Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Although Tabasa wanted to rush to the Royal Palace immediately to avenge her father, in the end, she had to temporarily abandon the idea since her mother still needed her care, and...

”It’s easy to kill that bastard, but then what?”

Red Ponytail said while munching on a biscuit.

”Your target for revenge is the King, right? If you kill him, there will be no King for this country. Are you planning to become the King?”

”This........”

Faced with Red Ponytail’s words, Tabasa was left speechless for a moment. To be honest, she had never thought about becoming the King, but what Red Ponytail said was indeed a problem.

”Charlotte, I believe this is your duty.”

At this moment, Tabasa’s mother also spoke.

”You are the rightful heir of the Royal Family, and that despicable scoundrel assassinated your father and took the throne. It’s time for us to take it back.”

”But... mother, I...”

Tabasa furrowed her brows, looking at her mother, then at Red Ponytail, who merely shrugged.

”If you don’t want to, it’s fine. Let your sister be the King.”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, Tabasa was taken aback.

”I have a sister?”

”Yes, your biological sister. You didn’t know?”

”I didn’t know... mother?!”

Saying this, Tabasa looked at her mother in shock. After her father’s death, Tabasa always thought that it was just her and her mother left in the world. Now she discovered she had a sister?! What was going on? Why had her mother never told her?!

”........”

Faced with Tabasa’s gaze, her mother lowered her head uneasily and nodded.

”Yes, Tabasa, you do have a sister.”

”But why have I never seen her?!”

After receiving confirmation from her mother, Tabasa could no longer hold back.

”I originally intended to execute your sister, but I couldn’t bear to have her die, so I sent her away somewhere...”

”Why must my sister be executed?”

”Because the Gaul Royal Clan once had an internal feud involving twins, so according to regulations, it had to be...”

”Ha, isn’t that the same situation now?”

Before Tabasa’s mother could finish, Red Ponytail laughed coldly, and Tabasa’s mother lowered her head, not knowing what to say. Indeed, as Red Ponytail mentioned, the rule seemed pointless because the current King killed his brother to ascend the throne.

”The person who set the rule must have been an idiot, otherwise they wouldn’t have come up with such a dumb method... never mind, I’ll go check out the situation first. Tabasa, you take care of things here with your mother. As for that King... we can kill him with a single sword swipe whenever we want, right?”

”Of course, um... Divine Envoy?”

”Hmm?”

”I want to take my mother to Tolisstin immediately. As difficult as it is to say, but if we stay here, we might be discovered by the King’s spies...”

”No problem. You can go find Henrietta and say I agreed.”

Red Ponytail had no objections to this, as Tolisstin was currently safer than Gaul. If the King discovered that Tabasa’s mother had regained her senses, who knows what actions he might take. Although Tabasa herself should have enough power to deal with him right now, it’s always easier to defend against the obvious than the hidden. It would be better to send her mother to a safe place first, reunite with her sister, and then consider the next steps.

Another night fell.

A nun with long silver hair stood quietly at the edge of a cliff, gazing at the sea under the moonlight. Her eyes were calm yet somewhat disinterested.

The life in the Monastery was peaceful and quiet, which was everything to the girl who had lived here since she was born.

But... what is the outside world like?

”Are you Josette?”

Just then, a sweet and lively voice that resembled a warbler’s suddenly rang out, startling the silver-haired girl. She turned her head in surprise to find a younger girl with twin ponytails like flames sitting on the nearby wall, smiling at her.

”Who, who are you? Be careful, it’s dangerous, come down!”

Though curious about the girl’s identity, Josette was more concerned about her current position on the high wall, knowing that people had been injured from falling off it before. If this girl accidentally fell...

”Oh, don’t be so tense.”

Upon hearing Josette’s call, the red-haired twin-tailed girl chuckled, then leaped off the wall and landed steadily on the ground before Josette could shout.

”Are you okay?”

”This height is nothing to me. But let’s return to the question earlier; are you Josette?”

”Yes.”

Hearing the red-haired girl’s question, Josette nodded.

”Little sister, who are you? You’re not from the Monastery... and you don’t look like someone planning to join either.”

”This place is too quiet for me.”

The girl waved her hand.

”I’m the messenger of the God of Magical Girls, the righteous Magical Girl Red Ponytail. You can call me Little Hong.”

”Are you the messenger of God?”

Upon hearing this, Josette’s eyes sparkled, and Red Ponytail giggled.

”I’m the messenger of the God of Magical Girls, strictly speaking, I’m not related to the great Founder you believe in.”

”Is, is that so...?”

Faced with Red Ponytail’s response, Josette seemed puzzled.

”The complex stuff is hard to understand? It’s okay if you don’t get it. Anyway, I’m here to get you.”

”Get me...?”

”Exactly. Do you want to leave here? Go back to your home?”

”My home... Little Hong sister, I don’t understand what you mean.”

”Yeah...”

Responding to Josette’s puzzled reply, Red Ponytail nodded.

”If someone showed up in front of me and said that, I might suspect they were a kidnapper.”

”What... is a kidnapper?”

”Uh... it’s a bit inappropriate for children, so let’s skip it.”

Red Ponytail waved her hand, then approached Josette’s side.

”So, let’s have a chat first... you don’t mind, right?”

”Chat?”

”Yes, you grew up here since you were little, tell me what life is like in the monastery, and in exchange, I can tell you some things you want to know.”

”Really?”

Josette’s eyes widened upon hearing this.

”Can you tell me about the outside world?”

”... I thought you’d want to ask about your origins or something... but whatever, of course I can.”

”Then... let me talk first, the monastery, our daily life is very regular...”

Josette quickly began talking about her life in the monastery to Red Ponytail, to be honest, it might seem harsh to an outsider that someone is sent to an isolated monastery after birth and lives this kind of life. But in fact, for the person involved, this life is bland but not bad. Except not being able to leave the monastery and go to the outside world, everything else is very peaceful.

Of course, children who have been here since birth are relatively lively because they don’t understand why they are here — or they don’t even have that concept. The ”nuns from outside” (Josette’s words), however, often look deeply affected by tragedy and seem to carry the world’s misfortune.

Really don’t know which side is happier.

Watching Josette talk with such excitement, Red Ponytail sighed inwardly. By ”common sense,” being forcibly separated from her sister and mother, living alone in the monastery, Josette should naturally be pitiful.

But looking at reality, Tabasa lost her father, then witnessed her own mother drink poison, lose her mind, and for years had to fight for her father’s killer to protect her mother... At least the current Tabasa could never show such an innocent smile as Josette.

So maybe Josette is lucky in her misfortune...?

”Well then, Little Hong, your turn, what’s the outside world like?”

”The outside world... the outside world is huge...”

Upon hearing Josette’s curious inquiry, Red Ponytail chuckled and then opened a personal terminal.

”Here, let me show you something good...”

In the following days, Red Ponytail would visit Josette every night, listening to Josette talk about monastery life and then telling her about the happenings outside, not just of this world but other worlds, various different worlds, all of which Josette listened to with great interest.

However, after that, Red Ponytail didn’t mention taking Josette away again. Although Tabasa was somewhat puzzled, she didn’t ask further. In her view, the Divine Envoy must have his plan.

Then, a few days later, Red Ponytail suddenly received an invitation from Henrietta, and upon entering the Royal Palace, she was surprised to find not only Henrietta and Louise but also the Minister of Military Affairs and Tabasa present.

”What’s going on? Looking at your expressions, are you all hungry at noon?”

”You’ve finally arrived, Divine Envoy.”

Seeing Red Ponytail appear, Henrietta sighed with relief, then she looked at the Minister of Military Affairs, who began to speak.

”Report to the Divine Envoy, in fact, just this morning, we received a letter from the envoy of the King of Gaul.”

”Oh, go on.”

Red Ponytail nodded but didn’t say much, as the Minister of Military Affairs took out the letter and continued.

”In the letter, His Majesty the King claims that we have sheltered rebels and demands that we return them to Gaul immediately, otherwise, Gaul will use this as a reason to wage war against us.”

”Oh, that King seems quite free.”

Red Ponytail remained calm, but Louise could no longer keep her composure.

”Wait a minute, just like that? But this is war! Aren’t you worried?”

”The other side is not bluffing, in fact, we’ve already received intelligence, Gaul’s seventy thousand troops are massing at our border... we don’t know what that King might do.”

”Logically speaking, at this time should I say ’he wants war, then war’ for more grandeur? But...”

Red Ponytail squinted, looking at the Minister of Military Affairs and Henrietta.

”You don’t want to fight, right.”

”Yes, Divine Envoy.”

Henrietta nodded.

”Honestly, I deeply sympathize with Miss Tabasa’s plight, but as Queen, I must safeguard my country. Albion’s case aside, but now domestic reforms have just begun, plus Albion’s domain is not entirely stable, if a war breaks out at this time, it wouldn’t be wise.”

”Hmm, I can understand.”

Red Ponytail nodded.

”Then let’s resolve this matter with Magical Girl methods.”

”Huh?”

Everyone was stunned upon hearing this.

”Magical Girl... methods?”

”That’s right.”

Red Ponytail nodded, then reached out her hand.

”Alright, let’s sort this out. The King’s goal is to harm Tabasa and her mother, correct?”

”Yes.”

Henrietta wasn’t a fool, naturally understood the ill intent behind it, with accusations of treason, the outcome is obvious without further explanation.

”Then, Tabasa, you’re a Magical Girl now, aren’t you?”

”... Yes.”

Tabasa nodded.

”Do you think you can fight against seventy thousand troops?”

”...”

Tabasa shook her head, though she had tested her powers after becoming a Magical Girl, but she didn’t arrogantly believe she could resist seventy thousand troops.

”So, this King wants to bully someone, huh.”

Red Ponytail snorted, slammed the table hard.

”Bullying us Magical Girls! Can this be tolerated? Of course not! Damn it! Tabasa is now a Magical Girl under the protection of the God of Magical Girls, shielded by our Lord, but a mere mortal dares to go against a Magical Girl under our Lord’s protection? It’s disrespectful to me, disrespectful to our Lord, and disrespectful to Magical Girls! Today, I’ll pummel him till he doesn’t know why flowers are so red!”

Everyone was shocked.

”Divine Envoy, you, you mean... we’re going to war with Gaul?”

Henrietta nervously queried as Red Ponytail rolled her eyes.

”What war?”

”Huh?”

”When they come at us Magical Girls, we fight back, this isn’t war, it’s a brawl!”

With that, Red Ponytail stood up.

”Come on, Tabasa, Henrietta, don’t worry about Gaul or Tolisstin, this is between us Magical Girls and the King of Gaul, let’s go beat up those seventy thousand troops first!”
