Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1547: Chapter 1545: I’m Still Going to Crash Your Party (Had an Interesting Dream Last Night)

There was no denying it; everyone was shocked by what Red Ponytail said.

The World Tree of a Thousand Realms was hardly famous in Europe, only revealing itself once during a confrontation with the Mage’s Association. But now only the higher-ups of the Mage’s Association remember them—which is quite normal, given that information from below is blocked.

Yet now... are they actually confronting the Magic Eye Collecting Train head-on?

”Isn’t what you’re doing a bit inappropriate, Miss Red Ponytail?”

At this moment, Kayano Riri stepped forward with a cheerful smile.

”Everyone here is a magician. What you’re doing could stir up public anger, you know?”

”Them?”

Fang Zheng shot a sideways glance around the room. Although she didn’t say anything, it was clear to everyone that her expression screamed, ”I’m not singling anyone out; I’m saying all of you here are trash.”

Several magicians immediately clenched their fists, tensed their bodies, and then... sat back down.

They hadn’t forgotten the scene where Red Ponytail vanquished the child of the Fuhai Forest. To fight a creature that could, with a flick of the wrist, destroy the child of the Fuhai Forest—no magician here was that foolish!

”Listen up, I’ll say this just once.”

Fang Zheng glared at the Daughter of Roses before her and whispered.

”In consideration of Aertulky, I’ll give you this one chance... I don’t care if you’re just a clone, even if it’s Rita Rozian herself, I’ll say it now. Don’t even think about targeting our World Tree of a Thousand Realms, or I’ll send this wreck of a train to Western Paradise. Do you understand what I mean? I mean what I say.”

”.........”

Hearing this, the Daughter of Roses was silent for a moment, then retreated.

”Then, the magic eye removal surgery concludes here.”

After saying this, the Daughter of Roses vanished into the air once more. Only then did the surrounding magicians breathe a sigh of relief. They had no desire to get caught up in the confrontation between the World Tree of a Thousand Realms and the Magic Eye Collecting Train. More importantly, they had come to buy magic eyes, not to cause trouble. If Red Ponytail really did smash the Magic Eye Collecting Train’s event, wouldn’t the magic eyes they wanted to buy be gone too?

”Hmph.”

At this point, Fang Zheng sheathed her sword and, accompanied by the girls, walked out of the guest compartment. It was then that she saw Lord El-Melloi II approaching.

”Hey, you’re alive!”

”Thank you so much this time.”

Red Ponytail greeted him, but Lord El-Melloi II frowned slightly and said softly.

”You’re welcome; it was just a side task for me anyway.”

Fang Zheng waved her hand, then left directly, having no interest in whatever task the Detective might undertake next. Weber might enjoy this kind of thing, but Fang Zheng... was always indifferent to such mundane matters.

”Thank you so much, Little Hong.”

Back in the room, Fujino and Shizune also breathed a sigh of relief, while Ryougi Shiki said nothing.

”It’s just my duty; you don’t need to worry. After all, not just anyone can provoke our World Tree of a Thousand Realms. If it’s a mage or Akatsuki that’s one thing, but a mere Senior Dead Apostle daring to flaunt before us strikes our pride, doesn’t it?”

”But this settles things, doesn’t it?”

”What are you talking about?”

”Eh?”

Fujino was startled by Fang Zheng’s response.

”Isn’t it over yet?”

”Of course not; it would be impolite not to reciprocate. Later, we’re going to attend the auction... and by then, all the magic eyes up for auction and those on this train, we’ll take them all!”

”.........”

Hearing this, the three were utterly stunned, until after a moment, Seo Shizune reacted and asked nervously.

”But, but Little Hong, isn’t this just robbery?”

”Exactly, it is robbery. Didn’t this train gather you here to rob you of your magic eyes? If you’re going to rob others of their things, you should be prepared to be robbed yourself.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, she snapped her fingers.

”Besides, such dangerous things as magic eyes shouldn’t be privately stored here; what if something happens? For justice, for freedom, for world peace, we must confiscate these magic eyes for safekeeping... and we’re not even unwilling to pay!”

”Uh......”

Hearing this, the three of them stared at each other, momentarily speechless. Though Fang Zheng’s logic sounded flawed... but...

”Isn’t this fun?”

Ryougi Shiki was the first to express agreement. She had been quite upset about her magic eye being up for sale—it was her eye after all, and someone wanted to take it away with just a few words? Did they really think she didn’t exist? Now that she had the chance to teach them a lesson, she certainly wouldn’t object.

As for Asakami Fujino and Seo Shizune... they neither supported nor opposed, more or less consenting by default.

Finally, it was already late at night when the sound of the conductor rang out again.

”Ladies and gentlemen—the Magic Eye Auction is about to commence. Please proceed to the second carriage, the Library of Ten Thousand Demon Eyes.”

Library of Ten Thousand Demon Eyes.

As its name suggests, this place looked even larger than a university lecture hall, with all sorts of eyeballs displayed everywhere, making one feel uncomfortable just looking at it. In the elegantly decorated stage center, the conductor and the auctioneer were already prepared.

”Thank you for your patience.”

Once confirming everyone was present, the conductor spoke again.

”There are five magic eyes up for auction this time. The performance and terms of each magic eye, expected closing price, and auction notes are all described in the catalog in your hands. Please check in advance. Additionally, as per the prior explanation, this auction will use the US Dollar as the currency unit, which may cause dissatisfaction among some guests, for which we apologize. This train also offers a US Dollar exchange service and can connect with the outside world, allowing you to check your financing status at will. Please feel free to use these services.”

After saying this, the conductor stepped aside, and the auctioneer took the stage.

”Then, the Magic Eye Auction will now begin.”

As he spoke, the auctioneer lifted the gavel.

”The first item is the ’Flame Burning’ magic eye, with an opening bid of one million US Dollars. Let the bidding begin.”

As the auctioneer’s voice fell, the sound of bidding immediately erupted.

”1.1 million!”

”1.2 million!”

”1.3 million!”

After the initial bids, suddenly, a girl with long pink hair and a star-shaped monocle raised her paddle.

”Five million!”

The pink-haired girl’s bid instantly outdid a group of paupers, but soon, a man in a white suit began to contest her.

”Six million!”

”6.1 million!”

”6.2 million!”

Next, a young man with white hair raised his paddle.

”Ten million!”

Seeing the young man with white hair, Asakami Fujino blinked in confusion.

”Strange, was this person here before?”

”Who knows? I don’t care either...”

Fang Zheng yawned, and just at this moment, the auctioneer raised the gavel.

”Ten million, any more bids?”

As soon as the auctioneer finished speaking, Fang Zheng directly raised his hand.

”Twenty million.”

”......”

Hearing this, all the magicians present simultaneously turned their gaze towards Fang Zheng, though raising the bid was normal, doubling the price all at once was too much...

”Twenty million going once, twenty million going twice, twenty million sold.”

After confirming no one else was bidding, the auctioneer banged down the gavel.

”Sold, now moving on to the next item. It’s the Plundering Demon Eye. Once again, I remind everyone to check the liability clauses in the catalog. This eye is a ’Gold’ tier, starting bid at five million US Dollars.”

Soon, the magicians began their contest again, this time with a pink-haired girl starting the bid at forty million US Dollars, defeating other competitors.

However......

”Forty million, any more bids?”

Fang Zheng yawned, raised his hand once more.

”Eighty million.”

”............”

This time, the magicians’ faces all changed.

They exchanged glances, a rather ominous thought arose within them.

Could it be......

And next, as if to validate their uneasiness, for the remaining two magic eyes, Fang Zheng didn’t even bid, he simply won each with a price double the highest bid. The atmosphere in the auction house was becoming a bit restless and tense. Although they didn’t know what was going on, from the looks of it, Miss Red Ponytail was intending to take over the entire auction’s collection of magic eyes!!

”Next, the final magic eye.”

Saying so, the auctioneer solemnly bowed to the magic eye beside him.

”This is also the first time for this train to handle a ’Mystic Eye of the Gem’. It’s not only my fortune, but also a supreme luck for everyone present.”

Saying this, the auctioneer took a deep breath.

”Starting bid is thirty million US Dollars.”

”Seventy million!”

”Eighty million!”

Unlike the previous magic eyes, this time everyone invested all their money and willpower. After all, it’s a Mystic Eye of the Gem. Originally, if Ryougi Shiki’s Direct Death or Fujino’s Compound Mystic Eyes were to appear, they would sell for even higher astronomical prices, but... unfortunately, neither planned to sell.

As they called out their bids, the magicians were also secretly observing Miss Red Ponytail, silently praying she wouldn’t make any more moves. Perhaps she was using a horse-racing strategy? In that case, it wouldn’t matter if the previous four magic eyes were handed over to her, as long as they could secure the Mystic Eye of the Gem, it would be enough!

”Hundred and twenty million!”

Soon, the amount climbed to an inaccessible height for the ordinary person. Those vying for the magic eye were the young man with white hair, the affluent pink-haired girl who always placed high bids, and Olga Marie.

Of course, they were both bidding while cautiously keeping an eye on Miss Red Ponytail.

However, right then, an unexpected fourth competitor appeared.

”Hundred and forty million!”

Kayano Riri entered the battle, which startled the magicians.

The competition quickly resumed, and after reaching two hundred million, Olga Marie and the young man with white hair put down their paddles. Now, only the pink-haired girl and Kayano Riri were left competing.

”Two hundred and ten million!”

”Two hundred and twenty million!”

”Two hundred and thirty million!”

Under Kayano Riri’s pressure, the pink-haired girl finally opted to concede. Witnessing this, the auctioneer nodded and then raised the gavel.

”Two hundred and thirty million, anyone else?”

”...........”

No one said a word, everyone glanced at Miss Red Ponytail, and as expected, at that moment, Miss Red Ponytail slowly raised...

However, just at that moment, another voice sounded.

”Two hundred and forty million!”

Hearing this voice, all the magicians present were stunned, even Fang Zheng showed a surprised expression, looking at Lord El-Melloi II holding up the paddle.

Huh? Since when could this poor guy bid two hundred and forty million?

”I said two hundred and forty million.”

Lord El-Melloi II sat there, unmoved.

”Can we continue, auctioneer?”

”Well...”

Upon hearing Lord El-Melloi II’s words, the auctioneer nodded, and just as she was about to announce to continue, the white-haired young man suddenly raised his hand.

”Wait a moment! Don’t you think the atmosphere is a bit too tense right now? Sorry, but can we take a short break?”

”........”

Facing the proposal of the young man with white hair, the auctioneer hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

”Accepting your proposal, we will now take a fifteen-minute break.”

”What’s this nonsense, it’s the final one, why not just finish it up?”

Watching as the crowd left their seats, Ryougi Shiki grumbled discontentedly, while Fang Zheng shrugged.

”Who cares, after all, the final victor will be us, it’s just a matter of time.”

As he reopened his PSP, Fang Zheng responded.
