Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1495: Chapter 1494: The First Step Toward the Star Sea

”How is the current progress?”

Standing by the porthole, staring at the metal structures outside, Fang Zheng asked. Accompanying his question, Iona behind him immediately responded.

”The current construction progress of the star gate is at thirty-five percent, it will take a little more time.”

”Take it slow, we need to stabilize the internal order of the cluster first.”

The Alfalfa Cluster is quite far from other clusters. If each cluster is considered a piece of land, then the Alfalfa Cluster is like an island surrounded by the ocean. Presently, one of Fang Zheng’s biggest issues is that he doesn’t have advanced teleportation technology to cross this ocean.

According to the Goddess of Order, the original goddess didn’t have similar teleportation gates because the Order Clan is born with the ability to directly teleport to any order location. So, even crossing a star system is a matter of a single thought to the goddess. However, Fang Zheng’s fleet clearly lacks this ability. Although the Titans and the Ark of Star Spirits possess similar projection and teleportation abilities, recklessly projecting into an unknown star domain is quite dangerous.

Fortunately, Fang Zheng still has the interstellar highway technology and mass effect generator technology acquired from the Forerunners of the Aura and the Pioneers of Mass Effect. After integrating it with Synapsus technology through the Little Angel, the construction of the star gate can commence. With the star gate, a solid bridge can be erected between the Alfalfa Cluster and other clusters—like a bridge crossing the sea.

Fang Zheng’s current plan is to first repair the defenses within the Alfalfa Cluster. The cluster contains eighteen stars internally, among which the Goddess of Order built order protection barrier screens on four stars. Due to years of neglect, these barrier systems are mostly in a state of paralysis or semi-paralysis.

This means... Fang Zheng is going to be drained again.

Now Fang Zheng only hopes he can endure it.

After all, he burned a world before and acquired quite a lot of firewood, so it should be enough to sustain... right?

”Iona, is the First Fleet ready?”

”Ready to move at any time, Commander.”

”Good.”

Upon hearing Iona’s words, Fang Zheng nodded.

”Next, we should welcome the last batch of guests.”

At this moment, Mary stood on the airfield of the Heavenly Dao Palace, looking around in surprise.

Not long ago, she received a command from her eccentric mentor saying that Mary had been chosen to participate in an upcoming action. As for what action, the mentor did not elaborate further, only instructing her to bring along some colleagues from the School of Transmutations.

”Mary, what exactly are we here to do?”

Beside Mary stood a Transmutation Mage who was visiting the Heavenly Dao Palace for the first time, curiously looking around. For someone who lived outside, everything before her seemed like a dream, filled with things she had never imagined.

”I don’t know... Delian, what do you think?”

Mary shook her head, then looked at the Young Lady from the School of Illusions beside her. The Young Lady merely adjusted her hair.

”I don’t know either. The mentor is being mysterious and won’t tell me anything, but it must be important... Look over there...”

Saying this, Delian pouted towards the side, and Mary followed her gaze to see hundreds of armored knights, along with dozens of priests and clerics.

”Is that... the Sanctuary Church?”

”Yes, not only them, the elves and dwarves are here too...”

Indeed, besides the representatives of the Sanctuary Church, Mary also spotted traces of elves and dwarves. The elves quietly stood under the shade without saying a word, while the dwarves curiously looked around, talking loudly. Nearby, a group of gnomes gathered around a three-dimensional image, chattering about something.

”This reminds me of the Order Council.”

Mary couldn’t help but sigh; almost every race in the Order Council was represented here. Of course, not every country was present. For example, Mary noticed the representatives from the Land of Wealth were absent... well, she didn’t like those money-grubbing folks anyway.

As for the Kingdom of Flame... well, that’s ancient history now.

”Ah, teacher!”

At this moment, one of Mary’s students ran over.

”Hello, is there something you need?”

Mary smiled and greeted her student, who nodded in return.

”Yes, Lady Tilia ordered me to lead everyone to berth number three... ah, please wait a moment...”

As she spoke, the young girl respectfully bowed to Mary, then led her companions toward the others. Soon, everyone received the notification and gathered behind Mary—like a travel group about to depart.

”Please follow me.”

Holding a small triangular yellow flag, the leading Cursed Child guided everyone towards berth number three.

”Honestly, if it weren’t for coordinating with these folks, we could just send out an announcement.”

Delian complained unhappily beside Mary, who nodded in agreement. In the Heavenly Dao Palace, she was already accustomed to the local lifestyle. Generally, if there’s something to announce or a place to gather, they would just send out an announcement through personal terminals. Apart from some large conference settings, most communications could be done this way.

This is much more convenient than outside.

Unfortunately, these people don’t have personal terminals, so Fang Zheng had to send someone to pick them up; otherwise, in such a large port, without guidance, they could easily get lost.

Soon, under the guidance of the little girl at the lead, the group arrived at berth number three, where a giant steel warship had been quietly waiting.

”We are taking the warship? Where are we going?”

Seeing this warship, Delian immediately became excited. Although they had enjoyed many conveniences at the Heavenly Dao Palace, the warship was definitely not among them. After all, the Mind Model and Azure Fleet were considered the highest security forces at the Heavenly Dao Palace, and they were here merely for diplomacy and communication. Apart from the initial journey to the Heavenly Dao Palace, they hadn’t been on one again.

But this time was clearly different.

”Could we be going to war?”

Mary couldn’t help but feel tense, but Delian appeared very calm.

”A war requires a lot of people, it won’t just be us few.”

”That’s true...”

Upon hearing Delian’s answer, Mary sighed in relief. From the scale, these people looked more like a delegation rather than those going to battle.

Soon, the group settled into the warship’s front cabin, and with a soft sound and a slight jolt, the closed steel walls slowly opened to reveal the scenery before them. Seeing this, many rushed to the window to gaze outside. The warship soon began to move, slowly leaving the berth and heading towards the sky.

”Such fast speed...”

”Look, I recognize that continent; over there is the Kingdom of the Holy Church... My heavens, the Holy Capital looks so small from the sky...”

Standing by the window, gazing at the shrinking scene below, both the Elves and the Knights and Clerics from the Kingdom of the Holy Church were extremely excited. Even the Gnomes were quite thrilled, chattering excitedly beside them. In contrast, the Dwarves wiped away their prior excitement and sat nervously, huddled together, not even daring to glance down.

After all, this was almost turning the Dwarves’ nightmare into reality—they had always refused to leave their caves, fearing that they would fall into the sky while standing on the ground. Now, this scenario had clearly become a reality...

Initially, everyone was merely sighing, but soon their voices turned into amazement.

”Goddess of Order above, what am I seeing?!”

”Is this our world? Our world is... a sphere?”

At that moment, the warship had exited the atmosphere, revealing the planet’s true appearance to everyone.

At that moment, almost everyone was stunned.

Even Mary and Delian were no exceptions.

Although they had watched similar science fiction movies several times at the Heavenly Dao Palace, at that time, Mary and Delian hadn’t connected it all to their own world.

But now, they witnessed the truth of their world firsthand in the most indisputable way.

If Mary, Delian, and several colleagues were somewhat prepared for seeing similar movies at the Heavenly Dao Palace, the others looking at this scene were completely dumbfounded.

”I can hardly believe my eyes; we live on a sphere? Why don’t we fall off?”

”Because... gravity.”

Hearing the bewilderment of the young girl beside her, Mary responded, as she knew at least a bit about the principle from watching so many science fiction movies.

”Gravity? Mary, do you mean Gravity Magic? But... how is that possible? What kind of being could release such a range of magic to affect the whole world with Gravity Magic?”

”This...”

Hearing this, Mary fell silent. She only knew from movies that humans stand on the ground due to gravity, and that spaceships in movies could simulate gravity through constant rotation. But as for the specific principle... Mary wasn’t really knowledgeable.

”Indeed, this is all the protection of the Goddess of Order...”

The Cleric beside her clearly had simpler thoughts, immediately clasping her hands to her chest and praising the Goddess of Order devoutly upon hearing Mary’s explanation.

Apparently, compared to Mages, Clerics were more inclined to view this as the Goddess of Order’s blessing; otherwise, how could humans live on a sphere?

”Look, that’s the Sapphire River!!”

”Celestial Mountains! My heavens, they stretch all the way to the edge of the earth!”

More and more people were excitedly leaning against the window, starting to locate familiar scenes. They had never thought one day they could observe their once lived world from such an angle. This filled them with immense awe, especially when they realized their lived city was so tiny on this land and the people within it were almost like grains of sand—a kind of indescribable shiver, fear, and excitement nearly enveloped everyone.

Only the Dwarves continued huddling together trembling—for those who had always lived in caves, the outside world was terrifying!

They still preferred the place with firm ground above their heads!

The spaceship took the group for a circle around the entire planet, then flew towards the distance, soon presenting a new presence to them.

”Look!”

As the spaceship turned again, they were surprised to discover a giant steel fortress not far from their planet, constantly shimmering with radiance.

That was the bridgehead for exploring the Star Sea—Star City.
