Chapter 1477: Chapter 1476: Hero of the Spear’s Downfall II

”That’s it!”

The Hero of the Spear lifted the seed high in his hand and couldn’t help but shout.

”Next, as long as we take this back to the village, everything will be solved!”

”Truly worthy of Master Genkan!”

”Master Genkan is truly amazing!!”

Meanwhile, Female No. 1 and Female No. 2, who were following along with the Hero of the Spear, immediately stepped forward to praise him. Although they didn’t do anything along the way, flattering the Hero of the Spear was considered their main task.

”Hahaha, right, right... hmm?”

It wasn’t until now that the Hero of the Spear seemed to notice something amiss. He turned his head and looked behind, only to be dumbfounded at the empty path.

”Where’s Main?”

”This...”

”She was just behind us, maybe she got lost?”

”What happened? What kind of joke is this?”

Now the Hero of the Spear also furrowed his brow, then put the seed back in his pocket and strode back along the original path.

”Hey! Main!”

”Can you hear me? Where are you?!”

As he walked back, the Hero of the Spear called out loudly, but there was no response. Now his other two companions also became tense.

”What’s going on? Could there be some dangerous creature hidden here?”

”Are you kidding...?”

”How’s that possible!”

Listening to the two women’s whispers, the Hero of the Spear also furrowed his brow. He was very familiar with this ruin, having completed tasks here multiple times in the game. There were simply no formidable enemies here, only a group of weak goblins, which he had already mostly exterminated earlier.

Right, if his memory served him correctly, there should still be a goblin lair in the depths of the ruin.

Could she have gone there?

Shouldn’t be, right.

But in any case, let’s go have a look first.

With this thought, the Hero of the Spear led his companions toward the goblin lair down the different path.

He didn’t see any goblins along the way, but for some reason, the Hero of the Spear felt uneasy. He strode through the corridor, passing alongside a collapsed trap, and headed straight to the deepest part of the ruin.

”Boom!”

The Hero of the Spear kicked open the heavy wooden door and walked in.

This was originally the warehouse of the ruin, now turned into a goblin lair. The Hero of the Spear knew this quite well from the game but didn’t care much about it. After all, they were just goblins with no significant experience points in the game, just annoying pests.

But now...

”Gwoah!”

On hearing the door being kicked open, the goblins turned towards the entrance, surprised. However, at this moment, the Hero of the Spear paid no attention to these minor creatures but widened his eyes, staring at the depths of the warehouse.

There, a woman with long red hair was pinned to the wall, her once beautiful body now covered in scars, with goblins pressing freshly extinguished torches onto her skin, leaving it scalded and ruined. Her entire body emitted a foul odor; her mouth was bleeding, and several teeth had been knocked out — directly smashed away by the goblins with a stone for not being obedient.

Beside her, several young goblins were laughing maliciously as they jabbed at the woman with broken daggers, as if playing with a punching bag.

Although not very recognizable, the familiar coat on the woman...

”Main?”

The Hero of the Spear was shocked, widened his eyes, and unconsciously asked. Hearing his inquiry, the woman slowly raised her head — her eyes were lifeless, dirt smeared all over her face. She opened her mouth, revealing blood-stained lips, with saliva and blood mixed with tooth fragments dripping onto the ground.

Her fiery-red hair had been cruelly torn off by the goblins, exposing bloody wounds on her head.

”Mas...ter Gen...kan...”

”Ah... Ah Ah... Ahh!!!”

Upon hearing Main’s response, the Hero of the Spear let out an angry roar, gripping his long spear tightly, and glared at the goblins before him.

”Just mere goblins, you dare, you actually dare...!!!”

Screaming furiously, the Hero of the Spear raised his Holy Gun, charging forward.

”Meteor Spear! Meteor Spear!! Meteor Spear!!!”

”Gwaaa!!”

”Screech!!”

These goblins were inherently weak. Under the attack of the Hero of the Spear, a large portion of them soon died out, screaming. The remaining goblins seemed intimidated by the Hero of the Spear’s attack, shrieking and fleeing.

”Main! Hang in there, I’m coming to save you now!”

Upon seeing the goblins running away, the Hero of the Spear breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ran to Main’s side, reaching out his hand to try to get her down.

However, just as the Hero of the Spear reached out to untie the ropes binding Main...

”Splurch!”

What’s this?

The Hero of the Spear looked down, staring blankly at the blade that had emerged from Main’s abdomen and pierced himself in the groin. For a moment, he didn’t understand what was happening. But soon, intense pain exploded, causing the Hero of the Spear to instinctively bend over and scream.

”Aaaa!! It’s so painful!!”

Although the Hero of the Spear was covered in armor from head to toe, his groin was obviously unprotected. The blow instinctively made the Hero of the Spear curl up and start yelling.

”Gugugu! Gugugu!!”

The goblin hiding behind Main then dropped the longsword in its hand, excitedly grabbed a stone nearby with both hands, raised it high over the Hero of the Spear, and smashed it down vigorously.

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

”Whoa! What are you doing!”

The Hero of the Spear was smashed over the head by the goblin and hurriedly tried to break free, but the pain in his groin prevented him from standing up. All he could do was cover his head with his hands and try his best to fend off the goblin’s attack. At this moment, the Hero of the Spear heard another scream.

”What, what are you doing?!”

”Let me go, let me go! Help me! Master Hero!”

That was...

The Hero of the Spear turned his head towards the direction of the voice and saw his other two companions, somehow pinned to the ground by goblins too. The magician’s magic wand was snapped by a goblin, rendered useless.

”You, you dare to break my magic wand, that was, that was... aaa!!”

Female No. 2 didn’t get to finish her sentence before seeing the impatient goblin stab a dagger into her abdomen and start twisting it.

”It hurts! It hurts! Save me! Save me!!”

”Get away from me, get away!!”

Listening to the screams of his companions, the Hero of the Spear yelled furiously. However, the goblins showed no fear, instead chuckling sinisterly as they surrounded them and relentlessly smashed their weapons over the captors’ heads.

These bastards, bastards!! Just a group of goblins, just some goblins!!

Watching the chaos unfold before him, the Hero of the Spear’s eyes reddened further. What a joke, you’re just a bunch of goblins, goblins who can’t even provide experience points in a game. How dare you treat me like this! How dare you treat me like this! I’m going to kill you! Kill you! Kill you!

However, the Hero of the Spear’s anger didn’t stop the goblins. They cackled and continued to beat the enemies with their weapons. Soon, the Hero of the Spear’s companions were screaming, struggling, begging, and eventually crying. But none of this mattered to the goblins; they only found joy in it and tried to savor the delight they derived from it.

Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!

Gripping the long spear firmly, the Hero of the Spear glanced at his companions one last time and made a decision.

”Teleport!”

Then, he disappeared into the air.

The Four Sacred Heroes possess the ability to teleport to recorded locations, a means to retreat in case of emergencies. But perhaps due to the fight, or simply feeling goblins weren’t threatening enough to concern him, the Hero of the Spear hadn’t thought to use this ability until the survival-critical juncture arrived.

”Thud!!”

In the next moment, the heavily injured Hero of the Spear fell hard before the Hourglass of the Dragon. Seeing his appearance, the Holy Practitioners guarding the Hourglass rushed forward.

”Master Hero, what happened?”

”Why did you return alone? Where are the others?”

”I... I...”

Facing the inquiries from the believers of the Three Heroes Sect, the Hero of the Spear couldn’t speak for a moment. What was there to say? Could he admit being defeated by a bunch of goblins? How could he explain this to the believers of the Three Heroes Sect? Now, only the King and the believers of the Three Heroes Sect still trusted him! Could he really share such an embarrassing truth?

If this got out, wouldn’t he be labeled a fraud?

Having thought it through, the Hero of the Spear’s eyes suddenly brightened. He forced himself to look up at the Holy Practitioners in front of him.

”It was the Shield...”

”What?”

”It was the Shield... The bastard attacked us while we were off guard, killed my companions, only I managed to escape. It was him, he did it!!”
