Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1704: Chapter 1702: A World Tossed by Time Travel

To be honest, Louise and the others had never imagined that anyone would actually dare to attack the Academy. You had to know, everyone in the Magic Academy was Nobility; this was basically the same as declaring war on the Nobility, and the consequences of that didn’t even need to be mentioned.

”Boom! Boom!!”

Right now that rock giant was pounding at the wall nonstop, smashing a big hole in it. Only at this moment did everyone finally come back to their senses.

”Stop it, now!!”

Louise shouted as she rushed out of the grove, then she raised her right hand and gave a sharp swing toward the rock giant. The next instant, a singularity appeared under the rock giant’s feet, spinning constantly. But the rock giant wasn’t affected at all like Kuruk had been; it just kept minding its own business.

”Why isn’t it working?!”

”No kidding it isn’t, your singularity’s range isn’t even as big as the rock giant!”

Red Ponytail leapt up, vaulting past Louise.

”Leave it to me!”

Before the words had even finished, Louise and the other two saw Red Ponytail reach out, wave her hand in the air, and in the very next second a Greatsword wreathed in flames appeared out of nowhere in her hand. Then Red Ponytail leapt high, her body and sword turning into a streak of fiery meteor that shot straight at the rock giant. With a blazing arc falling from the sky, the next moment that massive Rock People easily four stories tall was cleaved cleanly in two, and then with a ”bang” it completely exploded, turning into dust.

”All right, let me see... so you’re the one doing demolition work out here in the middle of the night?”

One sword to shatter the rock giant, and then Red Ponytail saw the figure standing inside the wall. It looked like a woman, wrapped head to toe in a black long robe, her entire body from top to bottom screaming ”I’m super suspicious.”

”You’re that Familiar Spirits?”

Seeing Red Ponytail block her path, the woman was clearly a bit panicked. She obviously hadn’t expected this petite, cute-looking girl to be this strong. You had to know, the rock giant was her trump card, and it had never failed before. A giant made of stone had extremely strong Anti-Magic; ordinary Magic couldn’t hurt it at all, and swordsmanship was even more out of the question. With the rock giant’s massive size, most Soldiers would turn around and run as soon as they saw it—after all, nobody wanted to get stomped to death, right?

”Stop right there!”

Just then, Louise arrived with Tabasa and Kuruk in tow. Seeing the scene before them, all of them couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

”This is the treasure vault?”

”Don’t tell me you’re Earth Block Fukai?!”

”Who’s that?”

Red Ponytail rested the Greatsword on her shoulder and asked curiously.

”A very famous Mage thief.”

Louise raised her hand, warily watching the Black Robe as she answered in a low voice.

”She has extremely powerful Alchemical Power and specializes in stealing the treasures of Nobility, she’s even attacked banks. But very few people have ever managed to catch her; even the Royal Family’s Magic Guard Team isn’t a match for her. I really didn’t expect her to show up here, and actually attack the Academy’s treasure vault!”

”That’s right, I really didn’t expect a few students like you to have some skills. But too bad... I’ve already got what I wanted!”

”You think you’re getting out of here?!”

Looking at the smug thief in front of her, Louise ground her teeth in anger, while the thief just chuckled, then suddenly raised the huge tube in her hands.

Seeing that tube, both Louise and Kuruk’s expressions changed.

”That’s...!?”

”That’s right, the Staff of Destruction!”

Fukai triumphantly raised the huge tube in her hand that looked about the size of a water pipe, letting out a cold laugh.

”You’ve heard about its power, right? With a single shot it can kill even a Sub-dragon, a terrifying tool! How pitiful, looks like you’re about to become the very first sacrifices to this Magic Wand!”

”Ugh...!”

Hearing this, Louise, Kuruk, and Tabasa all tensed up, staring warily at the big tube in Fukai’s hands.

As for Red Ponytail... ever since Fukai had taken out that ”Staff of Destruction,” her whole face had already gone 0_0.

”Die!!”

Roaring, Fukai hefted the Staff of Destruction onto her shoulder and aimed it at them!

”——————”

Nothing happened.

”.........”

For a moment, both sides fell silent, and Fukai herself seemed quite baffled.

”What’s going on? Why? That old geezer clearly said if I just did this... it would...”

”Oh, you didn’t take the safety off.”

The one who answered her was Red Ponytail on the opposite side, looking completely exasperated.

”Safety?”

”Yeah... basically, it’s something they put on there so amateurs like you don’t accidentally set it off...”

”Damn it, so there really is some Magic Seal on it?!”

”.........”

Faced with Fukai’s angry mutter, Red Ponytail was speechless for a moment, then as if she’d thought of something, she gave a sly little laugh.

”So your target is this ’Staff of Destruction’, huh? In that case, I’ve got an even bigger one here, want it?”

”Huh?!”

Hearing Red Ponytail say that, Louise and the others couldn’t help crying out, and then they saw Red Ponytail casually toss away her Greatsword, and reach into the void to pull out a—huge tube.

Its exterior looked similar to the ”Staff of Destruction” in Fukai’s hands: pitch black all over, with a weird-looking grip. Then Red Ponytail just raised this pitch-black strange weapon and aimed it at the Mage thief.

”Th-this is...?”

”MLRS-1 Hydra-type grenade launcher, loaded with prototype non-nuclear EMP warheads, standard issue for UNSC Army. It’s on a whole different level from that rocket launcher in your hands!”

”You... you...”

Staring at the ”Staff of Destruction” Red Ponytail was aiming at her, Fukai’s face went deathly pale. She hurriedly tossed aside the ”Staff of Destruction” she had no idea how to use and raised her own Magic Wand.

And at that very moment, Red Ponytail had already pulled the trigger with a cheerful grin.

”BOOM!!!”

The deafening explosion filled the entire treasury. Even Louise and the others behind Red Ponytail couldn’t help but retreat a few steps. When they opened their eyes and looked ahead again, they saw that thief lying in a heap in the corner, her whole body Pitch Black, clothes tattered and scorched. Judging by the shockwave from the blast just now, that Mage thief had been blown clean away—thankfully, not blown to bits.

But come to think of it......

”I really didn’t expect to see this thing here.......”

Red Ponytail slung her grenade launcher away, walked up to Fukai with a strange look on her face, and picked up that ”Staff of Destruction”. It was a bit over a meter long, dark green all over, and you could even see a scope and a trigger assembly on it—seriously now, isn’t this just a shoulder-launched anti‑tank rocket launcher?!

And judging by the style, it was an older model, too.

How the hell is this thing here?

Red Ponytail looked at the rocket tube in her hands, then at the crate not far away. It was obvious this thing had been stored in that box. But again—why is there a rocket launcher that Time Traveled over here?! A person Time Traveling over is normal enough; after all, Meiyin and Mel are both soul‑Time‑Travelers, that kind of thing shows up in NovelFires all the time.

But what the hell is this supposed to be?

Don’t tell me someone once opened a Teleportation Gate to the modern world and tried to conquer this world with modern weapons?

If that’s really what happened......oh come on, don’t tell me he lost. If you can’t beat a bunch of natives while holding modern weapons, that’s embarrassingly pathetic, might as well go kill yourself.

Just then, Louise and the others also ran over to the thief, tied her up, and finally got a good look at the thief’s true identity.

The moment she clearly saw the thief’s face, Louise let out a loud scream.

”Ah, it’s Miss Berlange!”

”You know her?”

Red Ponytail looked curiously at the three of them, and Kuruk nodded.

”She’s the principal’s secretary.......”

”Oh, so it’s an inside job then.......”

Red Ponytail just shrugged at that. Whoever the thief was, caught is caught; the rest could be handed over to the higher‑ups to deal with.

Sure enough, not long after, the teacher on night duty rushed over. When he found out that the infamous Earth Block Fukai had attacked the treasury, and that she was actually the principal’s secretary, Berlange, he was utterly stunned and immediately hurried off to notify the principal.

For a while, the whole school was in an uproar. Because of the thief’s attack and the robbery of the treasury, the entire academy immediately went on high alert. As for Louise and the others, they soon got to meet the principal of the Magic Academy.

”I truly never would’ve thought that Miss Berlange was actually Earth Block Fukai.......”

The old man sitting behind the desk sighed with emotion.

”I always thought she was a good person...... after all, she never even got mad when I groped her butt.......”

”.............”

”Ahem.”

Noticing everyone’s looks, the principal coughed awkwardly and finally got back on topic.

”In any case, we really owe you for this. Not only did you stop Earth Block Fukai from attacking the academy, you also protected the Staff of Destruction. This is a major contribution; I will report it to the Royal Family.”

”That reminds me, I just want to know—how did that thing end up in your hands?”

Unable to hold back her curiosity any longer, Red Ponytail cut in.

”That’s not originally yours, right?”

”Correct.”

The old principal gave Red Ponytail a somewhat surprised look, then nodded.

”In fact, this goes back thirty years. At the time, I was attacked by a Demon Beast in the forest and was saved by a strange man wielding a Staff of Destruction. He was severely wounded, and I brought him back to the academy for treatment, but sadly, he still passed away in the end.”

At this, the principal sighed.

”That man had two Staffs of Destruction. I buried one together with him, and presented the other to the Royal Family.......”

”So that’s how it is.”

Hearing this, Red Ponytail nodded. She’d been wondering how this thing ended up in Another World; turns out it was this kind of setup. Pity that guy clearly didn’t have main‑character luck, or he could’ve starred in something like ”Time Traveling to Another World: I Am the Soldier King.”

But speaking of which......

Thinking this, Red Ponytail’s eyes suddenly lit up.

”Hey, Principal, why don’t you use that Staff of Destruction instead of just locking it away?”

”Because no one knows how to use it. I’ve only seen that man use it once, and it didn’t seem to work like an ordinary Magic Staff.”

Well, of course—what it fires isn’t Magic, it’s gunpowder.

”Then... do you want some?”

”You... what do you mean?”

”Staffs of Destruction.”

Red Ponytail grinned at the principal in front of her.

”I’ve got a whole batch of ’Staffs of Destruction’ for sale. If you want them, I can give you a thirty‑percent discount.”

The ’Staffs of Destruction’ Red Ponytail mentioned were the ones Fang Zheng had gotten back in the Dog Food World. At the time, Fang Zheng had burned down America in both the Transformers and Infinite Gem worlds, and while he was at it, he cleaned out their armories as well. Back then, Fang Zheng’s thought was ”since I’m here anyway, might as well take it all.” But later he found out this stuff was not only useless, it was also hogging storage space. Over in his Heavenly Dao Palace, the tech level had already shot past the stratosphere; in the Free World, Type Moon World, and Game World they had no use for it, and in the Mech World their gear was already way more advanced than this junk.

So that batch of weapons in Fang Zheng’s hands had basically become scrap.

But now......

He’d finally found a place to dump his surplus stock!
