind Prince’s match is also highly anticipated.

Back to the point, among the contestants, the Annihilator needs no introduction from Hakudo; everyone knows at least something about the Annihilator from records. That was truly a terrifying era when, during that time, spells became a taboo on most planets. However, that era has passed, and most grudges have faded with time.

We’re fortunate to witness the Annihilator’s battle today across space and time! But! Though the Annihilator is mighty, his opponent is no less formidable. The opponent is from the exile zone in the shallow layer of the Black Abyss and has survived there for over a year. He has no name; now, he only has a number, which is Number 51. His name and race are unknown, and he cares not for honor or treasure. He came to the arena just to fight; he lives for the sake of combat!”

As soon as Hakudo finished speaking, there was a massive uproar among the audience. These races living in the Void knew well what the Black Abyss was; it was one of the Void’s forbidden zones, fraught with dangers and yet to be fully explored. Even the shallow layer of the Abyss was a forbidden area for living beings, and surviving there for a year meant he was no ordinary opponent.

”Spectators, shout with all your might for the battle between Number 51 from the Black Abyss and the Annihilator.”

Hakudo was ecstatic, but standing on the yellow sand field, Su Xiao felt a bit speechless.

”Hurry up and start the match, and save all these useless words for after the fight begins.”

Su Xiao muttered; after some preliminary warm-up, his condition was great. His right hand gripped the hilt of the Dragon Slash at his waist, and the blade edge slowly unsheathed.

Clang.

The Dragon Slash emitted a crisp sound.

”There it is! The legendary Accompanied Armament of the Annihilator, Hakudo has already become excited... What! Wait!”

Hakudo shouted because Su Xiao had already swiftly charged at the little giant.

”The match begins.”

Hakudo hurriedly announced the start of the match to ease the awkwardness.

Boom!

A clash echoed through the Battle Arena as Su Xiao’s sharp blade met the little giant’s giant sword, with waves of impact spreading outwards. The yellow sand field, as if a large stone had been thrown into a pond, had layers of distinct sand spreading out in ripples.

The layers of yellow sand swirled and eventually hit the energy shield.

At the center of the field, Su Xiao and the little giant locked eyes.

Hoo～

Two auras simultaneously attacked each other: one was pale red, the purest of all killing intents; the other was a dark red, resembling thick blood, possessing erosive and adhesive qualities.

Kaka...

The auras mutually eroded one another, and it was clear that Su Xiao’s pale red aura was sharper and purer, gradually pushing back the dark red aura.

After just one exchange, Su Xiao realized that his opponent was not to be underestimated. Due to size or some ability, the opponent’s strength was slightly greater than his, speed was slower than his, and their durability might be equal. Regarding combat experience, it was difficult to say who had the upper hand.

The little giant had survived a year in the Abyss, constantly battling or fleeing; his combat experience couldn’t be weak. This dark red aura was what he forged from battles in the shallow layer of the Abyss.

As the long knife and giant sword clashed, Su Xiao’s right arm muscles bulged, his left arm hung to the side, and his fingers moved swiftly as if controlling something. In truth, he was distributing the Boundary Line around his opponent, which would take about 2 more seconds.

”Camo (unknown language).”

The little giant seemed to have discovered something, exerting force with hands gripping the sword hilt, his body leaning forward due to the exertion.

This unexpected burst of force made Su Xiao groan, his already entrenched legs sinking deeper into the yellow sand.

If he had previously encountered a formidable foe like the little giant, Su Xiao would definitely have fought bitterly; now, it was different. Not long ago, he completed the Demon Hunting Suit, and what did a 40% increase in close combat damage mean? Moreover, his total Life Value increased by 20%, enhancing his survival ability by at least 30%. Not only that, but he also mastered the intuition ability, which further strengthened his close combat skills.

Su Xiao twisted with the long knife in hand as the little giant’s giant sword slashed diagonally.

The little giant was obviously startled; he couldn’t understand why Su Xiao withdrew his force, which was nearing a suicidal path. Although confused, he promptly altered the trajectory of the slash, transforming from a strike at Su Xiao’s shoulder to one aimed at his face, as though intending to cleave Su Xiao in half.

After mastering the intuition ability, Su Xiao refused to engage in a direct clash with enemies; there was no need.

As the giant sword slashed forward with a fierce wind pressure, just as it was about to strike Su Xiao’s face, his left hand pulled.

Szz～

A green metal wire buried under the yellow sand was pulled out, wrapping around the little giant. This was Su Xiao’s trap laid during the previous blast’s spread.

Seeing this scene, the little giant immediately withdrew the power from his forward slash, but it was too late.

Crack!

A sharp sound was heard, not from the Boundary Line breaking but from it being stretched tight; the Boundary Line was already wrapped around the little giant’s neck. Moreover, a short piece of the Boundary Line was wrapped around the heavy sword in the little giant’s hand, meaning not only did the slash towards Su Xiao’s face fail to injure him, but the cleave power instead acted on the little giant’s neck. The sound of cracking was produced as the Boundary Line sliced through the armor at the little giant’s neck.
