Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

What if we go from the air?

But after carefully checking the distance, it was over a hundred meters, a distance simply impossible for them to throw a rope across.

This method was useless.

He could only say to Gan Hu, ”I don’t have any solution either, prepare to resist the Zombies.”

Gan Hu collapsed powerlessly onto the sofa; even Yao Zuo, whom his father valued, had no solution. It seemed like death was certain for them all.

The torrential rain continued, the floodwaters rose incessantly, and the water level kept climbing.

Gan Hu, who hadn’t slept in days, looked somewhat haggard.

.......

Western Alliance.

With the implementation of the human wave strategy, the Zombies did not breach the walls.

They were upstream of the dam and didn’t encounter the flood, otherwise with the height of their walls, they would have been overrun by Zombies long ago.

While the wall wasn’t breached, something happened that left Gan Xiong deeply frustrated.

Those forced onto the walls to resist the Zombies — slaves and some members who had defected in previous years — couldn’t take the relentless resistance against the Zombies and the scenes of innumerable comrades being devoured.

A rebellion broke out, but in the end, it was suppressed by Gan Long, Tian Sheng, and others wielding guns.

Their bullet supply was also limited, and nearly 300 people died in this uprising.

Along with the recent consumption from battles with the Zombies, almost all the slaves and defectors were dead.

Twenty-five days of resisting Zombie assaults, along with this rebellion, drastically reduced the Western Alliance’s numbers to only 2,200 people.

Most of these 2,000 were employees from Gan Xiong’s corporation and security personnel.

It could be said those bone ash slaves Gan Xiong sent to their deaths were gone, and now he could only rely on his own people against the Zombies.

These were all the most loyal to Gan Xiong.

He never imagined that at Doomsday’s outbreak, their population of tens of thousands would shrink to 5,000 by the second year.

And since the rain, it had sharply declined, now only a bit more than 2,000.

Without those bone ashes, now Gan Long and Tian Sheng and others were up on the wall fighting Zombies, extremely dangerous.

As time passed, every day Gan Xiong saw the battle reports, his heart bled.

This time, the rain was much heavier than ever and lasted a very long time.

Inside the base, there was already flooding, and people couldn’t walk on the ground at all.

The water level had reached nearly the height of a person.

This evening, though there wasn’t much difference between evening and night, the sky was black.

”Director Gan, in our base, the drainage issue must be resolved. If we don’t drain the water, our walls could easily collapse. If they collapse, we all...” Tian Sheng said to Gan Xiong.

Beside Gan Xiong, Old Zhuang heard Tian Sheng’s words and wanted to speak up to dissuade him. The issues these past few days were growing severe, Gan Xiong was seventy years old, and he hadn’t been resting well, now his body was quite exhausted.

But he chose silence, knowing the boss was in a bad mood, and giving hasty advice when someone’s in a bad mood could easily lead to harm.

Gan Xiong rubbed his temples and said, ”Earlier, Wayne also mentioned this to me, but how to drain it? If we drain from the ground by making one or two small holes in the wall, it won’t help much, and Zombies could easily crawl through those holes.”

Hearing this, Tian Sheng immediately said, ”Boss, you don’t have to worry about that. When the rainwater in the base is drained, it’s with water pressure, and the Zombies would be swept out, unlikely to crawl back in.”

Gan Xiong thought for a moment and said, ”Wayne provided an idea, just open the main gate instead, instead of making holes in the wall.”

Tian Sheng paused and said, ”It’s worth a try.”

”Have you considered, if we open the main gate to drain the water, and if the rain eases, what if Zombies seize the moment to rush in?” Gan Xiong said helplessly.

Tian Sheng said gravely, ”Director Gan, our walls truly can’t hold out much longer. Today I saw the west wall, the one that previously collapsed, is already showing cracks, seemingly about to collapse again.”

Gan Xiong looked grim, never imagining the situation had become this dire, and frowned, saying, ”Opening the main gate is fine, but we must plan how to address Zombies rushing in.

In that case, push a few large trucks present in the base to the gate. Once the floodwater is cleared, quickly block with the trucks, creating a second layer of defense, and immediately close the main gate.

Oh right, let’s do this, make three layers of iron bars on the main gate now too.”

The more Gan Xiong spoke, the brighter his eyes became.

He continued, ”First, make those three layers of iron bars set behind the main gate. At that time, open the gate; even if Zombies attempt to crawl in, they’ll be blocked by iron bars and swept by the water flow, so we should give it a try.”

Hearing Gan Xiong’s proposal, both Old Zhuang and Tian Sheng brightened up, considering it a good suggestion.

Tian Sheng, somewhat excited, said, ”Boss, I’ll make arrangements immediately.”

Gan Xiong nodded and said, ”Go quickly, get this matter sorted as soon as possible.”

Tian Sheng immediately replied, ”Yes, boss, I guarantee the task will be completed.”

After speaking, he quickly left the building.

Due to severe flooding, they were now using some self-made small boats as a means to travel within the base.
