Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1515: Chapter 1513: I’m Taking the Plunge!

Speaking of the divine position Fang Zheng most wants to obtain, well, being the God of Games is definitely at the top! As a game planner, if he could become a god... hahaha, that would be the greatest dream ever!

Of course, Fang Zheng knew that this task wasn’t simple. The requirement was a game capable of changing the world, or in other words, using a game to change the world. The emergence of this task was definitely not because of Dark Soul, but more likely due to Game King and Pokémon—after all, the former was the one that thoroughly integrated AR technology into people’s lives and altered the lifestyle of humans in this world.

At first glance, it seems simple, but in fact, it’s very difficult. Games rely on technology, but the development of technology and games don’t necessarily go hand in hand. Moreover, the impact will vary depending on each world.

Of course, the simplest method would be to directly transplant VR and AR technologies to other worlds since these two technologies are game-centric and can completely transform a world. However, Fang Zheng tried it and found it wasn’t that simple. The task specifically states ”rely on the existing technology of this world,” so Fang Zheng couldn’t directly transplant high technology from other worlds. He either had to climb the tech tree again in a new world or rely on existing resources to change the world.

However, upon closely examining the worlds currently available to Fang Zheng, he found it really troublesome.

In the Free World currently accessible to Fang Zheng, the World of the Immortal Sword doesn’t need consideration; it has the lowest technological content, and using a game to change the world is too difficult. In the Fire Mist World, he needs to climb the tech tree. Type Moon World is even more impossible unless Fang Zheng turns the Holy Grail War into a public game; otherwise, climbing the tech tree would take even longer than in the Fire Mist World.

The problem with the Mech World is that whether it’s Mass Effect or Gundam, their technology is too advanced. Things like 3D virtual projection VR technology are already commonplace, so trying to innovate in such a context is challenging, not to mention changing the world.

Conversely, in the Magical Girl world, although there is a lot of high technology, there aren’t particularly good games, so Fang Zheng decided to start from there. Of course, exactly what kind of game to make... he still needs to think about it.

If only I had acquired a game company in the World of Love back then!

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng could only hold his head in regret. At that time, considering how time-consuming it was to get into such things in that world, he chose to give up. Looking back, it would’ve been better to just start it! Judging by the days Fang Zheng stayed in that world, he found that the World of Love was also entertainment-oriented, so making some rhythm game or something like MIKU could’ve been a huge hit!

Unfortunately, it was too late to regret it now.

Strictly speaking, Fang Zheng also knew that the task this system issued was another pit, but the carrot was too tempting. Even knowing it was a trap, Fang Zheng was determined to jump in!

If he didn’t jump, would he still be human?

Now the question is, from which world to start... Oh, right!

With this thought, Fang Zheng’s eyes suddenly brightened, then he immediately opened his personal terminal and contacted the Little Angel.

”Nymph!”

”Yes, Master, is there anything you need?”

”Has the new world’s ecological survey data come out?”

”Yes, would you like to see it?”

”Bring it to me.”

”Okay.”

Nymph was quick, and before long, Fang Zheng had a report on the new world’s ecological environment.

”Hmm... seems a bit interesting...”

Looking at the report before him, Fang Zheng squinted his eyes. After Katori and their world was transformed into the new world, various situations emerged. Perhaps due to being catalyzed by Aluco’s Divine Power, the species in this new world were not quite like normal species.

Besides the rabbits and the Old Eagle Fang Zheng saw previously, there were many mutated species, such as Unicorns, Griffins, and some odd-looking butterflies and other creatures... In summary, the report noted that most species weren’t aggressive, had intelligence similar to ordinary beasts, and posed low risk.

Moreover, perhaps influenced by Aluco’s own consciousness, most of these animals were quite cute.

”Hmm...”

Looking at the data, Fang Zheng nodded and then clapped his hands again.

”Nymph, I have a task for you.”

”What task, Master?”

”You know the game Pokémon, right?”

”Of course.”

After all, Nymph had contributed to the AR glasses, so she knew the game effect well.

”Next, I want to develop a kind of... um, how to say... contract? Tool? In any case, it should be something anyone can use. As for the specific effect...”

Fang Zheng tapped his finger on the table, carefully recalling the animations, games, comics, and novels he had seen before...

”How about this: create something that allows communication with these animals, enabling both parties to form a contract. After forming a contract, these animals could stay by the owner’s side in chibi form. The contract itself shouldn’t be compulsory and must require mutual consent... Yes, that’s it. During combat, they can revert to their original form.”

”Then, are there any conditions needed?”

”Conditions... add rules in the contract to inform those animals that signing a contract with the user can make them stronger, but the price is fighting alongside the user! Yes, just like that! As for the power aspect, let the user provide it. Hmm... don’t use Vitality, Psionic, or Magic Power, though.”

Fang Zheng clapped his hands, applauding his own idea. He just realized that in any world he previously owned, transforming it wasn’t easy.

But the new world he just acquired was different! It’s currently just a typical ecosystem without even a civilization. In this case, if he could implement a ”game setting” similar to Pokémon, wouldn’t that equate to ”changing the world”?

It not only fulfills the task requirement but also equips those little guys with pets—the little girls of the Heavenly Dao Palace have been clamoring for pets for so long, it’s time to grant their wish!

Two birds with one stone, problem solved, how great!

”Also, I hope you can create a crystal that enables these animals to evolve, based on their Physical Quality. Specifically... you can refer to the upgrade system of the Four Sacred Heroes. I plan to host a competition after all this, with the top ten getting crystals to evolve their Little Fairy... Hmm, for now, that’s it.”

Fang Zheng didn’t think about how to specifically implement it, after all, he is a planner. Planning responsibilities involve ensuring effects without dealing with processes. He firmly believes that the omnipotent Little Angel can absolutely handle this!

”Understood, Master, leave it to me.”

Little Angel was clearly accustomed to Fang Zheng’s whimsical ideas, so she merely nodded and hung up the communication to go about her tasks. At this point, Fang Zheng raised his arms and had a good stretch.

Hmm... there’s nothing to do for now... I’ve had enough of watching the streamer suffer, maybe I’ll take a walk outside.

With this thought, Fang Zheng stood up and walked out of the room.

Aki Tomoya had been in a bad mood lately.

He initially thought that once Eiriri returned, things would go back to how they were. But to his surprise, Eiriri had gotten a boyfriend! Because of this, Aki Tomoya hadn’t seen much of Eiriri these days, and whenever he called, the conversations were brief before they hung up.

This left Aki Tomoya feeling somewhat dejected, but that wasn’t the only issue.

During college, Aki Tomoya joined the game club and was planning to develop a game. He originally wanted to contact Eiriri, but she was out. Left with no choice, Aki Tomoya decided to call Shiyu of Misty Hill.

”Beep... beep... click.”

The phone rang for a while before the call was connected, and Shiyu of Misty Hill’s voice came through.

”Ha... ha... Ethics-kun, what do you want from me?”

”Senpai Shihane, um...”

At this point, Aki Tomoya paused.

”What are you doing?”

”Me? Hmm... I’m... running...”

”Running?”

Aki Tomoya looked out the window, where the night had already fallen long ago.

”It’s already 11 PM.”

”Night running... it’s kind of trendy these days... ha... ha... I heard it’s supposed to be good for your health... ah...!”

Shiyu of Misty Hill’s voice on the phone grew more labored, and she even let out an exclamation at the end.

”Are you alright, Senpai Shihane?”

Aki Tomoya couldn’t help but become tense upon hearing that, while Shiyu of Misty Hill on the other end took a deep breath.

”No, it’s nothing, I just almost tripped... ah... hmm...”

”Are you sure? You sound like you’re having a hard time...”

”I just... hm... twisted a bit, it’s nothing... ah... major...”

”I see...”

”So, Ethics... kun, what did you want to talk about?”

”No, um... Senpai Shihane, you should continue your exercise. Let’s talk tomorrow...”

”Alright, I’ll hang up now.”

With that, Shiyu of Misty Hill hung up decisively. Aki Tomoya couldn’t help but feel like he’d heard a faint, rapid call before the line disconnected...

It was probably just an illusion.

Thinking this, Aki Tomoya was silent for a moment before picking up his phone again and calling Kato Megumi.

Soon, a mechanical voice message came through.

”Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently switched off. Please try again later...”

One night passed.

The morning sunlight streamed through the window into the room. Fang Zheng got up, got dressed, and looked back. On the big bed behind him, Eiriri and Shihane were still sound asleep under the covers, their faces filled with happiness. It was clear they had had a delightful and blissful night.

However...

Although Eiriri claimed she didn’t get along with Shiyu of Misty Hill, they seemed to be quite coordinated.

With this thought, Fang Zheng smiled and turned to leave the room.

Just then, his personal terminal chimed with a notification, and Nymph’s voice appeared in Fang Zheng’s ear.

”Reporting, Master, it’s completed.”

”So quickly?”

Upon hearing Nymph’s report, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but feel a stir of excitement.

”I’m heading back now!”
