Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Ding dong———”

”I’m here, who is it?”

Hearing the doorbell, the middle-aged woman hurried to the entrance, responding while opening the door. Then, she saw a young man standing outside, dressed in a suit, exceptionally handsome. Beside him was a little girl, around five or six years old, with long, smooth blue hair.

”May I ask who you are...?”

”Are you Madam Honzu? I’m very sorry to bother you.”

The young man smiled slightly and then handed over the gift box he held in his hands.

”I just moved in today, my name is Fang Zheng. It’s nice to meet you, please take care of me. This is my sister Meiyin.”

”Ah, you’re the new neighbor.”

Upon hearing this, Madam Honzu realized and glanced across the street, noticing that there was indeed a moving company’s truck there, still unloading furniture. So Madam Honzu also smiled and quickly bowed in return.

”Nice to meet you, hello, I’m Rie Honzu, please take care of me.”

”Come on, Meiyin, say hello too.”

On hearing Fang Zheng speak, the blue-haired girl seemed to come to her senses, she stared at Madam Honzu, then opened her mouth and shouted...

”Mom!”

”Huh?”

Hearing this call, Madam Honzu was stunned for a moment, while Fang Zheng reached out, gently patted Meiyin’s little head, and once again smiled at Madam Honzu.

”I’m really sorry, Madam Honzu. This child left her parents and now lives with me, she’s not quite used to it yet. If there’s any offense, please forgive us.”

”No, no, not at all! This child is very cute, I like her very much!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Madam Honzu waved her hand quickly. For some reason, she found herself feeling especially close to the blue-haired girl at first glance, as if she was her own daughter. Especially when the girl called her mom just now, for a moment, Madam Honzu even really thought she was her daughter...

Thinking of her deceased daughter, Madam Honzu’s eyes reddened slightly. Then she took the opportunity of placing the gifts to turn around and discreetly wiped her tears.

”Really very sorry... May I invite you in?”

”No, thank you... I have some things to do, and if it’s not too much trouble, I have an unreasonable request.”

”Please go ahead.”

”As you can see, I’m just an ordinary office worker, moving here for work. Due to work, I might come home late every day, so if possible, could you help take care of Meiyin? Just until I get back from work...”

”Of course, that’s no problem.”

In principle, a neighbor making such a request upon first meeting should have Madam Honzu hesitate a bit. But for some reason, she found the handsome young man’s words very pleasing and quite convincing, and she liked the girl a lot too, so she quickly agreed without hesitation.

”Thanks for your understanding, now we have to tidy up our place so we won’t disturb you anymore.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng smiled and nodded to Madam Honzu, then turned to leave with the reluctantly following Meiyin.

”How was it?”

Mel, waiting outside, came over to ask, and Fang Zheng nodded.

”Everything went smoothly, but Meiyin... remember to control your emotions next time.”

”I’m sorry, Mr. Fang Zheng...”

At this moment, Meiyin was also lowering her head and wiping her tears. Hearing Fang Zheng speak, she nodded in response. To be honest, although she had imagined countless reunions with her parents before, when she truly saw her mother again, she almost burst into tears.

”Alright, in any case, that’s how it is for now. Now you can go home and visit every day. Then Mel, you’re next, get ready... don’t cry like Meiyin again, it’s hard for me to handle, let’s get in the car.”

”Ah, mm...”

With lingering fear, Mel glanced at Meiyin, and then nodded and got into the car.

Although Mel and Meiyin had been considering how to meet their families since arriving in this world, they hadn’t anticipated that Fang Zheng had already come up with a plan.

It’s quite simple, really. Fang Zheng first bought the houses next to the families of the two girls and then took Mel and Meiyin to visit them. In Japan, there’s a tradition of new neighbors visiting the surrounding area, so suddenly showing up and saying they’re new neighbors here to pay a visit wouldn’t raise any suspicions.

Next, Fang Zheng just had to say he’s a businessman who doesn’t have the time or energy to look after Mel and Meiyin and ask the neighbors to keep an eye on them, and that’s it.

Fang Zheng even used his method to transfer Mel to her sister’s school and class...mel and Meiyin never imagined such tricks, since they were only students and had never conceived of such social strategies.

As for the money used to buy the house...it’s surely going through FBI channels.

And Fang Zheng himself went to a place he never anticipated.

Armed Detective Academy.

This surprised Fang Zheng, as he initially thought the next Order Core data would surely be in Academy City. He had watched a season of Forbidden Magic, and based on what Red Ponytail gained in Zero’s World, the data should definitely be with those LV5s.

However, what Fang Zheng didn’t foresee was that when he sought guidance using Prophecy Technique, he was led to Armed Detective Academy...

The so-called Martial Investigator is a unique profession in this world, known as Armed Detective, operating within legal limits to solve personal or organizational commissions, making up for police shortcomings and maintaining social peace... Of course, if you must know, these people are somewhat like adventurers in fantasy worlds. Mel initially became an adventurer because she admired the poise of Martial Investigators.

Yet, just as adventurers in fantasy worlds are seen as troublemakers, Martial Investigators are not very popular or respected in modern society—which makes sense.

Typically, modern society wouldn’t allow such organizations to emerge, but upon reflection, this is a superpower world with superpower entities like Academy City, which requires special handling, unlike ordinary modern worlds.

Armed Detective Academy is the institution that trains Martial Investigators.

To put it bluntly, it’s similar to Shandong’s Blue... cough cough, that’s off topic.

Basically, it’s kind of similar.

On the other hand, the young girl Riko Mine, whom Fang Zheng rescued, posed some difficulty. Riko had confided to Fang Zheng that she was a descendant of Lupin but had been looked down upon by her family due to lacking strength. She eagerly sought strong enough power to make her ancestors proud. Therefore, Riko hoped to enroll in Academy City, but Fang Zheng didn’t immediately agree. Having watched both Forbidden Magic Index and Railgun, he knew that place wasn’t as simple as Mel and Meiyin imagined, a mere superpower development academy.

Actually speaking, Fang Zheng was unclear on what Academy City’s brain domain development was, as the anime glossed over it while portrayals were extreme—one part seemed to enable clarity through study, the other involved crazy, inhumane extreme biological experiments...

Fang Zheng wasn’t worried about conflict with Academy City; from his anime perspective, neither entity in Academy City could withstand him.

After all, no power surpasses time.

Same goes for that upside-down boy soaking in bathwater.

However, Fang Zheng was somewhat curious about Academy City’s technology; the anime focused on plot rather than theory, but now he was more interested in the theoretical knowledge than plots.

Putting the scenario in Harry Potter’s world, Fang Zheng wouldn’t bother about the reckless antics of those buffoons, he’d delve directly into magecraft research.

As for Harry Potter and Voldemort, Fang Zheng would just pretend not to see them.

He’s past the plot advancement and instance stage, now beginning to explore the theoretical foundations that build worlds. In ”The Familiar of Zero,” Red Ponytail spent more time reading Magic Books at the academy than going out to battle bosses.

Not to mention, Red Ponytail only knew the beginning of Zero’s plot.

During the first few days in this world, Fang Zheng took some time to look after Mel and Meiyin, discovering their return to family significantly impacted them.

Meiyin had grown very close to her parents; now both sides started seeing each other as true family (since they were originally), but Mel’s situation was hilarious. Fang Zheng, with good intentions, transferred Mel to her rebirth sister’s school, but Mel’s constant concern led her to tail her sister every day, only to be mistaken as a suspicious person... Fang Zheng could only shrug at this.

He provided such a good start, yet you mess it up like this, proving to be the proverbial pig teammate!

No hope, no hope.

After much consideration, Fang Zheng decided to focus on Academy City, familiar enough with the protagonists there to closely observe and determine if they held Order Core data fragments. As for Armed Detective Academy, Fang Zheng casually deployed a satellite for surveillance, having recorded coordinate core data fluctuations—if such a person appeared, he’d promptly be informed, right?

Thus, after setting everything up, Fang Zheng took Riko Mine and, seizing the open visitation opportunity, entered Academy City.
