Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

In this way, Gaul’s seventy thousand troops set out, but before they could leave the country, it all ended in a dramatic fashion.

With the passing of the King of Gaul, Tabasa naturally became the King of Gaul, and in fact, the seventy thousand troops almost immediately supported Tabasa’s accession to the throne...... In response, Tabasa eventually chose to accept.

As for the red ponytail......

”You haven’t mentioned taking me away from here lately?”

Curiously looking at the red ponytail swinging her legs beside her, Josette asked. She remembered the red ponytail originally came to say she would take her to find her family, but she didn’t immediately agree then, and after that, the red ponytail never brought up the topic again.

”Mm, because I realized happiness varies from person to person.”

The red ponytail suddenly brought up another topic, surprising Josette.

”You see, generally, the mainstream idea in society is like this: if a child grows up far from their parents, they must long for a reunion with them. When they meet, they’d embrace with tears, reconciling and loving each other......”

At this point, the red ponytail spread her hands.

”But if you think about it carefully, if one hasn’t lived with their parents since they can remember, would they really have feelings for their biological parents? Although literature says that blood ties cannot be severed, emotions vary from person to person, right? For example, knowing you have a mother, what’s your thought? Excited? Thrilled? Want to meet her immediately?”

”.........”

Josette pondered for a moment, then shook her head.

”To be honest, I really... don’t know what to say, but since I became sensible, the nun master has treated me very well......”

”See, this is the issue. If one is abused, they might long for their biological parents’ warmth, but conversely, that’s just hoping someone would love them, right? If they’re already loved, then having no affection for their biological parents is quite normal. Although running contrary to societal expectations, personally, that’s the case.”

”So, then?”

”And so... I feel now that whether you want to leave, it’s for you to decide. This monastery is admittedly boring, but that’s what a plain life is, right? And you are used to it. However, the outside world is different, especially your identity; you’re not just a regular farmstead child. If you leave here and return to your real family, you’ll inevitably face rumors, conspiracies, and slanders. Some will want to use you, some will want to harm you, and some will want to threaten you.”

The red ponytail stretched lazily.

”By the way, your sister Tabasa... oh no, it’s Charlotte now, has decided to be the next King of Gaul.”

”Is that so......”

Even hearing the red ponytail say that, Josette still felt no real sense, but she could feel the girl beside her was real.

”Do you want to meet them? Your mother and sister?”

”Little Hong, what do you think?”

”I said, according to the common societal values, you should meet them now, embrace and cry in the bond of blood, becoming a family. But...”

At this point, the red ponytail sighed rare.

”Reality is not so easy.”

While speaking, the red ponytail lifted her head. She couldn’t help but think of Fate and Precia. Indeed, by typical perception, after resolving their issues, they should become closer. But in fact, although Elysia revived, Precia tried hard to act like a mother, Fate and her remain awkward.

Precia several times came to Fang Zheng, wishing him to raise Fate instead. To be strict, whenever they met, there was always a bit of awkwardness between them. Luckily, with Elysia’s presence, theirs could manage some harmony, but if Elysia weren’t there... Fate and Precia would not have much to say.

For Precia, she initially didn’t care for Fate; in her view, Fate was merely a tool to revive Elysia, so she never liked Fate. But the so-called darkening is enjoyable for a while, but washing it away is hell. Now, as she sees Fate, Precia is left with nothing but guilt and immense remorse.

As for Fate, it’s the same. She always longed for Precia’s love, but when Precia enjoyed darkening, telling Fate the truth, Fate’s fantasy shattered. The gentle mother in her memory didn’t belong to her, but to Elysia. Precia was never gentle to her, because she wasn’t Elysia......

Fate is a child after all; if she could remain unscathed after all this, she wouldn’t be a child, she would be a saintess. So when spending time with Precia, if Precia showed a gentle side, Fate would wonder if this was voluntary by her mother, or was she doing it to prevent hurting Elysia sister’s feelings?

Thus, to avoid each other, Precia mostly buried herself in work, while Fate more often stayed in Heavenly Dao Palace using study as an excuse, rather than returning home to Magical Girl World.

For both sides, it’s actually more comfortable not seeing each other.

Only Elysia is quite worried, hence she also turned to Fang Zheng, hoping he could convince her mother and Fate to reconcile.

Yet even a wise judge finds household matters difficult.

Even reaching divine status, household matters are irritating the most.

Josette was unaware she had a mother and sister, and Tabasa didn’t know she had a sister either, and their mother never cared for Josette after handing her to the monastery......

With the current situation, the red ponytail reckoned if the three met, their awkwardness would probably not be better than Fate and Precia’s.

”So I leave it to you, because the societal impression belongs to society, but your emotions belong to you.”

Many times, those moved to tears aren’t insiders, but outsiders.

What needs considering then is whether to satisfy societal demand, or personal desire.

For example, if a couple accidentally loses their child, and afterward they exhaust all their resources, try tirelessly, and finally one day find their lost child, they rush up embracing the child crying loudly, and when the observers think of the couple’s efforts and sacrifices over the years, they too are moved to tears.

But what about the child?

Or perhaps in the embrace, the child remains bewildered with an expression of, ”Who am I? Where am I? Who are these people?”

After all, for that child, it was not these two people who raised him from the time he could remember, nor was it these two who took him to the hospital when he was sick, nor who scolded him when he failed his exams, nor praised him when he succeeded...

No matter how much the other person has spent, sacrificed, he could never truly empathize.

Because everyone’s identity belongs to themselves.

While emotions belong to the public.

Just as a movie can make the entire theater cry, the actors in it might have completely different thoughts and feelings.

”...I’ve made my decision.”

Josette thought for a long while, then opened her mouth to speak.

”Please help me convey to my mother and sister whom I’ve never met... I will pray for them here, but... it’s better not to meet.”

”You’ve decided?”

”Yes, it seems like meeting would not bring anything good.”

Three people, three lives.

This is also quite normal.

”Then let’s leave it at that.”

Red Ponytail stood up and stretched.

”I will convey it to them, they should be able to understand.”

”So, Little Hong, will you come to see me in the future?”

”Of course, as long as I stay in this world for another day, I will come to chat with you.”

After saying this, Red Ponytail winked at Josette, then vanished into the black night. Josette stared dazedly in the direction that Red Ponytail left, then sighed softly and turned towards the monastery.

When Red Ponytail returned to the dormitory at the academy, she found a petite figure sitting on the bed with her back to her.

”Where did you go?”

Louise, with her back to Red Ponytail, asked dissatisfiedly.

”I went to see Josette, um, Tabasa’s sister, a good kid.”

Red Ponytail answered casually, but Louise snorted lightly.

”But, but...”

”Hmm?”

”You should at least say something to me, you know how worried I was when I woke up in the middle of the night and found you weren’t there? I’m supposed to be your master! You are my summoned familiar, shouldn’t you tell me where you are going?”

Oh, it has that vibe!

Listening to Louise’s awkward speech reminded Red Ponytail of the anime... although she only watched one episode, Louise seemed to act like this at that time!

But Red Ponytail has her own way of dealing with Louise.

”Alright, sorry.”

As she spoke, Red Ponytail lunged forward and hugged Louise from behind.

”Sorry, my master, I made you worry, come, pat pat...”

”Wait, why are you patting me like this, do you think I’m a little cat or dog?”

”Isn’t it nice? Cute little kitty master? Hehehe, don’t be angry, let’s sleep, it’s cold at night.”

”Hmph, you do this every time, do you think I’ll fall for it? Uh... though it is indeed a bit cold, but don’t hug so tightly... I still have questions I want to ask you.”

”Can’t you ask after lying in bed? Come, come, sleep sleep.”

”Uh... hmm...”

”...”

”Hoo... hoo...”

See, simple.

Watching Louise who had closed her eyes and fallen asleep, Red Ponytail chuckled and snapped her fingers, then she gently patted Louise’s head and closed her eyes.

At this moment, deeply asleep Louise had long forgotten to question Red Ponytail about why she didn’t turn her into a Magical Girl.
