Chapter 1707: Chapter 1705: The Princess’s Request

After that, Louise and Red Ponytail’s life temporarily returned to peace. The royal family no longer sought them out, and Tabasa was nowhere to be found afterward, so the group once again returned to tranquility.

Fang Zheng was quite leisurely himself. He multitasked, teaching Felt and Emilia political ideology, while simultaneously guiding Red Ponytail as she helped Louise practice her psionic powers, which was not bad at all.

In comparison, Lina Inverse remained carefree, adventuring without any worry, completely ignoring Fang Zheng’s anxious state.

However, on the other side, in Louise’s world, the situation was not so harmonious.

”Recently, everyone seems quite tense.”

”It’s because of that rebellion, right?”

Although the festival was approaching, the atmosphere on the streets seemed rather tense. Red Ponytail knew a bit about this. This world was not peaceful. Although Emilia’s world faced threats from Demon Kings like the King of the Underworld, there was no other significant concern. But in this world, the situation was different. In fact, Red Ponytail had investigated the circumstances of this world and understood the current issues of the country.

Currently, the continent is in turmoil.

The neighboring Albion is facing a rebellion by the nobility. The royal family has been overthrown, with rumors claiming they want to restore the glory of their ancestors and merge the initially fragmented Holy Land into one. These people are also known as the Restoration Alliance. Meanwhile, Albion is under the attack of the Restoration Alliance. Once Albion falls, the next target is Tolisstin.

Because of this, under the threat of war, even the birth festival doesn’t seem lively, and the petals drifting down the streets are weak and listless.

”I never expected something like this to happen in Albion, it’s simply unimaginable.”

”I find it quite understandable, honestly, I admire those guys.”

Taking a bite of fruit, Red Ponytail shrugged, and hearing her speak, Louise stared in surprise at Red Ponytail.

”Are you serious? Those nobles have overthrown Albion’s royal family!”

If the rulers lose virtue, being overthrown is quite normal. Regardless of the situation in Albion, since the royal family is unable to reverse their fate, it indicates they brought this upon themselves.”

Red Ponytail lacks the notion of nobles and royal families being sacred and inviolable, joking, there have been countless times peasants have rebelled and stormed the imperial palace!

”You too, Louise, status can’t protect you nor solve problems. When blades come near, it’s your power that protects you, not your title. I advise you to remember this. Kings aren’t so great, they don’t have three heads and six arms. If they can’t demonstrate their ability as rulers, then ending up in such a fate is quite normal.”

”But, but......”

Hearing Red Ponytail’s response, Louise couldn’t accept it.

”But no matter what, royal families have noble bloodlines......”

”After the king dies, he rots and stinks in the swamp just like anyone else; wearing a crown doesn’t make his death cleaner than a commoner’s. In the face of death, everyone is equal, and time is the same. The so-called noble bloodline is merely a product to distinguish oneself......to be blunt, it’s just a means to cover up one’s incompetence.”

Red Ponytail snorted lightly, she couldn’t stand the notion of bloodline supremacy. After all, in the Type Moon World, Fang Zheng had single-handedly overthrown and utterly destroyed the centuries-old tradition of mages.

”Honestly, if I were summoned in Albion, I would absolutely help the Restoration Alliance.”

Deep down, Red Ponytail harbors a profound sentiment for unification. In her view, the Restoration Alliance’s desire to unite the divided Haruk Ghinia into one is very natural, and Louise and others’ concerns and opposition are fundamentally insignificant.

In the past, when Qin State swept across the Six Kingdoms, those nobles and ministers probably viewed Qin State much like how they perceive the Restoration Alliance. Qin Shi Huang was depicted as a tyrant. Yet, he left behind a unified nation that endures to this day. Qin Shi Huang’s fame is timeless, and no one will forget.

As for the stubborn scholars, nobles, and ministers from the Six Kingdoms, they’re just mantises before the wheels of history, mere background jesters under the First Emperor’s radiance.

”Saber, do you really think those guys are great?”

Hearing this, Louise grew increasingly dissatisfied, while Red Ponytail calmly picked up a skewer of barbecued meat.

”Personally? I don’t have much of an opinion, generally we don’t intervene much. Of course, since I’m now summoned by you as your familiar spirit, if you encounter life-threatening danger, then naturally I will protect you. But if you want me to express my thoughts, then I’d say there’s nothing wrong with their intention to unify the Holy Land. If they succeed, maybe future history books will depict them as great heroes, and consider you resistance fighters as arrogant fools.”

”That’s impossible!”

Louise’s eyes widened, increasingly incredulous.

”Clearly they are the invaders! Moreover, overthrowing the royal family is completely unforgivable!”

”Why is it unforgivable?”

”This......”

Faced with Red Ponytail’s retort, Louise was momentarily at a loss for words.

”If the royal family cannot govern the nation well, then they deserve to be overthrown and let more capable people govern.”

”But the nobles are rebelling!”

”Failure to suppress the nobles’ rebellion clearly indicates the royal family’s incompetence.”

Red Ponytail remained unfazed, joking, in the Celestial Dynasty, capable emperors never feared factionalism or those controlling politics. In general, when eunuch parties run rampant, and secret police ruin the state, it roughly indicates the ruler has completely lost control, and the nation is on the brink of collapse.

”Well, what if the same thing happens in Tolisstin?”

”I will protect your life, after all, you are my Summoner.”

”And what about this country?”

”That’s none of my business.”

Red Ponytail finished the last skewer of roasted meat in her hand and spread her palms.

”To me, whether the royal family of this country is overthrown is irrelevant. Or rather, it might be better if they are overthrown. After all, determining status by bloodline is the most foolish thing ever. I heard the current Minister of Military Affairs is of civilian origin, yet the nobility always looks down on him? Ha ha ha, if someday he becomes the King and captures all those nobles to be executed, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.”

”You... how dare you say such things!”

Louise’s face turned pale at this moment, while Red Ponytail looked at her with a serious expression.

”In our world, evaluating a person’s status by bloodline rather than ability is extremely foolish. In that world, if those nobles expect to gain respect through their family honor and bloodline, they will only be laughed at. Of course, any noble has glory; perhaps their ancestors achieved great feats, perhaps they were ministers who served well. But, what does that have to do with others? Obviously, it was the ancestors who fought hard to achieve those things, yet the descendants shamelessly take it as their symbol of honor. Isn’t that overly ridiculous?”

”............”

”Louise, you’re the same. Bloodline doesn’t signify anything. Indeed, perhaps nobles wielding magic is impressive. However, if civilians genuinely wanted to resist you, even without the weapons I provide, they could defeat you.”

”Just those civilians?”

Upon hearing this, Louise frowned and looked disdainful, while Red Ponytail stared at her.

”Yes, Albion is just the beginning. Perhaps someday, the nobility of this world will be completely overthrown, with no more Kings, no more nobles. Of course, there may be changes in social classes, but those days where bloodline alone justified ordering others will be gone forever.”

”.........”

Louise didn’t immediately speak this time. After a moment of silence, she softly inquired.

”Are you referring to your world?”

”More or less.”

Red Ponytail shrugged, not denying the treatment differences between classes. However, what Red Ponytail opposed was dividing classes based on bloodline. In her view, those with abilities should be on top, and those without should be at the bottom—that’s just natural. If you don’t have abilities, you deserve to spin at the bottom of society, and if you do have abilities, you can go further.

Of course, this can’t really be called fair, since ability itself is a rather elusive thing. But at least compared to bloodline, it’s considered quite reliable.

”.........”

After a moment of silence, Louise stood up.

”Let’s go back.”

”Not watching the parade floats? Didn’t you say the Princess would come out to mingle?”

”Not interested anymore.”

”Alright then.”

Red Ponytail naturally wanted to correct Louise’s views. To be honest, Red Ponytail had no affection for the country of Tolisstin. The bloodline theory of this country was too extreme, where nobles were inevitably superior. This attitude greatly annoyed Red Ponytail. If it hadn’t been for someone from this country Summoning her... well, talking about this now is pointless.

Might as well give Louise a lesson in ideological and political studies.

After this, Louise, who lost interest in watching the festival, returned to her room, sat at her desk flipping through a book without a word, looking much like Tabasa. Red Ponytail, however, didn’t mind at all. After all, what she said was practically earth-shattering, destroying all three views for a noble girl from this era. It was only natural for Louise to need some time to think it over.

But just when they were about to rest in the evening, an unexpected guest suddenly arrived.

”Louise, I really don’t know what to do.”

Wearing a black cloak, and looking as if she couldn’t face anyone, the person who entered the room wasn’t anyone else but the Princess of this country whom Red Ponytail had previously seen—Henrietta.

After closing the door, she almost rushed over instantly, tightly hugging Louise.

”Her Royal Highness? This is quite shocking, you...”

Faced with this sudden scene, Louise was clearly stunned.

”Don’t be so formal. Aren’t we good friends, Louise? There are no ministers here, no mother, and no nobility. Can’t you be like before with me?”

”No, of course not! But why did you come here?”

”Louise......”

Upon hearing this, Henrietta released the girl she was holding, looked at her sadly, and then said.

”I’m getting married.”
