Chapter 1461: Chapter 1460: Get Back Where You

The battle was nearing its end.

”Ha ah!”

With a single slash, the undead soldier before him shattered. RIDER held his sword, looking around with determination. The warriors still following him were now less than one in ten.

RIDER had fought many battles in his life and was no stranger to danger. Yet, he had never seen a battlefield like this before.

The undead seemed endless, with no end in sight. No matter how many he killed, more would emerge.

The Scourge Legion lived up to its name.

One could not even tell which era this army was from.

RIDER was certain that even in his lifetime, he had never heard of such a fearsome legion. If such an Undead Legion had existed, his conquests might have been cut short long ago. Perhaps this was a creature of the mythical age?

If that were the case, at least he had not fought in vain.

With this thought, RIDER smiled again and looked ahead.

At this moment, the Undead Legion parted in the distance, and on the other side, RIDER could clearly see the red ponytail fluttering in the wind.

”I really wonder what kind of person you are, little lady...”

He sighed, gazing at the petite figure. Then twice over, he tightened his grip on the weapon, his expression resolute.

No matter what, he was the Conqueror King. Even in death, he would die on the path of conquest!

”Hyah!!”

Suddenly, with a tug on the reins, RIDER spurred his horse into a gallop. In front of him, Fang Zheng silently raised his hands. In a flash, the burning Flame Blade and the cold Frost Blade appeared in his hands simultaneously.

”Hah—————!!”

In the blink of an eye, RIDER reached Fang Zheng, raising his sword and striking down forcefully.

Facing the descending blade, Fang Zheng swung his left hand. Frostmourne sliced through the air with a gleam. With a clang, RIDER’s body trembled and then collapsed.

The next moment, a crimson greatsword thrust forward.

Their figures crossed paths, leaving a streak of blood. Fang Zheng stood still, while RIDER rode onward a short distance. Finally, his horse came to a slow halt.

”Interesting...”

Gazing at the sky, RIDER grinned. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

”I hope we get another chance for such a thrilling expedition...”

”Given the chance.”

Fang Zheng replied without turning back, then she flicked the blood from the greatsword. In an instant, the sealing shattered and vanished. In the blink of an eye, the frozen wilderness reverted to the bridge in Fuyuki City.

However, at this moment, only Fang Zheng remained on the bridge.

Oh, and the two corpses by the riverbank.

This... should be left for the rats of the Sanctuary Church to handle.

Fang Zheng glanced at the two unseeing corpses, then turned and left.

The real play had only just begun.

At this moment, in the back mountains of Ryudou Temple, Emiya Kiritsugu, Irisviel, and Kuon Mamiya were quietly walking, advancing stealthily.

”Kiritsugu...”

”I know.”

Emiya Kiritsugu glanced at the missing Command Seal on his hand, his voice very calm.

SABER had failed.

This result was not unexpected for Emiya Kiritsugu. The reason for having SABER and RIDER join forces was merely to take a gamble. However, Emiya Kiritsugu never thought the success rate would be high. Of course, winning would have been ideal, but losing... was not unbearable.

But this was never Emiya Kiritsugu’s primary plan.

He had his own ideas.

Emiya Kiritsugu was no fool. In fact, the reason he came here was due to something Fang Zheng had said earlier.

That was to summon the Holy Grail and cut it down with the Greater Holy Grail.

Logically, upon the Servant’s death, it should be absorbed into Irisviel, the Little Holy Grail. But according to Irisviel, she had not felt any Heroic Spirit being absorbed thus far. This suggested that the opponent had another way to handle the issue. But regardless, it was impossible to bypass the Greater Holy Grail.

Thus, Emiya Kiritsugu finally decided to directly head to the Greater Holy Grail at Ryudou Temple’s back mountain to uncover the truth.

In fact, he left SABER behind more to divert the opponent’s attention.

The spell disguising the real path was easily dispelled, and the three of them soon arrived at a massive cave entrance.

”Is this the place, Ellie?”

Looking at the pitch-black cave, Emiya Kiritsugu gripped his gun tightly and asked in a low voice. Irisviel, with a serious expression, looked at the cave entrance and nodded.

”Yes, according to grandfather’s words, this is it.”

”Maiya.”

Kiritsugu said no more, giving a look to his partner. Kuon Mamiya, holding an assault rifle, took the lead, followed by Emiya Kiritsugu, while Irisviel brought up the rear.

Along the way, there were no traps or ambushes, which made Emiya Kiritsugu, originally expecting a sniper attack, quite surprised. But even so, he remained vigilant.

Until the three walked out of the passage and came to the Great Hollow below, they were stunned by the scene before them.

On the high platform in the center of the hollow, there was a cup emitting a golden radiance. Without any need for words, Emiya Kiritsugu could tell at a glance that it was the Holy Grail. And on the stone below the platform, Illya was sitting there, humming a song and idly swinging her legs.

Seeing Emiya Kiritsugu and his group appear, Illya was clearly a bit surprised, but the next moment she grasped the Magic Wand in her hand and stood up.

”MASTER said Dad wouldn’t give up so easily, and I didn’t believe it... Now it seems it’s true... I’m doomed; I’ve lost the bet with MASTER this time...”

”Uh...”

Looking at Illya before them, Emiya Kiritsugu and Irisviel were at a loss for words, not knowing what to say. They had originally thought Red Ponytail would take Illya away, but the other party clearly guessed their thoughts and left CASTER here...

Now it’s troublesome.

Whether it’s because the other side is Illya or CASTER, as a Heroic Spirit, facing the current situation, it’s likely difficult to deal with...

”—————!”

Before Emiya Kiritsugu could figure out what to say, the Golden Holy Grail on the platform suddenly emitted a warm and faint light, then slowly floated up. Upon seeing this, both Illya and Emiya Kiritsugu’s group turned their heads toward the Holy Grail.

No one knows exactly what it looks like when the Holy Grail is summoned; after all, the previous three Holy Grail Wars are over, and now may be the last chance!

Thinking of this, Emiya Kiritsugu clenched the gun in his hand, hesitating.

However, at this moment, an unexpected scene occurred.

”Glug glug...”

Suddenly, a sound resembling boiling water emanated from the Golden Holy Grail, and then everyone saw a large mass of dark red mixed with pitch black, indistinguishable between asphalt and oil, rolling out and falling to the ground.

”Ellie, what is that?”

Emiya Kiritsugu grew more tense as he looked at the scene before him. He could feel the malice emanating from the pitch-black liquid—that’s definitely not ordinary!

”I, I don’t know, but there shouldn’t be anything like this in the Holy Grail!”

Now even Irisviel’s voice began to tremble. If she had been skeptical of Fang Zheng’s words before, now Irisviel was truly convinced the Holy Grail must be problematic!

No matter what, such substances definitely should not appear in the Holy Grail!

”It’s supposed to be problematic, otherwise why would I be here.”

At this moment, Fang Zheng silently passed by the three from behind, casually responding. This startled the three, with Emiya Kiritsugu instinctively raising his gun to aim at Red Ponytail... only to lower it dejectedly again, knowing at this point that the Holy Grail War was already lost, and anything he does now would be futile.

”MASTER, what should we do now?”

”Hmm, first let’s...”

Before Fang Zheng could finish speaking, a low roar suddenly rang out.

”Ugh!”

Accompanied by the roar, everyone saw from the pitch-black liquid on the ground, one by one, pitch black full-bodied monsters with red eyes crawling out. They appeared to be Servants, yet seemed like amalgamations of Servants and beasts. Furthermore, Fang Zheng keenly sensed among them spreading a kind of...

Hmm?

”Illya, you go outside and lead everyone else to evacuate; leave this to me, get far away!”

”Ah, yes.”

Though not understanding why Fang Zheng would do this, Illya obediently nodded, then moved to Irisviel’s side and firmly gripped her hand.

”We should leave here quickly.”

Though uncertain about what happened, the current scene was evidently beyond the group’s capability to handle, and Emiya Kiritsugu certainly wouldn’t foolishly choose to stay—having lost the Holy Grail, all he had left were his wife, child, and his mistress.

Speaking of which, how does Emiya Kiritsugu deal with his mistress problems in Illya’s world?

Watching the hurried departing backs of the group, such a thought suddenly flashed through Fang Zheng’s mind, but even if he asked, Illya probably wouldn’t know... Sometimes, it’s better to not know.

”Ugh... ugh...”

At this moment, the dark shadow monsters multiplied, surrounding Fang Zheng, letting out beast-like growls. Like a pack of hungry wolves, ravenously glaring at the intruder of their territory.

But that’s not the point.

There’s only one focus.

”It’s indeed so.”

Feeling the gradually clear scent, Fang Zheng’s expression grew solemn.

He finally understood why Gaia needed him to address this Holy Grail War here.

Initially, Fang Zheng thought it was due to his participation in the Fourth Holy Grail War, but now, Fang Zheng knew the reason.

He sensed from these shadow creatures the presence of Chaos.

Though just a trace, nearly imperceptible, as though someone farted in the air leaving one unsure of its presence, Fang Zheng was certain that’s absolutely the Chaos from the Main World!

Has this thing even wandered into Another World?!

How troublesome is this?

With this realization, Fang Zheng sighed, then raised the Greatsword, quickly igniting the Primordial Fire.

”Obediently go back where you belong!”
