Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1025: Chapter 684: The Great River Flows Eastward!

After Li Yu had his fill, he put on water shoes and first went to check the drainage outlet.

Then, he went up to the base’s wall.

Third Uncle was not there, but Second Uncle and Uncle were both present, along with some other people from the Inner City, as well as He Chao and Old Qin and two or three others.

Li Yu walked in, and everyone greeted him.

He waved his hand, sat down, and looked at the surveillance screens, asking, ”What’s the situation now?”

Second Uncle saw Li Yu looking spirited, knowing that he had rested well. Li Yu was now the core soul of the base, and if anything happened to his health, it would significantly affect the base.

Looking at Li Yu, Second Uncle pointed to the surveillance screen and began to speak slowly, ”Through the cameras we placed outside the base, the highway was already submerged this morning, with water approximately two meters deep....”

Rumble——

A flash of lightning streaked across the sky.

The surveillance screen instantly brightened, clearly showing the scene on the screen.

Li Yu looked toward where Second Uncle pointed; it was exactly the camera placed on a utility pole at the intersection of the highway and the country road.

Looking at the surveillance screen, one could see a vast expanse of water.

There were some houses on both sides of the highway, built quite early, and as the highway would be periodically repaired and elevated every few years, this led to a situation where the original not-so-low houses now had foundations lower than the highway. Some houses on both sides of the highway were more than two meters lower.

A three-story house was now submerged in the flood, with only the top floor remaining.

Everywhere there was water, houses submerged in water.

After the thunder, Second Uncle’s voice continued in his ear, ”The country road is slightly higher in terrain; the first half was submerged, but it hasn’t reached us yet.

Moreover, in the past few days, the number of zombies has been increasing, preliminarily estimated to exceed 80,000, scattered in all directions of the wall. Of course, since zombies primarily come from the main entrance, the quantity there is the highest.

The lowest-level mobile switch blade was activated in the past few days, successfully blocking the zombies, and due to the zombies’ cannibalistic nature, the resistance pressure was alleviated.

So far, it remains a relatively safe state for us.....”

Second Uncle briefly explained the situation to Li Yu after he returned to the base to rest.

Li Yu nodded and said, ”Yes, yes, thanks for your hard work, Second Uncle.”

Second Uncle waved his hand and then walked out from the duty room; he needed to go out and check the situation.

Li Yu saw Li Hang sitting at the side and asked, ”The water pumps, have they all been found?”

Faced with his big brother’s question, Li Hang said, ”All found, a total of forty units, ready to be used at any time. The dragon suction pump’s extraction rate is incredible, but, bro, we probably won’t need these pumps now. The drainage can already expel all the water from our base. Isn’t it unnecessary?”

Li Yu looked at him and said seriously, ”Preparedness ensures success, unpreparedness spells failure. If we don’t clean the sewers in advance, the base might flood. With this heavy rain, if we don’t make the worst preparations now, what if the situation gets bad?”

He patiently continued, ”Xiao Hang, remember in the future, always prepare for the worst. In the Doomsday, carelessness will cost lives, so don’t ever have any illusions.”

In the duty room, there were also Old Qin and He Chao, among others. Hearing Li Yu speak to Li Hang, they looked at him with some appreciation.

Old Qin was even more so, as Third Uncle’s comrade, Li Yu respected him greatly, usually calling him Uncle Qin.

He couldn’t help but feel: Truly a figure who can lead everyone and build such a stable and strong base in the Doomsday.

He Chao felt even simpler: Truly the leader I followed, worthy of following!

Li Yu had always had a strong sense of crisis.

Li Hang, after hearing Li Yu’s patient advice, nodded seriously and said, ”I understand, I’ll remember.”

”Good.” Li Yu nodded and then communicated with everyone about base defense issues.

........

To the west, the Tanggula Mountain, the water flows rapidly, continuously converging downstream.

Many areas in the forests on both sides upstream of the dam have already been submerged.

The wide lake surface, with surging waves, feels as if one is in the ocean.

The fierce wind stirs the lake water, rushing downstream.

Upstream, the trace of the dam is completely gone, the dam thoroughly submerged.

The dam was built extremely solidly, so it wasn’t broken by the floodwaters.

But even so, the water level has broken through 250 meters.

A whole 70 meters higher than the dam.

This torrent rushed over the dam as if over a slightly higher barrier, then surged downstream.

A deluge of floods.

The height of heaven and earth is also infinitely shortened, as if you could touch the sky with an outstretched hand.

The crashing waves beat the shore, flowing violently downstream, wherever it passed, lower houses were directly swept away by the massive water force, scattered.

Even some taller buildings, with foundations not solidified before the Doomsday, shoddy construction, collapsed upon impact.

Several dozen meters high buildings, under the impact of the flood, due to poor quality, crashed down with a roar.
