Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1487: Chapter 1486: The Secrets of This World (I, Sibei Cat, Am Super Fierce!)

Finally, after leveling up to sixty, Fang Zheng contentedly led the three to the designated place and met the legendary Queen of the Filo Bird, Queen Fitoria.

However......

”She doesn’t look very big.”

Looking at the girl who was a head shorter than him, Fang Zheng gestured slightly and curiously looked at Anzu next to him, while Anzu helplessly rolled her eyes.

”I meant her original form is big... let’s not talk about that, you owe me compensation!”

”Compensation? Why? What did she do to you?”

”She didn’t do anything to me, but those Filo Birds......!”

As she spoke, Anzu angrily extended her hand, pointing to the group of Filo Birds standing not far away watching the commotion.

”They ate all my snacks!”

Saying this, Anzu was filled with grief and tears. Honestly, when she first met the Queen of the Filo Bird and this group of Filo Birds, she quite liked them. After all, Anzu had gotten along well with Filo before, so she was very enthusiastic towards these Filo Birds. And Anzu’s way of expressing friendliness naturally was to share food with them.

What she didn’t expect was that these Filo Birds became addicted, chasing Anzu every day for food and staring at her with their gleaming eyes when she didn’t give any, leaving Anzu now with not even a single snack left on her.

”I don’t even have instant noodles left!”

”Is it that bad? Speaking of which, won’t the Filo Birds eating these cause any issues... Oh well, it seems to be fine.”

Looking at Anzu’s woeful expression, Fang Zheng shook his head, then ”snap,” he snapped his fingers, and soon, a container filled with snacks appeared in front of Anzu. Seeing this container, Anzu also cheered.

”Little ones, let’s charge!!”

Shouting, Anzu directly opened the container and dashed inside, while the flock of Filo Birds behind her chirped noisily and rushed into the container as well.

Little ones?

Hearing this, Fang Zheng twitched the corner of his mouth, then looked at the Queen Filo in front of him.

I say, someone is trying to steal your spot, aren’t you going to do anything about it?

”Are you the Hero of the Shield?”

However, Queen Filo seemingly didn’t care about her subordinates being ”bought off,” and only stared at Fang Zheng before calmly asking.

Her appearance was somewhat like Filo, with short silver hair touching her shoulders and a pair of white wings growing behind her. But compared to Filo, this Queen’s attire was evidently more luxurious and clearly not ordinary. Perhaps because of being a queen for so long, her delicate and cute little face showed no expression, looking like a taciturn doll.

But Fang Zheng could feel that this queen was quite simple, not at all like Mirellia———that woman who he could see was sinister from head to toe, someone he couldn’t be bothered dealing with. Unlike Queen Filo before him, who was somewhat interesting.

”My name is Fitoria, Queen of the Filo Bird.”

Introducing herself, Fitoria looked at Filo standing behind Fang Zheng.

”I’ve already heard from Anzu about the situation, I heard you’re looking for a new queen candidate? How did you find Filo? By the way...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng looked over at the group of Filo Birds now gathered around Anzu, starting to eat chocolate sticks.

”Why does this little chubby bird look a bit different from the other Filo Birds? Could it be she’s your daughter?”

”That’s not the case.”

Fitoria calmly shook her head.

”The reason she grew like this is because she was raised by a hero.”

”Hmm... speaking of the shield system, indeed there is a demon creature nurturing boost... wait!”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng froze for a moment.

”So, no matter which Filo Bird I raise, it will eventually turn into a chubby bird?”

”Exactly so.”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Fitoria nodded.

”In fact, I was raised by the previous Hero of the Shield.”

What the heck! I thought I was just lucky, turns out it was preordained!

Fang Zheng pat Filo’s head, looking speechless.

”So, what do you plan to do now? To be honest, you seem very young still, surely it’s not time to be looking for a successor, is it?”

”We’ll talk about this later.”

Saying this, Fitoria gestured to Fang Zheng.

”I have some things I would like to discuss privately with the Hero of the Shield.”

”Conveniently, I also have many questions I need to ask you.”

Hearing Fitoria, Fang Zheng also nodded, then he signaled the others to go play with the group of Filo Birds, before following Fitoria as they walked deeper into the ruins.

”The actions you’ve taken, I am aware of, Hero of the Shield.”

Walking alongside the wall, Fitoria spoke in a low voice.

”But I am puzzled, why aren’t you helping to fend off the waves attacking other nations?”

”Other nations?”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng furrowed his brow.

”You mean, the waves are occurring in various places across the continent?”

”Exactly.”

”That’s strange, previously, during the three waves, we Four Sacred Heroes were summoned to the same battlefield, what’s going on?”

”The hero should know about the hourglass, right?”

Facing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Queen Fitoria responded with another question, to which Fang Zheng nodded in agreement.

”I know, is there a problem?”

”In fact, this world has several hourglasses. According to the original rules, each country should summon a Four Sacred Hero to resonate with that country’s Dragon Hourglass. This way, when the waves happen, the Four Sacred Heroes would be teleported to different battlefields to fight.”

”I see.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng sneered.

”That idiot king was lucky not to be taken down before.”

But he still died at my hands.

According to Fitoria, the Four Sacred Heroes should have resonated with the Dragon Hourglasses of the four countries in the north, south, east, and west. This way, when the waves erupted, the Four Sacred Heroes could counter the waves on these four battlefields respectively. However, Megmarlo XXXII summoned all the Four Sacred Heroes to Megmarlo.........

It seems Megmarlo hasn’t been wiped out by other enraged countries entirely thanks to the waves.

Hmm? When I think about it, doesn’t Hobrey also have an hourglass?

Hmm...... Seems like Shana can’t escape this.

”Understood, I will inform the others to connect with the hourglasses in other areas of the continent.”

Fang Zheng nodded, as this is indeed one of the most crucial issues.

”Next, I have some questions......”

There’s no denying that Queen Fitoria is indeed impressive. As a once compansion of the Hero, she has a deep understanding of the state of this world. Through Fitoria’s explanations, Fang Zheng learned many things.

First, those three people were not lying; the waves occur due to the phenomenon of world fusion. From Fitoria, Fang Zheng learned something else.

That is, the fusion of the two worlds can be resisted, but sacrifices are needed.

To be frank, it requires a lot of souls.

According to Fitoria, only a substantial amount of souls can form and strengthen the barrier to resist the fusion of another world. It’s like two eggs crashing into each other, if one strengthens itself to the level of a stone, it can withstand the collision with the other egg, and when the other egg shatters, it becomes safe.

Then it takes hundreds or thousands of years for the barrier to become thin again, and then it’s time for another.

Unfortunately, even Fitoria doesn’t know how the waves and the Four Sacred Hero System came to be. This disappointed Fang Zheng, but there was no other choice since Fitoria was just a former companion of heroes protecting the world, and at that time the Four Sacred Heroes were only helping to resist the waves. As for other matters...... they seemingly didn’t consider them.

It seems now that the next wave will have to be awaited for a personal investigation.

”Why do you ask these things for?”

After answering Fang Zheng’s questions, Fitoria looked curiously at Fang Zheng. Initially, she thought the Hero of the Shield just wanted to learn about the situation of this world, but surprisingly, he inquired about the Four Sacred Hero System and some matters she never considered before.

”Because I do not intend to resist the waves.”

Facing Fitoria’s inquiry, Fang Zheng shook his head and gave an answer. Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Fitoria frowned.

”You don’t intend to?”

”Yes.”

Fang Zheng nodded again, and continued.

”Even if I resist the waves and protect this world, after hundreds or thousands of years, they’ll come again, so I plan to... completely eliminate them!”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, Fitoria was instantly shocked.

Completely eliminate the waves?

Looking at Fang Zheng in front of her, she could hardly believe what she heard. Before this, no one had ever said such words, yet this man said it so calmly, as if it was merely a predetermined goal for him.

”But there’s something strange now. I initially wanted to closely observe it in the next wave, but a problem has emerged......”

Fang Zheng had already used Tanji to explore the outer space of this world. The results showed that everything was normal out there, without any other planets existing — which is reasonable because if it were a physical collision between two planets, their mutual gravitational attraction alone would be enough to cause catastrophic destruction.

In other words, the fusion of the two worlds is a dimensional space problem.

Time travel between various worlds is Fang Zheng’s specialty.

Isn’t the Dimensional Codex specifically for this?

Therefore, Fang Zheng already planned that when the next waves come, he’d directly rush to the other side of the waves to see what the situation is there.

Might as well burn it to the ground with fire.

Not hesitating to start a primordial fire when encountering problems has always been Fang Zheng’s habit.

However, the current issue is......

”The countdown for the waves has stopped, it’s been inactive for days, do you know what’s going on?”

Indeed, the countdown has stopped, not moving, which leaves Fang Zheng helpless.

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Fitoria’s expression changed suddenly.

”The countdown stopped? Could it be...... the spirit beast has awakened?”

”Spirit beast?”

”Yes.”

Fitoria nodded.

”To save this world, not only the Four Sacred Heroes are exerting effort. In fact, in ancient times, there existed Four Sacred Beasts. When they wake, they will kill numerous lives and absorb their souls as a supplement to the world barrier to resist the fusion of the two worlds......”

”There’s such a thing?”

Upon hearing Fitoria’s words, Fang Zheng also frowned.

It seems the situation is indeed becoming more troublesome.
