Chapter 1539: Chapter 1537: Magic Eye Collecting Train (A Purr from the Wide-Mouthed Ba, Part 3)

After resting for a night, the fatigue of the three girls dissipated considerably, so early the next morning, they followed Miss Red Ponytail to the dining car for breakfast.

However......

”I can’t eat anymore......”

Although the food on the table looked very delicious, Seo Shizune had a sickened expression, and Asakami Fujino and Ryougi Shiki weren’t any better.

It’s not because there’s anything wrong with the breakfast in front of them, but rather due to the object placed in the center of the dining car.

It was a glass cylinder, containing a pair of eyeballs soaked in liquid.

Anyone normal would lose their appetite seeing something like this, right?

Unfortunately, it seemed there weren’t many normal people here besides them. Not only that, the woman with straps around her eyes earlier was standing by, providing an explanation.

”These are NOBLE COLOR———Blaze Demon Eyes, as you all probably know, these ignite objects entering their view———causing spontaneous combustion phenomena. They’re in good condition, and the quality of the magic circuit within is top-notch. However, Blaze Demon Eyes usually have control issues, for detailed information and an appraisal please refer to......”

”Hey.”

Upon hearing this, Ryougi Shiki nudged the nearby Fujino.

”Doesn’t this sound a bit like your Distorted Magic Eyes?”

”......I can’t eat anymore either.”

Fujino’s mouth twitched, putting down the knife and fork in her hands, it felt as if her own eyeballs were being explained by someone else right there, no matter how she thought about it, it was uncomfortable!

At this moment, the dining car’s door opened again, and a cloaked girl appeared.

”Yo, Gray.”

Seeing Gray enter the dining car, Fang Zheng waved at her, and looking at Fang Zheng and the others, Gray hesitated for a moment, but still came over.

”Why are you alone? Where’s Weber?”

”Master...... is still sleeping..........”

”He’s grown up, yet still lazing in bed?”

Fang Zheng widened his eyes at Gray’s answer, then cheerfully patted the seat next to him.

”How about it? Want to join us for breakfast?”

”Well...... alright.”

Facing Fang Zheng’s invitation, Gray hesitated for a moment, then nodded, sitting beside Fang Zheng. Soon, an attendant served her breakfast, and after greeting the three, Gray obediently started eating — she didn’t even glance at the eyeballs over there, perhaps this was the best choice for dining.

Meanwhile, the staff brought over another pair of eyeballs.

”Plundering Demon Eye, as the name suggests, these directly plunder the vitality of organisms within sight, rated as gold, although somewhat old, it’s well preserved. However due to the nature of the magic eye, it may cause harm to the host......”

”This magic eye is interesting.”

Upon hearing this, Ryougi Shiki showed a predatory expression.

”I wonder what it would be like to battle an opponent wielding such magic eyes.”

”Ryougi-san, can’t you stop thinking about these things......”

Fujino was speechless, while Shizune blinked curiously.

”It’s strange, doesn’t this magic eye sound like a good thing? It can plunder vitality, like absorbing someone’s HP in a game? Why would it harm the host?”

”That’s probably because one can’t help but see themselves, after all, just lowering your head lets you see your body and hands, which counts as within sight and would be plundered as well......”

”This way, the magic eye seems powerful but also dangerous...... lucky that our eyes aren’t like that.”

With this remark, Shizune breathed a sigh of relief, her magic eyes were of the most ordinary kind, so they didn’t worry about such issues.

”Having an advanced magic eye isn’t a good thing.”

Fang Zheng ate a piece of ham, waving his knife and fork.

”If things go wrong, it might lead to being seal designated.”

”Seal designated? What’s that?”

”Simply put, it’s under the guise of ’protection,’ imprisoning individuals with special abilities. Of course, this isn’t as simple as confinement or house arrest. If you want an analogy...... think of it as being preserved in formaldehyde, like human specimens that can be passed down through generations.”

Saying this, Fang Zheng pointed at Asakami Fujino and Ryougi Shiki.

”Incidentally, if your magic eyes are discovered by the Clock Tower, they’ll be seal designated too.”

”Oh?”

Upon hearing this, Ryougi Shiki raised her eyebrows sharply.

”Let them try if they dare.”

”That’s too domineering, isn’t it?”

Fujino complained unhappily.

”We’re neither magicians nor affiliated with the Clock Tower, why would they trouble us?”

”Because the rare appearance of magic eyes is not considered personal property, but rather shared assets of the Mage’s Association...... that’s the belief of those fools. They think they can control everything in the world. So any rare items appearing in this world belong to them.”

”That’s too much!”

Upon hearing this, Seo Shizune voiced her opinion. After all, regardless, the magic eye was their own possession, being told to be preserved in formaldehyde like specimens by outsiders was intolerable, right?

”That’s why we need to destroy the Mage’s Association.”

Fang Zheng picked up another sandwich.

”To make those old folks understand that the times have changed.”

Regarding the girls’ conversation, Gray just obediently sat beside them, eating her food. From her standpoint, this was clearly not a topic for discussion.

However, not everyone would let her off so easily.

”Hey, what’s your take on this?”

As expected, Ryougi Shiki stared at Gray, asking her, making Gray jump in surprise.

”Um, excuse me, what are you referring to?”

”The sealing designation, you’re from the Clock Tower too, so you should know about the sealing designation, right?”

”I... I...”

Facing Ryougi Shiki’s questioning, Gray seemed a bit helpless.

”I’m not a magician...”

”Huh? But aren’t you that person’s disciple or something? That person is a Lord of the Clock Tower, right.”

”Yes, but... I’ve only been with my master for two months... and I’m not a magician...”

”Alright, alright, Ryougi-san.”

At this point, Asakami Fujino hurriedly came out to mediate.

”Look, you just scared her.”

”Yeah, yeah, it’s rare for everyone to sit together, let’s not talk about these unpleasant things...”

At this moment, Seo Shizune also hurriedly attempted to calm things down, but, as if to contradict her efforts, suddenly a voice sounded.

”What about the Rainbow Mystic Eyes?”

Hearing this voice, everyone turned around, only to see on the other side, a girl with silver-white hair standing up, arms crossed, glaring at the host.

It was Olga Marie Asmiret Animusphere.

”What are you referring to?”

”Didn’t you hear what I said?”

Olga Marie stared at the host calmly and said.

”Since this is the Magic Eye Collecting Train, it should house the legendary highest rank Rainbow Mystic Eyes, right? For example, the Eye of Direct Death emerging in the Far East.”

”Oh ho...?”

Hearing this, Ryougi Shiki dangerously squinted her eyes, as she was standing right there, yet someone wanted her eyes? Did they think she was nonexistent?

”Calm down, calm down, Ryougi-san!”

”Yeah, the other party is just a kid...”

At this moment, Shizune and Fujino were also terrified as they grabbed Ryougi Shiki tightly, fearing she might do something. However, Olga Marie seemed unaware she was dancing on the edge of danger as she continued to stare at the host, awaiting an answer. Actually, at this time, no one noticed in the corner the commotion among Ryougi Shiki and others because nearly all the magicians were captivated by Olga Marie’s mention of the Rainbow Mystic Eyes.

Nevertheless, faced with Olga Marie’s inquiry, the host paused briefly, then spoke.

”I regret that I’m unable to answer you under today’s circumstances.”

”.........”

Upon hearing this, all the magicians’ expressions changed. Because the host didn’t say ”there is none,” but rather ”under today’s circumstances,” indirectly admitting something...

”Hmph.”

Only then did Ryougi Shiki let out a cold snort and sit down. At the same time, Fujino and Shizune both sighed in relief. Fortunately, the host didn’t say ”yes” or ”will be auctioned,” otherwise, Ryougi Shiki might have erupted on the spot.

After finishing breakfast, most magicians stood up and left, heading to another carriage to view the Mystic Eyes, but Fujino and Shizune clearly had no interest in this. Just seeing so many eyeballs displayed in containers gave them a feeling that their own eyes might be dug out and placed there... that feeling was quite unsettling.

At this moment, Gray also obediently finished her breakfast and didn’t get up to leave, but as she looked at the girl beside her, Fang Zheng chuckled.

”So, why did you seek me out?”

”Ah?”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Gray was noticeably flustered, while Fang Zheng chuckled and waved.

”Alright, don’t be so alarmed. You came to see me, you must have something to ask, right? Tell me, what can I help with?”

”Yes, um...”

Upon hearing this, Gray seemed to muster courage and asked in a low voice.

”Um, I heard Miss Red Ponytail once participated in the Holy Grail War with my master...”

”Uh-huh, so what?”

”I... I want to know what happened then, regarding my master...”

”I see...”

Hearing Gray’s response, Fang Zheng nodded, and at this moment, Ryougi Shiki and Fujino cast curious glances.

”The Holy Grail War, that’s the ritual where seven historical figures are summoned to fight each other as mentioned earlier, we’d like to know too!”

”No problem.”

Fang Zheng chuckled and then casually picked up a piece of Wake Wood from the side and placed it on the table.

”Since that’s the case, let me tell you the story... As the saying goes about the momentum of the world, where what has been divided for a long time must be united, and what has been united for a long time must be divided. The struggle of the Seven States merging into Qin... Ahem, sorry for mixing up my lines.”

Fang Zheng coughed and again clapped the Wake Wood in her hand.

”Now, let’s start with the story of a man... a man with the most aspirations, yet also the most despair...”
