Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1472: Chapter 1471: Summon One More (Youko Is Such a Devil!!)

The room was enveloped in deathly silence.

Staring at the image projected on the crystal ball, the King gritted his teeth, clutching the armrests tightly. Beside him, the woman named Main also turned pale.

When they incited the Bow Hero to cause trouble for the Hero of the Shield, they anticipated various scenarios, but never did they expect that the other party would, without a word, outright kill the Bow Hero!

Killed!!

”Huff... Huff...”

However, after the initial shock, what came to the King was anger.

”Damn Shield! Damn Demon of the Shield! I will never, ever forgive you! How can I let you continue this reckless behavior? I swear, I swear I will kill you! Kill you!!”

Glaring fiercely at the scene within the crystal ball, the King let out a beast-like roar.

”I will never let you go! Demon of the Shield!!!!!!!!!”

At this moment, Fang Zheng, naturally, did not hear the King’s enraged shouts. On the contrary, he was already humming a song as he opened the Mage’s Mansion and entered his warm and cozy little nest.

”Um... Master...”

”Hmm? What’s the matter?”

”Why did you kill the Bow Hero?”

”Yeah, yeah, he was the Bow Hero...”

Raphtalia and Liphana finally gathered the courage to ask. In fact, after witnessing Fang Zheng straightforwardly slay the Bow Hero, both of them were dumbfounded. Although the Bow Hero’s actions previously had also made them angry, they never thought of killing the Bow Hero!

After all, he was one of the heroes summoned to resist the waves. With him killed by them... what would happen to the waves?

”I warned them once before, but they wouldn’t listen, and there was nothing I could do. Besides, I always mean what I say. If I say I will kill, then I will. Do you think I’m the kind of person who goes back on their word?”

At this point, Fang Zheng glanced at the two.

”Moreover, this guy might not even be the real Bow Hero.”

”Eh?”

Hearing this, both Raphtalia and Liphana were taken aback.

”What do you mean, Master?”

”I had a little chat with it on the way.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng raised the bow in his hand.

”Things seem to be more complicated.”

Indeed, at first, Fang Zheng thought that the Bow of the Four Saints was a coward, but after communicating with it, he found the situation was more complex than he imagined.

According to the conversation with the bow, the summoning of the Four Sacred Artifacts was actually a two-way selection. This is quite understandable, as many animations or games would have scenarios where ”it’s not you who chose XX, but XX who chose you.” The Four Sacred Artifacts have their own set of standards for choosing heroes.

It’s like applying for a job; you need to submit a resume, pass a test, interview, and meet the requirements before starting the job. This is the proper process. The previous Four Sacred Heroes were all summoned in this manner. It’s a two-way selection where the Four Sacred Artifacts choose the person who they think is suitable and meets the standard to be their hero.

But this time, things were different.

While the other heroes were unclear, the Bow Hero was not chosen by the bow. On the contrary, he seemed more like a backdoor candidate parachuting into the position.

It’s like wanting a candidate with a master’s or doctorate, but getting a diploma holder instead. Although somewhat displeased, you just have to make do.

That’s roughly what happened.

However, the result of ”making do” didn’t last long. The diploma holder ultimately wasn’t equivalent to one with higher qualifications, made a wrong choice, and was ”dismissed” by Fang Zheng. Naturally, the Sacred Bow immediately switched allegiances, seeking help. It was never fond of this owner, and with such foolish behavior...

”So that’s how it was...”

After listening to Fang Zheng’s explanation, both Raphtalia and Liphana sighed in relief. They initially thought he was the real Bow Hero, but Fang Zheng’s words eased their minds considerably.

This wasn’t because they blindly trusted Fang Zheng, but because the Bow Hero’s previous behavior didn’t match their expectations of a Bow Hero, seeming more like a rogue...

”But... now with the Bow Hero gone...”

”Just summon another one.”

Fang Zheng seemed quite calm. Although that idiotic King said that another hero couldn’t be summoned before the four were dead, that was just because the people of that world were weaklings. With Fang Zheng’s power, he could summon anyone he wanted. This was also why the Sacred Bow clung to him desperately since he was evidently its only hope for continuing its mission.

As for the conditions to be a hero, although the Sacred Bow listed various criteria, Fang Zheng summarized them into one sentence after reading.

You need a main character aura.

So in other words, this Bow Hero just didn’t have a main character aura... which makes sense, otherwise how could he have died by my hand?

”Alright, go take a bath and sleep; I need to think about whom to summon.”

After hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the two girls obediently returned to their room to sleep, while Fang Zheng placed the Sacred Bow beside him and began to think.

Frankly speaking, if it were for enhancing strength, the Sacred Bow would be a good weapon. However, there’s a major issue with these Four Sacred Artifacts: once equipped, using other weapons is not allowed. In this scenario, finding someone to wield the Sacred Bow is evidently very troublesome.

Of course, when it comes to ARCHER, Fang Zheng thinks of Atalanta and Little Hei first, but the former has her own Noble Phantasm, and the latter... if you don’t let her wield a sword, be careful she’ll turn on you.

As for the others... Black Cat now plays Magic, Eiriri isn’t interested in long-range, Asuna uses a Rapier...

Natsuse is into spiritual energy, Nobiru is skilled in footwork, Midori is also not suited to using a bow, Tina excels at long-distance gathering, and currently, it’s unknown how far this bow’s range will extend, it would certainly be frustrating if it’s not far enough.

Lin Yueru and Zhao Ling’er don’t use bows and arrows, neither do Nie Xiaoqian and Aya... hmm... as for the Magical Girls, they mostly have their Magitech Devices... oh!

Just then, Fang Zheng thought of someone and clapped his hands.

It’s decided, you’re the one!

Soon, Fang Zheng reached out his hand, swiped through the air, opened the Dimensional Codex System, then he pulled up a list, found a name, and tapped it.

[Summon the target to this world?]

”Yes!”

Facing the inquiry before him, Fang Zheng nodded. This world is just a normal Aid World without any restrictions, meaning if he could, Fang Zheng could even summon the entire Heavenly Dao Palace here.

But... given the current situation of this world, Fang Zheng feels that randomly bringing a few people for leveling up should be enough...

After all, the attitudes of the people here... hehe.

If Fang Zheng really summoned a Battleship, he’d surely blow up the whole castle along with the King immediately.

Soon, as Fang Zheng made his decision, a stroke of golden Radiance appeared before him, followed by the emergence of a black long-haired girl right in front of Fang Zheng.

”Master.”

Upon seeing Fang Zheng, the black-haired girl lowered her head and respectfully saluted Fang Zheng.

”Yo, Homura, just in time.”

Waving to Akemi Homura, Fang Zheng slightly curled his lips into a smile. That’s right, Fang Zheng finally chose Akemi Homura as the Bow Hero; on one hand, Akemi Homura herself possesses most of the hero traits listed for Sacred Bow, including intelligence, perseverance, bravery... after all, being willing to loop hundreds of times for her friends already speaks volumes.

On the other hand, Akemi Homura is indeed adept at using various long-range weapons, yet due to this, she lacks a handy weapon — because Akemi Homura’s abilities are entirely support-oriented, with no combat power at all. Therefore, Akemi Homura must boost her combat abilities through various weapons.

This also places severe limits on her combat capabilities, and the weapons Akemi Homura is currently using are basically sourced from different worlds. For example, heavy machine guns, sniper rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, plasma rifles, plasma grenades, directional mines, and even includes surface-to-air and air-to-air along with various medium and long-range missiles and rockets... one could say Akemi Homura herself is a walking arsenal.

However, this also leaves Akemi Homura lacking a central attack output method.

That’s why, despite being a Magical Girl with potent abilities, Akemi Homura was the first to be eliminated in previous competitions.

Once restricted or faced with enemies impervious to physical attacks, Akemi Homura would truly be at a loss.

Thus, in Fang Zheng’s view, giving this bow to Akemi Homura is the best choice; she herself is skilled in ranged attacks and doesn’t have a fixed weapon, this Sacred Bow can complement Akemi Homura’s shortcomings in attack.

”So, Master, you mean, you want me to have this bow?”

As she spoke, Akemi Homura curiously picked up the bow on the table, and soon, in Akemi Homura’s hands, the Sacred Bow suddenly emitted a dazzling Radiance, and the next moment, Fang Zheng saw Akemi Homura’s personal information frame appear right before her.

However...

”So low?”

Looking at the personal attributes shown in Akemi Homura’s information frame, Fang Zheng was stunned.

In this world, Holy Weapons and heroes’ attributes are bound together, meaning at the start when arriving in this world, due to the binding with Holy Weapons, all Four Sacred Heroes’ initial Rank is Level One.

However, in terms of attributes, there is a huge difference.

Take Fang Zheng, for example, his Shield might be Level One, but all his attributes measured against this world are 999, which is basically equivalent to a game character with initial max attributes, aside from leveling up, Fang Zheng has almost nothing else to worry about.

But as for Akemi Homura?

Basically... her current attributes are about the level of Raphtalia and Liphana at Level Ten!

Amazing you’ve survived till now!

Looking at Akemi Homura’s attributes, Fang Zheng was shocked, if you calculate it, almost none are at B-Level, all are C-Level or below!

Hmm... come to think of it, Akemi Homura using modern technology was the right move, otherwise, based on her own skills, she’s no match for Little Hei in strength, no competition for Nanoha or Illya in magic power, she’s not as quick as Fate, her combat methods aren’t as varied as Little Sakura, and her support effects can’t rival Shisei...

Oh, this is after Akemi Homura became his Enchanted; at least being Enchanted by the Time Dragon offered her some extra attribute boosts, otherwise, it’d be even worse...

No, now comparing it, it feels almost like crying.

”Um... Master? Is there any problem?”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s expression, Akemi Homura suddenly became uneasy, while Fang Zheng shook his head.

”No... Homura!”

”Present.”

”Start leveling up diligently tomorrow.”

Seems choosing Akemi Homura this time was indeed the right call.
