Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 153: Chapter 150: In the Name of Greed (30/48)

Morning.

Baimu rubbed his somewhat dizzy head and got up to wash up.

Chansey had already gotten up early and prepared the ingredients for breakfast in the kitchen, making it easy for him to reach.

”Thank you.”

He softly said thanks, and as he cooked in the kitchen, he recalled the dream he had last night.

For someone like him, who is gradually shedding his illiterate identity, suddenly interpreting ancient texts and learning ancient script knowledge is indeed a bit challenging.

Tomorrow, switch to Smeargle’s drawing memories; it seems more interesting to draw.

Baimu divided the food and shouted into the house, ”Brothers and sisters, it’s time for breakfast! We have big plans today!”

As soon as he finished speaking.

Deino was the first to rush out of the bathroom, followed by Chansey, holding a toothbrush, who reluctantly gave up on the arduous mission of brushing the new partner’s teeth.

Mawile yawned and floated out of the room, its limbs hanging limply like a zombie.

”Lucky!”

Chansey blocked Mawile’s path.

The latter glanced drowsily and changed its direction to head into the bathroom.

Aggron, however, came in from outside, having gotten up early to water the trees and flowers. The dry soil and scorching Sun in Pyrite Town required its early efforts.

At the dining table.

Baimu rested his chin on his hand, reminiscing about his excitement from yesterday.

Three fixed rewards and three optional rewards; let’s not even talk about the level, the level cap of lv.70 had already accumulated ten levels.

And in terms of moves: [String Shot], [Feather Rest], [Strong Mental Will], and [Thunder].

[Thunder] can be learned by Aggron, but since it just learned [Surf], it’s really unnecessary to stuff any more moves into its mouth.

The important thing is the clues; with an excellent one used, there’s still one for a designated attribute and one for a designated Species Value — yes, Species Value!

If it weren’t for the fact that Divine Beasts, Phantom Beasts, and Ultimate Beasts were marked as unavailable, he would have chosen the highest one with his eyes closed, or the standard of a Second-level God’s 580 Species Value.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible.

So Baimu could only turn his attention to other Pokémon, like Quasi-God and the like.

With excitement and surprise, he realized that he couldn’t remember many Pokémon’s specific Species Values; everyone knows some Pokémon are really useful, but who knows what their Species Values are?

In a game, you could work backward based on Ability Values, but in an animated setting, there’s no such capability.

However.

This reward clue seems to have some advantages, such as being able to directly choose a high Species Value Pokémon. If you choose a Quasi-God with a Species Value of six hundred, you might directly obtain a Complete Form, skipping the long growth period.

Remember there weren’t many ordinary Pokémon left above five hundred twenty or five hundred thirty...

Baimu silently finished his breakfast, and after Aggron and the others finished their portions, he said, ”Like always today, I’m counting on you guys!”

”Gudo!” ”Chodo.” ”Lucky!”

Three voices chirped in unison.

Then all four faces turned to look at the confused Deino, who instinctively let out a cry.

”Moryu!”

”Great! Let’s get ready to head out!”

Baimu collected them all.

——

In the morning.

Baimu met up with Otsuka and the others alongside the Liu Ge Squadron.

After many days, seeing these Quicksand Team members, equipped and bearing extraordinary demeanors, stirred an inexplicable emotion within him.

”Kindred spirits...”

He murmured softly.

He had already learned from Flop’s mouth that there were interspersed international police among these Quicksand Team members, but they mainly came from various districts controlled by the Quicksand Team, originally peripheral members unwilling to suffer oppression.

With Liu Ge’s help, they gradually became official Quicksand Team members, accumulating strength to contribute to breaking through the haze of Pyrite Town.

In addition, there were many peripheral members as a backup force, including many grassroots civilians, among whom were civilians from Cyan Iridium Street.

When Baimu asked why he hadn’t heard a hint of this, Flop told him their conflict with Chaitian was too high-profile, and absorbing them would hinder their covert activities —

But in truth, they also had members from the Rescue Organization.

When Flop told Baimu that person’s name, the latter was quite surprised.

That person was the most honest and reticent among them. Although he failed the evaluation for becoming an official member, he hadn’t cut off communication, often being sought out by Cheng Hong and others for drinks.

Including other former buddies from before.

Unexpectedly, he had this layer of identity, perhaps deliberately keeping a low profile.

In moments of recollection.

Flop came over handing out headsets.

”You’re on a solo mission this time. I know you surely won’t act recklessly, but just in case, I must remind you: live long enough to fight another day.”

”Mm.”

Baimu nodded.

The previous mission had given Liu Ge a glimpse of his excellent performance, so this time there was no need for Flop to guide him.

Accordingly, he needed to devote more energy to directing Cheng Hong and the others.

”Baimu, after this mission, will you be promoted to a cadre?”

Otsuka’s voice came through the headset.

Baimu turned around and said, ”Not sure.”

”I think you definitely will! With so much territory to take over, someone needs to oversee it, right? It’s not like they’re going to hand it over to the likes of the Evil Dog Team; there must be a piece for you!”

Someone interjected, their tone brimming with envy.

”Alright, let’s not chatter, focus on changing the channel. This mission is not simple; things won’t go as smoothly as you think. Don’t get complacent just because their top force isn’t present; our opponents are still powerful mid-to-lower tier members.”

Baimu interrupted their chat, ”Let me say this beforehand: prioritize securing the territory. Don’t get stuck at the sight of money. There’ll be plenty for you after; understood?”

”Understood!”

The group responded softly.

In just a few days, it’s impossible to change a group’s mindset.

For Cheng Hong and the others who come from impoverished streets, money isn’t everything, but lacking it is unacceptable. Thinking a few words could give them the courage to challenge heaven is basically dreaming.

Therefore.

Baimu didn’t recklessly disclose everything upfront but planned to show them through practical actions what they should and shouldn’t do.

Soon after.

More than half of the Sand Group members gathered.

Like before, they wouldn’t deploy everyone to prevent any home invasions, but capturing territory assuredly meant massive inflows of money as long as they survived.

The danger comes with the opportunity, prompting many Sand Group members to rush into the raid battalion.

Those unable to enter could only watch enviously as others ran off to the Evil Dog Team’s territory to make money.

”You should feel lucky.”

Baimu sensed those gazes, clearly knowing this action was unlikely to end smoothly.

According to his expectations, it wasn’t impossible for the Quicksand Team to experience some sort of accident in this operation.

Especially the Stone Team and Crystal Team.

During the raid on the mining site last time, they suffered almost no damage, and their even larger size was bound to oppress the previously damaged Sand Group.

Thus resulting in internal chaos.

Especially Chester, ambitious as he was, wouldn’t miss any opportunity to target and weaken the Sand Group, even if temporarily suppressed by the boss.

Next was likely Liu Ge’s strategy.

Luring them with greed, trapping them in a pre-arranged snare.

”Let’s head out!”

Liu Ge’s voice came through the earpiece, and Baimu twisted the throttle, heading with his team toward the Evil Dog Team’s territory.
