Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 159: Chapter 156: Chaotic Momentum

Afternoon.

With the current manpower of the Quicksand Team, it’s difficult to even manage their own district.

Let alone send more people to deal with the uncertain situation in the Underground City.

If they don’t act quickly, the dark environment after sunset will be extremely deadly for those without professional rescue knowledge.

Therefore, utilizing available people became a necessity.

Baimu’s decision was undoubtedly bold and reckless, yet it was unavoidable.

The people under Liu Ge’s command work efficiently, but there are only about a hundred of them, and counting those lurking in the outskirts, it’s only a few hundred, which is completely inadequate.

Our own people are busy, busy to the point of exhaustion, making it easy for something to go wrong if we let the Evil Dog Team captives just watch.

It’s better to include their manpower too.

The official members can’t do it, but surely the general public can? This district is their home, after all.

Of course.

There’s another reason—a rescue operation carried out under the spirit of unity might awaken some people’s inner light.

People in other regions possess kindness; Baimu doesn’t believe that the Ore people living on the same planet differ much from them, only that social trends have influenced them.

Through one act of solidarity after another, helping them with small tasks and receiving gratitude, surely they will be morally satisfied.

Don’t underestimate this sense of moral satisfaction; accumulated over time, it can awaken the conscience of a bad person.

While it certainly can’t make up for the bad things they’ve done, it will cause some turmoil in their hearts. Of course, those determined to tread a dark path are excluded.

Baimu sometimes relies on this sense of satisfaction to carry on.

And after the other squad leaders learned of his approach, they raised both hands and feet in approval, while informing him of a call for help from the nearby Stone Team.

Clearly, they haven’t handled post-disaster management as well as they have.

Baimu was more concerned about another matter, ”What about the Underground City? Have we made contact?”

”Yes, although the contact is intermittent, we can confirm that the big brother and the others are safe and sound, just trapped, unable to come out for the time being.”

The person brought back reassuring news.

It seems that even the heavens want them to clear away the Ore’s gloom, sparing Liu Ge and them from an early demise.

After this incident, Liu Ge is likely no longer to recklessly place themselves in danger.

Why not stay outside like the three senior executives of the Quicksand Team, stay at the base?

”When will the support arrive?”

”Very soon, word is that Cang Zhilang has dispatched a large number of members from the outskirts.”

”What about the Jiama Team? They’re doing nothing? I saw they were only slightly affected.”

Faced with Baimu’s inquiry, the person regrettably shook their head, ”They said they’re temporarily overwhelmed, the earthquake collapsed their fuel storage, causing a severe fire situation.”

”Fire situation... ”

He glanced at the sky over the Jiama Team’s area, there wasn’t even a trace of black smoke, let alone firelight, not even faking it.

He knew it might be hard to rely on this defector.

Could it have been deliberate?

Hoping the main members of the Quicksand Team perish in Luo Qi’s Underground City?

It’s not impossible.

After all, if the elites of the Rockruff Three Form get overly depleted, the power of Jiama will inevitably become the strongest within the Quicksand Team, gaining favor from the boss upon joining.

Originally, their status might have been slightly below the likes of Cang Zhilang and the other three chief executives, but now they can at least stand on equal footing.

”I hope I’m overthinking it.”

Baimu said this, but in his heart, he clearly knew the possibility was high.

The nature of these Extreme Path bosses is full of machinations.

——

Near dusk.

The logistical support of Quicksand Team arrived, including but not limited to material and medical aid, and even brought in many large machines.

The outskirts members and hired citizens were immediately involved in the cleanup and rescue of the Underground City.

Only a minimal number of people were left to support three districts.

Baimu was not surprised, even pleasantly surprised that they could spare some people for them.

Thanks to this.

The district managed by the Sand Group was soon thoroughly cleaned, and the gratitude of the rescued, the spirited sight of united efforts, left the Evil Dog Team members and the public of the Evil Dog Team with extremely complex expressions.

They couldn’t tell where they were for a moment.

Hadn’t they been invaded by the Quicksand Team?

Why was the Quicksand Team rescuing people? Why were they also rescuing people? Why did everyone appear to be in a happy scene?

Some broke free from this false illusion and tried to escape or something, but were stopped by Otsuka, who was constantly on the watch.

Of course, these were just small interludes.

Then some people stayed to count casualties, some went to the other two districts to participate in the rescue, while the rest continued organizing to rescue the Underground City.

While the Quicksand Team was energetically working, the other forces in Pyrite Town were naturally not unaware.

When man-made disasters strike, they wouldn’t mind kicking someone when they’re down, biting a piece from the Quicksand Team. However, the situation of the Quicksand Team is still unclear, and what’s really happening in the Underground City, no one can say.

Therefore.

Most forces are waiting, looking for a good opportunity. Some forces decided to incite small organizations, verbally backing them, but in fact, wanting to use their strength to test the Quicksand Team.

These small organizations also understood the logic of fighting when necessary and rushed over heedlessly. They spoke nicely, claiming that the Evil Dog Team and Luo Qi Group owed them money and had harmed many of their people, coming to demand an explanation.

While demanding an explanation, they took advantage of the situation to profit.

However, they still had some smarts, knowing that they should target the weak ones first.

The district mainly handled by the Crystal Team was currently the most chaotic; they hadn’t yet secured the high ground and various key facilities, getting pulled into the mire of street fighting by the remaining dregs of the Luo Qi Group.

Such a ”useless” group naturally became the targets of these small organizations.

This also led to Baimu wanting to lend a hand in rescuing the Underground City, but instead receiving orders to go and assist the Crystal Team next door.

”Did you say that Cang Zhilang specifically named me to go? Did all the Crystal Team die?”

He looked at the Sand Group cadre before him, showing a suspicious expression, unable to fathom why Cang Zhilang would choose him, who had significant grievances with the Crystal Team, to rescue the Crystal Team.

Really?

Did you take a bribe from the Crystal Team?

The man, seemingly reading Baimu’s thoughts, had a black face and pulled out a command letter with Cang Zhilang’s personal seal, ”What do you mean by that expression, you brat? I’ve walked more roads than you’ve eaten flour! The boss is supporting you! Don’t you get it?”

If it weren’t for knowing that he had previously taken down a cadre and that he was favored in the eyes of the boss and leader, the person probably would have turned them down on the spot.

”Supporting me?”

Baimu was puzzled.

”Fool! If you go to support the Crystal Team and become their strongest substitute cadre, won’t you be able to control their temporary command? With temporary command, if you send your people there, won’t the district be under your control?”

The person boasted extravagantly about many unrelated things.

At first glance, it seemed reasonable, but at the moment, how could Baimu have the manpower to seize the dominant control of that district, Cheng Hong and the rest were already worn out, where’s the strength left?

Plant outer members there?

But Cang Zhilang’s order could not be ignored, so he nodded, ”Sorry, brother, I’ll buy you a drink when there’s time.”

”That’s more like it, I’ve heard you cook well, remember to prepare more good dishes.”

The person smiled broadly, burned the command slip, and turned to leave.

Baimu thought it over and had no choice but to find Otsuka, borrow some people from colleagues, and choose a few reliable and combat-worthy Evil Dog Team Members.

Finally, he gathered many peripheral members, forming a ”ragtag” army.

Once he’d gathered everyone he needed.

He mounted his hoverbike and set off in a grand procession towards the Crystal Team’s district next door.

But before he got close, he saw a bunch of people in the distance, their bodies emitting colorful fluorescence, riding hoverbikes decorated with neon lights.

They swept back and forth in the open space of the district, occasionally throwing Molotov cocktails or similar things into some run-down houses.

A loud boom was heard.

They immediately let out ugly ghost-like screeches, alongside various Pokémon, looking extremely in need of a beating.

The Crystal Team members were nowhere to be seen, who knows where they’d retreated to.
