Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 608: Chapter 433: Quartz Test Paper_2

The pixelated person and pixelated Pokémon drowning in the river were suddenly enveloped by a flash of blue light, flying out of the water and returning to the shore.

The Superpower User was surprised.

[You look at your hands in disbelief, and the children nearby cheer in amazement, but you snap back to reality, knowing this definitely wasn’t something you could do.]

He wisely turned around and vaguely saw a shadow moving away in the woods by the riverbank.

[You see an adult approaching and try to catch up with the shadow.]

”This is...”

Baimu was startled. The shadow in the picture moved quickly, but it could be seen that it was round.

The Superpower User clearly couldn’t keep running, as the earlier ordeal in the river had drained much of his energy, and he fell flat on the ground with a splat when he tried to pursue.

Unexpectedly, his fall caused the shadow to come over.

It was a chubby Drowzee.

As a Pokémon that feeds on dreams and especially loves eating children’s dreams, it was quite reasonable for it to rescue a drowning child.

The fallen Superpower User met Drowzee’s gaze.

[You look at Drowzee and, almost instinctively, pull a spoon from your pocket and use your superpower—the spoon bends, Drowzee laughs, so you laugh too.]

[You became friends.]

Is the journey finally about to begin?

Baimu blinked, thinking he was about to see a growth story akin to that of Trainer Mann Chong.

Unfortunately, the Superpower User’s weak and often ill condition was deeply ingrained.

On the night he rescued the drowning child, he fell seriously ill for a week because he didn’t dry off properly after getting into and out of the water, but during that time he maintained contact with Drowzee.

Drowzee even came directly to his home.

On the day the Superpower User recovered, he successfully made Drowzee his partner.

[You captured Drowzee, adding a Psychic Attribute partner.]

After becoming a Trainer, the Superpower User naturally became interested in the Quartz Conference. However, it was apparent that his physical condition was insufficient to support him traveling around, and even commanding battles and Pokémon training required considerable energy.

Thus, the Superpower User decided to start physical training.

”Getting a Pokémon has also brought motivation, huh?”

Baimu watched the screen with some anticipation, wondering just how much he could train in a short time...

The scenes shuffled.

Finally, it froze on a particular day.

It wasn’t that the Superpower User’s physical training had already yielded results, but rather if he wanted to participate in this year’s Quartz Conference, time was running out if he didn’t set off soon.

Only three months remained.

For a Trainer like the Superpower User, with zero nurturing experience and very weak physique, challenging eight Gyms in three months was near impossible, not to mention he only had one Pokémon.

[You start considering whether to participate in the Quartz Alliance next year instead.]

Whoa.

Are they just handing me a fallback option?

Baimu gritted his teeth, thinking that in this simulation, any progress in rank was a gain, and relying on a fallback option was not friendly.

Luckily, after learning of his thoughts, the Superpower User’s parents jokingly pointed him in the right direction—

[Pokémon Examination]

A test that evaluates whether a Trainer is qualified, based on a combination of written and battle exam scores. Passers could gain a badge qualifying them to challenge the Pokémon Alliance, without needing to collect all eight badges.

This exam is designed for those who are very busy with work or can’t travel due to age or physical conditions, even Miss Joy from Fuchsia City took part in it in the animation.

If the Superpower User wished to participate in the Quartz Conference this year, passing the Pokémon Examination might be a good choice.

Baimu personally didn’t agree with this method.

After all, travel and even Gym Battles are beneficial for a Trainer’s growth, but the Superpower User seemed quite interested and even really started preparing.

[You decide to take the Pokémon Examination and start studying.]

It’s a crooked path...

Baimu thought, you only have one Drowzee in your hand, even if you pass the Pokémon Examination, how will you participate in the Quartz Conference? At least gather six Pokémon, right?

As if hearing his thoughts, the simulated scene of the Superpower User showed him trying to capture new Pokémon with Drowzee during his spare time, in addition to studying.

He really captured a—

[You captured a Staryu, adding a partner to the team.]

The Superpower User found Staryu by the riverbank, where it was sunbathing, oblivious, and got hit by Drowzee’s Illusion Beam right in the face, then struck by a Pokeball on its core gem.

The capture process could be described as smooth.

Having tasted success, the Superpower User immediately decided to capture a third Pokémon—it also had to be Psychic Attribute.

After all, Drowzee is a Psychic Attribute, and once Staryu evolves, it becomes a Psychic Attribute, so the third Pokémon must also be a Psychic Attribute.

[You want to capture an Abra, so during your free days, you ride the bus to different Pokémon Centers with a book in hand, collecting sightings of it.]

Once the Superpower User makes up his mind, he’s particularly diligent, and his perseverance is formidable. However, as fate would have it, Abra wasn’t spotted by him but instead he successfully encountered a Slowpoke.

Based on the principle that they are both Psychic-type Pokémon, after a fierce battle with it, the Superpower User captured it.

[You captured a Slowpoke, adding a Psychic Attribute partner.]
