Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 616: Chapter 437: Hall Master Goes OP!?

Bang bang bang!!

Dense smoke and dust rise amid the flickering of flames and thunder.

Skarmory, like a spinning fiery umbrella, disperses the Mawile charging straight at it with thunder in hand. It’s hard to imagine how it, as a steel giant bird, can so deftly spin with a single claw, and apply the Brave Bird Assault, typically used as an impact move, to such a degree.

The people inside and outside the arena hold their breath, concentrating intensely as they watch this scene.

”Ah!”

Only the harsh cry of Skarmory echoes throughout the venue along with the swirling wind sound, keeping company with the pitter-patter of the drizzle.

”Chido...”

The true Mawile is located on the side, seeing that it can’t break through this burning whirlwind, and under the gravity condition, it’s hard to leap above it for a punch, so it had to retreat for now.

The remaining phantom images disappear one by one in their successive attempts.

Logically, a gravity-affected venue should also impose restrictions on movement, not just on jumping, flying, and other actions.

In this case, it might be better described as an air prohibition rather than gravity.

As Mawile retreats, Skarmory, which has been spinning for god knows how many cycles, stops, slightly panting, while the rainwater causes visible white steam to rise from its body.

”It was defended?”

”It really was defended!”

”Miss Naqi is indeed impressive! When I saw those Mawiles rushing forward, I thought Skarmory was going to follow in Pelipper’s footsteps!”

The TV station staff discuss it in amazement, the director quietly lets out a sigh of relief.

Even though this battle won’t include too much footage, as a live spectator, he didn’t want the Gym Battle to end so simply—even though Baimu’s Pokémon seem very strong.

He understands that gravity plays a great role in causing this situation, too pinpoint an attack on flying attribute Pokémon, and too pointed against Naqi, who specializes in gauging wind direction.

”Sweet Scent!”

With the command, Mawile’s giant jaw aims forward, and pink mist quickly gushes out and rapidly expands toward Skarmory’s position.

In the animation, the most straightforward effect of this move is to dull the opponent’s reactions, perfect for dealing with the sharp reflexes of Skarmory.

Naqi doesn’t dare to slack off either, quickly shouting, ”Blow Away!”

”Ah!”

Skarmory steeling itself against the rushing pink mist, its iron-hooked sharp claws deeply embed into the ground, and its massive steel wings blossom open like a flower, with fresh red feathers glinting like swords, as it vigorously sweeps up a visible hurricane!

In an instant.

The gradually expanding pink mist in the air gets scattered, as the fierce wind sweeps the mist and rain towards Mawile dodging to the side.

Woo woo woo—

The sound of the wind is like a ghost’s wail, a creepy sobbing.

”Chido!”

Mawile fiercely jerks its giant jaw, adjusting its stance to block it, turning into a giant wall to prevent being blown away, but Skarmory’s Blow Away is fiercer than anticipated.

Its legs gradually lift off the ground.

Baimu furrows his brow, ”Pass the Baton!”

”Chido...”

Mawile fighting the furious wind forcefully extends a finger, a white light ignites atop it, subsequently enveloping its whole body, drawing it back to the Pokeball Baimu retrieved.

Another prepared Pokeball opens in its place.

The passive exchange of Blow Away and the active choice of Passing the Baton are different; the former randomly opens a Pokeball on Baimu, the latter allows a choice, a quite substantial difference.

Bam!

White light flashes.

Altered-color Milotic lands, its massive body stained with much of the mud on the ground.

Yet it does not impede its captivating beauty.

Under the dim light, its mottled golden scales radiate vivid colors, with a thin layer of sparkle seeming to coat its aquatic blue fin-like hair, which shines like stars under nearby illumination.

Naqi and Skarmory both dazed for a moment.

The cameras originally aimed at various parts of the arena uniformly focus on Milotic, the staff stop their discussions and even hold their breaths, with only the splattering sound of falling rain within the scene.

Unfortunately, the rain is gradually ceasing.

Since Pelipper lost its combat capability, the dark clouds have shown signs of dissipating, now after brewing for a while, the clouds are completely opened.

Bright sunlight returns to the earth.

To Naqi, this isn’t necessarily good or bad.

Though the absence of a rain curtain gives Skarmory an ”extra” weakness, it makes judging wind direction less convenient, but signifies gravity may be coming to an end.

She doesn’t believe gravity is a move with particularly long duration.

Need to keep delaying time!

”Air Slash!”

”Ah!”

Skarmory screeches hoarsely, with its scarlet steel wings continuously sending out half-transparent air blades in its flaps, creating terrifying shrills through the air.

”Release Ice Beam towards the ground!”

”Migo!”

Milotic takes a deep breath, ignoring the approaching wind blades, forming an ice-blue light orb in its mouth, releasing claw-like lightning which strikes the ground, the muddy field soaked with rain begins to freeze!

Crack crack crack—

Inan instant, frost covers the entire battlefield, even freezing Skarmory’s claws.

Simultaneously the wind blades approach.

Bam bam bam!

White smoke erupts on Milotic’s body, the pain of the slashing and attribute energy explosions bring forth a low call from it, yet it doesn’t hinder its ice coverage of the venue.

”Charge forward! Awakened Power!”

Baimu’s voice spurs Milotic to endure the pain brought by Air Slash, its thick tail twists fiercely, like a dragon quickly swimming towards Skarmory struggling frantically to pull its claws from the ice!
