Chapter 1502: Chapter 1501: I Won’t Let You Die

”How could this happen?”

Katori was dumbfounded as she stared at the forty-meter-long lightsaber in front of her. She had never seen this sword behave this way in her hands!

How did it become so powerful just by changing owners? What’s going on here? Why is this happening?

In that moment, Katori suddenly felt as if a green hue appeared over her head...

”Hmm... I see.”

Fang Zheng didn’t care about Katori’s inner turmoil. Instead, he squinted his eyes, carefully examining the sword in his hand, then his expression darkened slightly.

As expected, just as Fang Zheng had suspected, this sword was no ordinary weapon.

To put it simply, the ability the sword possessed was—Undying Extermination!

To lay it bare, anyone pierced by this sword would die!

Of course, that’s obvious... Hitting someone on the back of the head with a brick might also kill them... It’s only expected that being cut by a sword would be fatal as well...

To specify more clearly, the moment one is pierced by this sword, they are subjected to a curse of ”death.” This might sound similar to the Eye of Direct Death at first glance, but it’s not the same. The Eye of Direct Death sees through the ”death” that all things in the world inevitably meet their end, whereas this sword directly attaches the concept of ”death” to the object being attacked.

No wonder those guys were able to kill the Star God.

As long as this sword could pierce the Star God, it would imprint the concept of ”death” on the target, forcing it into a state of death. From this perspective, it makes sense why humanity was able to kill the Star God.

However, can ordinary humans master this technology?

Though concept weapons like this aren’t exactly rare, having an effect on a Divine Spirit is a different league. Could the civilization of this world’s humans create something like this?

Fang Zheng pondered for a moment, then suddenly swung his hand, and the lightsaber quickly retracted, reverting to its original form.

”Amazing! Amazing!”

At this moment, Aetheria and Neflen also approached. Aetheria’s eyes sparkled as she gazed at Fang Zheng like a small puppy.

”Hey, how did you do that? Can we do the same?”

It’s no surprise that Aetheria would be so excited. Although Fang Zheng had merely transformed its form just now, as a Fairy Soldier who fought on the battlefield against beasts for many years, Aetheria was well aware of the power this transformation could bring. Not only is the attack range wider, but the lethality also increases. If their weapons had similar capabilities, they would naturally become more formidable.

”Of course, you can.”

Fang Zheng nodded, then handed the Holy Sword back to the complex-faced Katori.

”As long as you maintain your magic power to a certain extent and utilize spiritual resonance, you can activate it. Of course, every Holy Sword’s ability might differ slightly. The specific situation must be tailored to the individual.”

”Ah... I see...”

Upon hearing this, Aetheria displayed a disappointed expression.

”If that’s the case, it might be a bit difficult...”

”Why? Given your amount of Magic Power, releasing the Holy Sword shouldn’t be that hard, right?”

”That’s true, but it could lead to magic poisoning...”

”Magic poisoning?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng was taken aback.

”What’s that?”

”You don’t even know what magic poisoning is?”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s surprised expression, the three were also taken aback, and then Katori couldn’t help but explain.

”If magic power is burned for a long time or a large amount within a short period, the magic clots will gather in the muscles, making it difficult to eliminate fatigue, and it could even be fatal!”

”Is there such a thing?”

Hearing Katori’s explanation, Fang Zheng was stunned. It was the first time he had heard of such a condition.

”Let me have a look.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng reached out, placing his hand on Katori’s shoulder. Noticing Fang Zheng’s actions, Katori wanted to break away, but hesitated for a moment and said nothing.

”Hmm... Hmm?”

Feeling the aura within Katori’s body, Fang Zheng quickly discovered the issue.

”Don’t you regularly train with magic power?”

”Of course, if fatigue keeps accumulating, wouldn’t it be troublesome when it’s time to go on an expedition?”

”Haah...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng rolled his eyes; he finally understood why Katori and the others experienced this so-called magic poisoning.

Generally speaking, whether spellcasters or warriors use spiritual power, psionic energy, or magic power, they all need constant training and practice. This is the simplest way for their bodies to adapt to the flow of power. But Katori and the others are different. Perhaps due to a fundamental misconception, they don’t dare to engage in massive magic power training regularly.

It’s like participating in a sports meet; regular athletes would train hard daily to prepare for the official competition. But Katori and the others seemed more like they were avoiding daily training due to the childish fear of ”injury preventing participation,” only to push themselves to the limit during the actual match.

Such habits naturally prevented their bodies from adapting to the flow of magic power, resulting in symptoms like magic poisoning.

”Starting training now would be too late, right?”

After listening to Fang Zheng’s explanation, Aetheria had a helpless expression.

”Given that the next battle is only three days away.”

Indeed, another reason for the lack of training among the girls is because they constantly have to be ready to fight on the battlefield. Often, just as they have finally shaken off the fatigue from the previous battle, they must face the next conflict with beasts.

In such circumstances, there is no time available for training.

”From today onward, I’ll teach you meditation and how to wield magic power.”

Fang Zheng decisively decided.

”But three days later...”

”I will go to the battlefield with you in three days.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng reached out, patting Katori’s head.

”Don’t worry, I won’t let you die.”

In the end, the three of them decided to accept Fang Zheng’s guidance. As Golden Fairies, they were naturally endowed with the ability to manipulate magic power, but had abstained due to the caution against using it. Now, after receiving Fang Zheng’s tutelage, the three finally...

”Ah...!”

”Why are you making such a fuss?”

Fang Zheng, helplessly looking at Katori in front of him, couldn’t help but complain.

”I’m just adjusting your internal magic pathways; why are you making such a noise?”

”Because it feels... really uncomfortable... ah... it kinda hurts, and it’s a bit itchy as if inside my body... ugh... ah...!”

”If you scream again, I’ll have to find someone to gag you.”

Listening to Katori’s gasps, Fang Zheng’s face turned pale. Luckily, Nigolan and the others were there, or he’d have a hard time explaining himself.

”Hahaha, I never expected Katori to make that sound.”

Sitting in a chair nearby, a tall woman with waist-length hair laughed as she looked at Katori. She was Nigolan, another manager of this Fairy Warehouse and a member of the Cannibal Tribe. Judging by appearance alone, the maid-outfitted Nigolan was undoubtedly a beauty.

Of course, that’s if you overlook her height.

Nigolan’s height was only slightly shorter than Fang Zheng, reaching a full 1.8 meters.

Plus those sharp teeth—on Fang Zheng’s first day at the Fairy Warehouse, Nigolan smiled and said, ”Can I take a bite of the legendary human flesh? Just a finger would be fine.”

And yet she almost cracked a tooth but couldn’t break Fang Zheng’s skin.

”Ah....... ah......”

As Fang Zheng moved, Katori’s voice grew increasingly intense, however......

”Enough already!”

”I can’t, this feeling is so weird, save me ahhhh!!!”

In the end, accompanied by a series of screams, Katori collapsed on the bed like sludge, panting heavily, looking as if she’d just been pulled out of the water.

”Seriously, that exaggerated?”

Thinking this, Fang Zheng shook his head, then opened his personal terminal and took a picture of Katori, saving it in a folder. He then looked at the other two standing nearby.

”So, who’s next?”

”Eh? Um...... I think I need to think about it......”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Aetheria’s expression became a bit complex.

”Are you sure it’s just an adjustment? Little brother? Why do I feel like I’m never going to get married?”

”So you’ve already decided to get married? Who’s the lucky guy?”

”No, I’m just saying, you need to consider the heart of a young girl!”

”I’ll go.”

While Aetheria protested, Neflen quietly walked over and obediently sat in front of Fang Zheng.

”Alright, um...... I don’t think it will be that exaggerated, best not to scream.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng placed his hand on Neflen’s back.

Next moment......

”Mm..........”

”................”

What could Fang Zheng say about this?

He could only continue.

”Phew..........”

By the time everything was finished, it was already late at night.

Fang Zheng lazily lounged on the sofa, flipping through the literature in his hand and sighing.

Originally, he thought Neflen’s situation would be better than Katori’s but it turned out worse. Although the little girl indeed didn’t cry out loud from beginning to end, she kept ”mmmm” humming with emotion, which was almost uncontrollable for Fang Zheng to listen to.

By contrast, Aetheria’s ”hahaha,” ”help me,” ”I’m going to die” screams during adjustment seemed more normal—at least compared to the previous two.

Otherwise, Fang Zheng wouldn’t know how to explain it to the other little ones.

”Knock knock.”

At that moment, a knock on the door echoed, followed by the door opening, Fang Zheng raised his head and looked toward the entrance. Neflen walked in, holding a tray.

”Neflen? What’s the matter?”

”.............”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Neflen silently raised the two cups of coffee on her tray.

The aromatic coffee scent wafted through, dispelling some of the gloom caused by combing through investigation documents.

”Hmm...... nice taste.”

After drinking the coffee in his cup, Fang Zheng nodded in satisfaction. Yet, at this moment, Neflen suddenly spoke.

”Neflen.”

”Hm?”

”Just call me Neflen.”

”Alright then...... Neflen, aren’t you going to sleep? You should rest well after the adjustment.”

”Already rested before.”

Neflen continued with her expressionless reply.

”What are you doing?”

”I’m searching for some records about Star God.”

Fang Zheng shook the document in his hand.

”Just investigating something.”

”Is that so...........”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s answer, Neflen paused for a moment and then spoke again.

”Before...... when you said you wouldn’t let us die, what did you mean?”

”Just as it sounds, I’ll protect you all.”

”I don’t understand.”

Yet, Neflen shook her head.

”We are Golden Fairies, weapons; why would you want to protect us?”

”That’s just how people in this world view you, not mine. To me, you’re just a group of diverse, beautiful, and lovely girls. More importantly......”

Saying this, Fang Zheng pointed at himself.

”I came here, so you no longer need to sacrifice your lives. You may have had to fight before but now, you can rest a little while and think about your future.”

”Why are you doing this?”

”It’s my mission, saving this world is my job......”

”Job?”

”Yes, it’s a bit complicated, but my goal is to eliminate these beasts and restore safety to this world. As for why protecting you...... hmm, let’s say you remind me of some kids I encountered in another world, so I want to help you too.”

”Is that so...........”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s reply, Neflen paused briefly.

”Anything I can do to help?”

”Now? Hmm...... I’m looking for information about Star God and Seventeen Beasts.”

”No problem.”

Hearing this, Neflen gave a thumbs up without expression.

”Leave it to me.”
