Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1745: Chapter 1746: Good and Bad News

Knowing that Luh Kai’s son is called Luh Wei, based on past life feelings, Cheng Su paid him more attention. Previously, the two were just business partners, and could be considered friends, but usually would not meet frequently.

But ever since knowing the child’s name, Cheng Su would occasionally call the Luh Family and during free time or weekends, would invite Xie Minyi to bring the children out for shopping or tea.

Xie Minyi found it very strange, how Cheng Su suddenly became so enthusiastic after meeting her son.

She mentioned this oddity to her husband and jokingly said, ”If our Wei was a girl, I could imagine she wanted to arrange a marriage, but Wei is a boy!”

Luh Kai recalled the scene when he first met Cheng Su and laughed, ”Maybe it’s destiny. When people see eye to eye, they hit it off; it’s not surprising. Besides, it’s good for kids around the same age to interact more, having another playmate!”

Indeed, and Qi Taiguo is a battalion commander!

Son getting to know the Qi family, having more friends, will also have more pathways in the future, it’s great.

With this thought, Xie Minyi was also very willing to meet Cheng Su often, bringing the children, which brought the two families closer.

...

During especially calm days, when Cheng Yaozu came from Guangcheng to Qing City, he brought Cheng Su two pieces of news, one good and one bad.

”Which one do you want to hear first?”

Already familiar with this brother’s rogue nature, Cheng Su was not surprised and said, ”Let’s hear the good news first, I might not be able to handle the bad news!”

”Most people hear the bad first, then the good as consolation, but you go against the grain.” Cheng Yaozu clicked his tongue.

Cheng Su said, ”That’s self-deception. Bad is bad, can’t just ignore it, right?”

”Okay, listen up, you’re going to be an aunt!” Cheng Yaozu jumped up.

Cheng Su let out an ”oh” and then exclaimed, ”Xiao Ya is pregnant?”

Cheng Yaozu nodded excitedly and said, ”She is. More than a month along, you’ll be an aunt next year, get ready with the gifts!”

Cheng Su was very happy and asked, ”How’s the pregnancy going? Is she eating well?”

Ying Xiaoya isn’t young anymore, it’s about time to have a child, she’s happy for her now that she is pregnant.

”Everything’s fine, the baby is very well-behaved. I bet it’s a girl.” Cheng Yaozu said while rubbing his palms.

Cheng Su teased him on purpose, ”A girl, huh? This is trouble, your family is big, and many boys are never enough, otherwise such a large estate, who will inherit it?”

Cheng Yaozu heard this, looked at her with disdain, and said, ”It’s a shame you’re a college student, a new generation youth, with such shallow thoughts, still favoring sons over daughters. What’s wrong with daughters? Can’t they inherit? Let me tell you, if my daughter is born, I’ll give her the best, everything I have. If it’s a son, then he’ll have to earn it himself. Why? Because boys should strive themselves, girls are different, it’s too exhausting to strive, they should inherit.”

Cheng Su laughed heartily and said, ”Hearing you say that, I envy your daughter!”

”Of course.” Cheng Yaozu said, ”Once my daughter is born, keep an eye on your son, don’t let him get any ideas about my girl!” Saying that, he gave a threatening look to Qi Xiaoqi sitting on the sofa playing.

Qi Xiaoqi heard him, glanced at him, the look almost saying ”moron!”

Cheng Su laughed heartily and said, ”Let’s talk when your daughter is born, no getting ideas about her, really!” Then she asked, ”What’s the bad news?”
