Chapter 1474: Chapter 1473: Rotten to the Core

”Ugh......”

The King’s hands tightly gripped the reins, his teeth grinding with anger. He truly hadn’t expected things to escalate to this point!

Now, the King couldn’t stop it even if he wanted to. Initially, to ruin Fang Zheng’s reputation, he had used a teleportation spell to broadcast the event nationwide. He intended to expose the Demon of the Shield’s ugly face to all the citizens, but unexpectedly, he ended up incriminating himself!

If he cuts off the ”broadcast” now, wouldn’t that be equivalent to admitting that the Four Sacred Heroes he summoned were fakes? At that moment, he would truly be doomed!

No! This absolutely cannot happen!

Thinking of this, the King took a deep breath, looking at the Hero of the Spear and Sword Hero beside him.

”Heroes, now is the time to show your strength.”

”Understood!”

Upon hearing the King’s words, the Sword Hero nodded and then took large strides forward.

”Let me handle this. Let them witness what true hero power looks like!”

As he spoke, the Sword Hero raised his sword, pointing it at Akemi Homura.

”Are you ready?”

Meanwhile, the surrounding Knights began to chant, and soon, a light wall resembling an enclosed arena appeared, encompassing the two of them. Everyone else retreated, clearing the square in front as a dueling ground for the duo.

”Homura.”

At this moment, it was Fang Zheng who spoke first.

”Let him make the first move; it’s a good chance to see just how weak he really is.”

”Okay.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Akemi Homura nodded, then turned back to face the Sword Hero, remaining silent.

”Take this! Meteor Sword!”

As the duel commenced, the Sword Hero raised his longsword and swung it forward with force. Soon, a flash of sword light appeared, shooting towards Akemi Homura.

However......

”Swish!”

In the blink of an eye, Akemi Homura, originally standing in place, quietly vanished and reappeared at another location not far away. Naturally, the Sword Hero’s Meteor Sword hit nothing but air.

”I didn’t expect you to have some skill. How about this then? Meteor Sword! Meteor Sword! Meteor Sword!”

Shouting intensely, the Sword Hero continued to release sword light shots, all of which Akemi Homura dodged with ease.

”This is despicable! Face me directly if you have the guts!”

Missing multiple attacks, the Sword Hero couldn’t help but shout out, while the spectators around him displayed puzzled expressions.

What is he talking about?

Among those present, besides soldiers, were many adventurers with rich combat experience. They all understood how to handle such attacks. However, the words of the Sword Hero sounded as if he was directly saying, ”Why don’t you come and let me slash you to death?”...Is this something a hero should say?

”Take this!”

At any rate, the Sword Hero still had some wits about him. Realizing that his long-range attacks couldn’t hit Akemi Homura, he charged in for a close-quarters fight and raised his longsword to slash at Akemi Homura.

Just as Fang Zheng had said, the Sword Hero had been in this world for almost a month and leveled up considerably. His speed and strength made this quite apparent.

However, his combat experience... not so much...

”Hah! Yah!”

Anyone with half a brain at the scene could see that the Sword Hero intended to defeat Akemi Homura with close-quarters combat. This was not a wrong choice, since the Bow Hero relies on a bow, which is less effective in close combat. However, the Sword Hero’s attacks were completely chaotic, essentially wild slashing. While his strength and speed were adequate, everything else was a complete mess.

Several Knights frowned at this point, thinking that such lousy swordsmanship wasn’t even worthy of being called swordsmanship. It was just like a child imitating cartoon characters.

Against such attacks, Akemi Homura didn’t even need to use Time Stop. She simply sidestepped and effortlessly dodged the Sword Hero’s assaults. It’s a joke; despite her weak attributes, Akemi Homura had faced countless witches over dozens of loops as a Magical Girl. In terms of combat experience alone, she utterly overwhelmed the Sword Hero.

”Enough, stop toying around.”

Fang Zheng couldn’t bear to watch anymore.

”Homura, take him out. We’re planning to have dinner.”

”Yes, Master.”

Akemi Homura was evidently getting bored as well. Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, she nodded. In the next moment, her figure vanished from before the Sword Hero, only to reappear at a distance, where she nocked an arrow on her longbow, aiming at the Sword Hero.

”Grenade Mode.”

As Akemi Homura spoke, a streak of golden radiance flowed across the Sacred Bow. She drew the bow and let an arrow fly.

”Swoosh———!”

The shining arrow shot forth, splitting into several Light Orbs that streaked across the sky and landed beside the Sword Hero, then......

”Boom boom boom!!”

A series of explosions erupted, instantly engulfing the Sword Hero.

”Uwa!!”

However, the Sword Hero’s actions were shocking to everyone. Facing Akemi Homura’s attack, he suddenly leaped backward and then... turned and ran!

”???”

Seeing this, the crowd was already dumbfounded. Showing your back to the enemy during a duel—what kind of fantasy swordsmanship trick is this?

Nevertheless, Akemi Homura’s expression remained unchanged as she raised her bow again, aiming at the Sword Hero who was trying to escape the explosion range.

”Shooting mode.”

”Swish swish swish!!”

Three Light Arrows instantly shot out, hitting the Sword Hero’s back like bullets. Accompanied by a series of screams, the Sword Hero collapsed and fainted.

In the end, Akemi Homura easily turned over this previously haughty Sword Hero with just two moves.

”This..........”

Everyone watching didn’t know what to say.

Even those who supported the King were speechless. They didn’t expect this Sword Hero to be so weak!

If they could previously convince themselves by saying ”perhaps this is a unique fighting style from a hero’s fantasy world” to explain away the Sword Hero’s inexplicable actions, they were now completely at a loss for words. A guy who was taken down so effortlessly, does he deserve to be called the Sword Hero?

He’s probably just crazy!

”It seems the situation is crystal clear.”

Fang Zheng sneered as he looked at the King in the distance, who was too blue-faced to speak.

”Wait......wait a minute!”

At this moment, suddenly, the Hero of the Spear stood up.

”This is unfair!”

”Oh? How so?”

”We are here to deal with the Demon Creatures, not to fight humans! Demon Creatures do not act like humans! Having us fight humans is a mistake. We admit we might not beat you, but we can definitely defeat those Demon Creatures!”

What is this guy saying?

Facing the Hero of the Spear’s lame argument, everyone was speechless.

Does such a thing exist?

”Fine, I will give you one last chance.”

Seeing the Hero of the Spear in front of him, Fang Zheng chuckled.

”Since you insist, let me see what kind of strength you can muster in the upcoming third Wave. If you can eliminate the Demon Creatures from the Wave, we’ll see. But if you can’t even defeat the Demon Creatures in the Wave......”

At this point, Fang Zheng snorted coldly.

”You know what the consequences are.”

”Ugh......”

Facing Fang Zheng’s threat, the Hero of the Spear was momentarily lost for words. He also noticed the skeptical and distrustful, even disdainful, gazes from the surrounding people. Realizing this, the Hero of the Spear was incredibly angry inside.

What a joke! They said we were heroes before and treated us warmly, but now they have zero trust in us, these fair-weather friends!

”Hehe......”

Seeing the Hero of the Spear’s expression, Fang Zheng sneered. Indeed, he hadn’t encountered society’s cruelty, an ignorant little kid. Do you think people respect you? Sucking up to you because you’re a Hero? Of course not, it’s because Heroes can resist the Wave. Straightforwardly, only those who demonstrate great strength and resist the Wave are called Heroes, and others flatter you for that.

And once you don’t show that power, in others’ eyes, you are worthless.

Then, you won’t be a ”Hero from Another World,” but a ”Waste from Another World.”

Although from Another World, ultimately you are just waste.

And no one cares about waste.

”Fine, I’ll make it clear to you, and let you know who the real Hero is!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s sneer, the Hero of the Spear finally let his anger overpower his senses and shouted.

”When the next Wave strikes, I will let you witness my power!”

”Then, let’s wait until next time.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng directly turned around and left.

”Homura, Raphtalia, Liphana, let’s go.”

As Fang Zheng and his group turned to leave, the soldiers surrounding them hesitated for a moment and then dispersed, making way for Fang Zheng and his companions. Seeing this scene, the King on horseback clenched his fists in anger.

”Shield—————————!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
