Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1536: Chapter 1534: Fiore’s Magic Classroom (The Weather’s Cool, It’s Raining)

For the students of Liyuan, what’s coming after a short vacation is a long period of study.

This hasn’t changed even now.

But........

”It’s so boring...”

Watching the uniformed girls coming and going outside the window, Kurotou Hana stretched lazily and then slumped onto the desk.

”If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn’t have gone home during the break. It was even more boring there...”

”If that’s the case, why not just stay here?”

”How could I possibly let you and my brother spend the summer vacation alone together!?”

Upon hearing the voice from beside her, Hana jumped up instantly, glaring unpleasantly at the other girl sitting next to her. She had shoulder-length black hair, and her whole demeanor was filled with a certain neutral, spirited vibe. She was quite popular at Liyuan.

But for Kurotou Hana, she was really the most irritating person around.

”Listen up, Ryougi! As long as my eyes aren’t rolling back, I absolutely won’t allow you to secretly approach my brother!”

”Who’s sneaking around? You make it sound awful.”

Hearing this, the black-haired girl—Ryougi Shiki—also showed a touch of displeasure.

”It’s your brother who clings to me. I find him really annoying.”

”What? How dare you say my brother is annoying?”

”What exactly are you trying to do?”

”Alright, alright......”

Seeing the two about to argue, the girl sitting between them hurriedly smiled and tried to calm them.

”It’s a rare new term; shouldn’t everyone be happier? Right......Akiha?”

”Ah, um......”

Upon hearing these words, Toyono Akiha nodded, and the girl who just tried to mediate the argument—Seo Shizune—deliberately turned to her to change the subject.

”By the way, I heard from Fiore-sensei that during the vacation, you faced off against a Dead Apostle in Misaki Town and even defeated it?”

”Eh? Really? Akiha?”

”Toyono-san, you’ve met a Dead Apostle?”

Sure enough, as soon as Seo Shizune said this, other students in the classroom also turned their heads to look at Akiha. Seeing this scene, Akiha smiled wryly and waved her hand quickly.

”I did meet one, but I’m not that powerful. I used all my strength to deal with one of the Dead Apostle’s familiars......and I’d say my luck was pretty good.”

Indeed, the students in this classroom are not ordinary; they are Fiore’s students—spellcaster apprentices.

Besides Toyono Akiha and Kurotou Hana, there are several other students in this classroom.

The one arguing with Kurotou Hana earlier is Ryougi Shiki—a Transmutation apprentice—and the one who mediated the argument, Seo Shizune, is a Prophecy System apprentice.

Additionally, the enthusiastic question was posed by a lively girl with short red hair named Wujing Jade, who is an Enchantment apprentice.

”But defeating a familiar is still impressive, right? Don’t you think so, sister?”

As she spoke, Jade cheerfully grabbed the sleeve of her identical-looking sister beside her and asked, to which the girl paused for a moment before nodding.

”Yes, very impressive......”

Compared to lively Jade, the girl before them seemed more introverted and quiet. She was Jade’s sister, Wujing Amber, studying Transmutation spells like Ryougi Shiki. Their sibling pair was the only ones in the class studying Alchemy; however, Amber was more adept at pharmaceuticals, while her sister was more interested in crafting constructs.

”Actually, most of the time I was just watching the excitement. It was mainly thanks to Miss Red Ponytail.”

”The Red Ponytail you mentioned, is she the person Kurotou-san talked about before?”

This time, the question came from another girl sitting beside Akiha. She had waist-length black hair and mesmerizing deep purple eyes.

”Speaking of which, I may have met that lady once.”

”Eh? Really, Fujino?”

”Hmm......”

Akiha’s neighbor—the Protection Class apprentice Asakami Fujino—nodded.

”That was when I first came to this school and went shopping in town. Suddenly, a scary-looking guy blocked me and asked some very strange questions. I was really scared and didn’t know what to do. Although I wanted to seek help, it seemed like the surrounding people didn’t even see us......right then, a girl suddenly rushed over and kicked that scary man away......she was petite, very cute, and had long red ponytails......also, her speaking tone resembled a boy’s, but it wasn’t strange at all; rather, it seemed quite interesting.”

”Ah, that’s definitely Little Hong.”

”Yes, it’s Miss Little Red.”

Hearing Asakami Fujino’s description, Kurotou Hana and Toyono Akiha nodded.

”But, who exactly is that Miss Red Ponytail?”

The question was then posed by another student, a Summon apprentice named Tohsaka Sakura.

”She doesn’t seem to be a student here.”

”We’re not too sure either, but judging by her appearance, she seems to have a good relationship with Fiore-sensei......”

”It’s more than just ’not bad,’ she actually called Fiore by name, maybe Fiore and she are in a superior-subordinate relationship?”

Gossip is something every girl loves, and the girls here are no exception. Unlike ordinary magicians, they were all individually chosen by Fiore according to the list Fang Zheng provided. For many of them, Fiore is a teacher and also a friend.

Just like Wujing Amber and Wujing Jade, since the two were considered as calamities due to their birth, they were about to be abandoned. It was when Fiore appeared and took them away under the name of the World Tree of a Thousand Realms; the same goes for Tohsaka Sakura. Her father, Tohsaka Toki, died in the previous Subspecies Holy Grail War, and with the Tohsaka Family lacking a head, they were also being raided by others seeking profit. Fiore and the World Tree of a Thousand Realms appeared to protect Tohsaka Sakura.

As for Asakami Fujino and Ryougi Shiki, their reasons are somewhat different. Asakami Fujino needs training to control her magic eyes due to physical reasons, while as for Ryougi Shiki...

”I really envy you guys, when will I get to go out and fight too?”

Playing idly with the utility knife in her hand, Ryougi Shiki couldn’t help but complain. Her experiences didn’t differ much from those in the anime. Previously, she possessed two personalities, Shiki and Weaving, and later fell into a near-death situation due to the plot by Araya Souren. When she awoke again, Weaving disappeared into the Origin, and she gained the Direct Death magic eyes.

But unlike the anime, since Araya Souren was slapped to death by Fang Zheng when passing by, Ryougi Shiki didn’t encounter any trouble. She accepted Fiore’s invitation to attend Linglong Hall because Fiore promised to teach her how and when to use her magic eyes.

Indeed, the one most eager for battle in the classroom is Ryougi Shiki.

Now Kurotou Hana and Toyono Akiha have both encountered enemies from the other side of the world, while Shiki remains idle.

”With that lazy attitude of yours, maybe in your next life.”

Looking at Ryougi Shiki’s bored expression, Hana couldn’t help but feel irritated.

”And you’re complaining? Have you finished the assignments Fiore gave you?”

”Of course I’ve finished them, don’t judge by appearances, I’ve done them well!”

”Really? Then show me!”

”Why should I show you? Do you think you’re the class president?”

”I am the class president!”

By the way, the vice president is Tohsaka Sakura.

Watching the two argue again, the others exchanged helpless smiles. For them, this was daily life. As for the disagreement between these two, the reason was simple: Kurotou Hana’s brother, Kurotou Mikiya.

Of course, the reason for the change was right at the beginning of the school year. At that time, Hana bragged about how handsome, charming, gentle, and caring her brother was in front of everyone. But after school, as everyone reached the school gate, they were surprised to see Kurotou Hana’s brother opposite them.

Hana was overjoyed, thinking her brother had come to pick her up. As she cheerfully ran towards her brother, she saw Kurotou Mikiya excitedly approaching, and then... passed by Hana directly, rushing to Ryougi Shiki who was watching the fun from afar.

”Shiki, I finally found you!”

”......”

The scene was very awkward.

Since then, Hana started to dislike Ryougi Shiki more and more... Well, everyone could understand...

”Honestly.”

Watching the scene unfold, Misaya at the corner sighed helplessly.

”How childish to still be arguing like kids at this age...”

”Fujo sensei is here!!”

Fortunately, with Nanaya Shiki’s words at the door, Hana and Shiki’s argument was smoothly interrupted. Quickly, the girls returned to their seats, picked up their books, seemingly ready to face a teacher in any world the same way.

Swiftly, the classroom door opened, and a woman with long hair walked in. She stood at the door and glanced around the room, and upon feeling her gaze, the girls couldn’t help feeling uneasy. Understandably, although she wasn’t their magic teacher like Fiore, she was the one responsible for their daily management. If any student broke the rules, she would report them to Fiore... Truly an intimidating overseer.

”Ryougi.”

”What’s up?”

”There’s a letter for you.”

”For me?”

Upon hearing this, Shiki stood and walked to Fujo Kirie, taking the letter.

”This is...”

”It must be a letter from my brother!”

Hana couldn’t sit still either and quickly ran to Shiki’s side to peer over.

It was a pitch-black letter, with crystal-like paper sealed with scarlet wax, featuring a stamp themed with wheels and eyes. Curious, Shiki opened the letter and began to frown while reading its contents.

”Dear... We are very interested in your magic eyes; we must ask you to go to any lengths... to give us your magic eyes, and we promise to find a suitable host for them...”

”What kind of nonsense is this.”

Looking at the letter, Hana also couldn’t help but complain. The letter’s main content seemed to be an invitation, asking Shiki to attend a banquet where her magic eyes were required... But the content sounded so strange; who would willingly give up their eyes!

The signature was ”Magic Eye Collecting Train. Acting Manager.”

”What do you think, Shiki?”

After reading the letter, Hana looked at Shiki, who shook her head.

”I don’t know who they are, but I surely won’t give these eyes to anyone else easily.”

”I thought as much... In any case, we should first show this letter to Fiore.”
