Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 645: Chapter 451: Kanto Shaken (Part 2)

[You have arrived at Hulbury Town, a port city bustling with shops, markets, and famous restaurants. After hesitating for a moment, you decide to head to the renowned Fanpuoting Seafood Restaurant to satisfy your hunger]

The camera pulls back, as usual allowing Baimu to admire the pixel version of Hulbury Town surrounded by water from a bird’s eye view.

The largest building here is naturally the Hulbury Arena, built on energy points, with the Gym Leader Lulina known as ”Towering Waves.” Besides being a Gym Leader, she is also a popular model with many fans.

The portrait is particularly cute.

The camera moves down to the Fanpuoting Seafood Restaurant.

The Superpower User came here mainly to satisfy his hunger, but unexpectedly he saw a familiar face.

[You encounter President Luozi, who smiles and waves at you after seeing you. You ponder for two seconds, then shake your head with resistance, preparing to leave]

What the heck.

Baimu doesn’t know how to retort for a moment and suspects Luozi is here waiting for the Superpower User.

In the scene, Luozi sees the Superpower User preparing to leave and sends his secretary Olivia to stop him, forcefully bringing him to converse.

[You hear President Luozi praising your performance at Turffield Arena, and you modestly express that you merely demonstrated your capabilities]

The pixel character of the Superpower User has ellipsis constantly appearing over his head.

[Although your body is gradually becoming healthier due to exercise, you are still not good at social interactions, unsure how to respond to the enthusiastic President Luozi]

Ugh...

Mild social anxiety.

Baimu instinctively turns to look at Dragapult, and its gaze inadvertently meets his. When their gazes collide again, it’s as though startled, suddenly disappearing into invisibility. A few seconds later, when Baimu turns back, it reappears with sheepishness in its small eyes.

On the screen.

Luozi doesn’t chat with the Superpower User for long. Before leaving, he asks a question.

[You hear President Luozi asking if you like the Galar Region now. You shake your head again, telling him you haven’t seen enough scenery yet. He leaves with a smile, expressing anticipation for your performance at Hulbury Arena]

It’s evident that Luozi greatly appreciates the Superpower User; otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked again whether he liked the Galar Region.

He seems very skilled at conversing with those not good with words, likely gaining experience from dealing with Onio, one of the Gym Leaders of Inheritance Town, who is even more socially anxious.

Baimu can’t help but marvel at how the Superpower User mustered so much courage to expose his superpowers in public earlier.

Speaking of which.

The Superpower User is quite honest.

Logically, it was Luozi who indirectly questioned him with ”why should I give you a recommendation letter,” and the Superpower User responded with his superpowers using ”because of this.”

In short, he’s a well-behaved honest person.

The scene shifts.

The Superpower User goes to Hulbury Arena and schedules a challenge. When he exits and re-enters, the timeline smoothly advances to several days later, officially starting the second Gym Battle.

[You challenge Hulbury Gym Leader Lulina]

As Lulina appears, the wave-like cheers from the audience prove just how popular she is.

Interestingly, when the Superpower User appears in his challenge attire, he also receives cheers from the audience.

Both sides release their Pokémon, with the background music instantly kicking in.

Baimu can’t help but tremble, attracting curious glances from nearby Pokémon, but upon seeing the Trainer just changing his posture, they silently retract their gazes.

On the screen.

The Superpower User predictably chooses Hypno as the starter, while Lulina goes for Golisopod.

The screen appropriately enlarges, with subtitles to let Baimu see the ”details.”

As the two Pokémon enter the field, Golisopod is the first to use A Head-on Attack against Hypno, its speed influenced by priority move, coming to Hypno’s front in the blink of an eye, the heavy frontal pincer striking quickly—

Then Hypno indifferently swats it away with [Slap].

With a smack.

Golisopod is dumbfounded, brainstorming instantly.

Wait a minute! You’re a Psychic Attribute Pokémon, where did you get such strength? I’m using A Head-on Attack, aren’t I? What did you use? Hey? Wait!? Why are you so buff? Why do you have obvious muscles!?

Hypno doesn’t bother being polite, grabbing Golisopod and slamming it to the ground, then using Thunder Fist to pummel it three or four times, hitting it so hard it doubts its bug’s life and also loses energy, before pulling out a coin hidden in the fur on its neck to prepare for hypnosis.

Who would have thought just as it was about to act, Golisopod’s Trait [Danger Avoidance] activates, flying back into Lulina’s Pokeball.

[Looking at the opponent you couldn’t successfully take down, you feel somewhat regretful]

Both the Superpower User and Hypno have expressions of sigh over their heads, making Lulina have a long string of ellipsis above hers.

Luckily, she’s no pushover either, immediately sending out Pelipper upon sensing something amiss.

Upon landing, Trait activates, rain set in motion. Under Lulina’s command, Pelipper doesn’t dare to get too close to Hypno, afraid of being grabbed and slammed.

Their strategy is clearly to use ranged attacks to take down Hypno.

The Superpower User also straightforwardly opts for a switch, sending Starmie up, who, despite being a Psychic Attribute Pokémon, manages to master flying abilities even without Electromagnetic Levitation.
