Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1748: Chapter 1749: She Hides Too Many Secrets

The Cheng family also has business in the Capital. Cheng Yaozu went to see Cheng Su first, then flew to the Capital, inspected his own properties, and then went to chat with Ning Ge about their business cooperation.

Real estate development has been slowly progressing, and with connections in place, Ning Ge and his team have seized all resource advantages, so the business has been developing smoothly.

The two sat on the sofa, each holding a glass of red wine. With a clink, they toasted and took a sip.

”Your office is nice. I should get one like this,” Cheng Yaozu praised as he glanced around Ning Ge’s office.

It’s both an office and a place to gather with friends. There’s even a small golf area; this guy is too extravagant.

Ning Ge shrugged indifferently.

”By the way, there’s something I want to tell you,” Cheng Yaozu remembered Cheng Su and put down his wine glass.

”What is it?” Ning Ge swirled his wine glass, took a small piece of cheese, and asked.

Cheng Yaozu hesitated a bit, pursed his lips, and said, ”It’s about Cheng Su.”

”Hmm?” Ning Ge sat up a little straighter, it’s about Cheng Su? What is it?

”A long time ago, she asked me to help her find someone...” Cheng Yaozu recounted what Cheng Su had asked him to do and shared the information he had gathered.

Ning Ge put down his wine glass and said, ”Is it a killer?”

What’s going on? Why would Cheng Su look for such a person?

”It’s not yet confirmed if it is; she said the orphanage director had seen him, need to confirm with her,” Cheng Yaozu said. ”I always thought she was a bit odd; even if it’s an orphan she’s fostering, she’s too anxious!”

Ning Ge thought about when Cheng Su mentioned bringing warmth to the orphanage in Guangcheng years ago and said, ”Perhaps she really did foster a child; a couple of years ago she also visited the orphanage!”

”But, don’t you think...” Cheng Yaozu paused.

Ning Ge gave him a sideways glance and said, ”Just say what you have to; no need to beat around the bush, it’s not like you!”

Cheng Yaozu took a sip of wine and asked, ”Don’t you feel Cheng Su has a bit of mystery about her? I feel she carries many secrets.” He added, ”Of course, this might just be my illusion. Women’s hearts are like needles at the bottom of the ocean; understanding them is difficult.”

Ning Ge swirled his wine glass and said, ”She is a bit peculiar.”

”Oh?” Cheng Yaozu got interested and asked, ”What, you also have that feeling?”

Ning Ge said, ”She’s a bit too magical, for instance in business, buying land, don’t you find her foresight extremely accurate?”

”Exactly, I’ve been wanting to say this. Yet she still claims she can foresee, tsk,” Cheng Yaozu rolled his eyes.

”Foresee.”

The two exchanged a glance.

”Impossible, no way!” Cheng Yaozu said without thinking and waved his hand. ”In this era, feudal superstitions are long out of fashion; I don’t believe in weird things.”

Ning Ge chuckled and said, ”Did I say I believed it?”

How come this girl is so mysterious?

”Enough about that. Some people are naturally perceptive; she’s smart and might just be born with such good luck,” Cheng Yaozu said. ”Let’s talk about the person she’s looking for; if we find him and he turns out to be just an ordinary person, that’s fine. But given his identity... Do you know she wants me to dig deeper into his information, as if she’s determined to find this person!”

Ning Ge listened and frowned slightly, is this person so important to her? Just because he’s a foster parent?
