Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1746: Chapter 1747: Who Is the Killer to Her?

What’s the bad news? Cheng Yaozu said it, leaving Cheng Su stunned.

He was talking about the person she had asked him to investigate, the one who visited Little Cheng Su. They found the information, but the person’s identity was shocking.

A hitman.

”This, how could it be...” Cheng Su’s heart was pounding as she took the documents Cheng Yaozu handed over and opened them.

A photo, a dossier, with brief details about the person, named Mi Shaoan. He had served in the military but was discharged for fighting and brawling, later becoming a professional hitman.

”If your sketch is accurate, this is the person!” Cheng Yaozu looked at Cheng Su’s expression and said, ”It’s quite challenging to find someone based solely on a hand-drawn sketch. Although your drawing is good, it’s not as precise as a real person or a photo. There could be discrepancies, so it’s uncertain. But if we match your drawing, this is the only person it could be.”

Cheng Su looked at the man’s defiant and somber eyebrows in the photo. She mentally compared them to the portrait described by the orphanage director, finding they matched closely, but she couldn’t be sure.

To confirm if it’s really him, she’d have to take it to the director for verification.

”Is he really a hitman? Could there be a mistake?” Cheng Su looked away and asked Cheng Yaozu.

If this Mi dude is a hitman, what’s his relationship with Little Cheng Su?

Her father? Or someone else?

She couldn’t help but speculate that due to his inconvenient identity, he couldn’t raise a child, so he sent her to the orphanage yet couldn’t resist coming to see her.

A father who is a hitman...

This possibility sent a cold sweat down Cheng Su’s back, and her throat felt dry and itchy.

Cheng Yaozu said, ”The data was found on the black market, it should be accurate. The black market has its own sources, and many people make a living there.”

”A hitman, do we really have such people here?” Cheng Su’s voice was hoarse.

In a law-abiding society, how can such people exist? Murder leads to the death penalty!

Cheng Yaozu chuckled, ”People who live on the edge can be found anywhere. They just can’t be seen in the light. The world is a strange place, let alone professions?”

Cheng Su forced a smile. She thought such professions only appeared in TV shows or movies!

”So, it’s just this person? There are many similar-looking people in the world; could there be someone else who looks like this?” Cheng Su asked urgently.

Cheng Yaozu smiled at her.

Cheng Su realized her reaction was odd and mumbled, ”I just can’t believe it.”

”Xiao Su, does this person have anything to do with you?” Cheng Yaozu asked again, ”Don’t brush it off, his profession is a hitman.”

Cheng Su gave a wry smile, ”I’m not brushing it off; it really has nothing to do with me. It’s for an orphan I support.”

Seeing her sincere expression, Cheng Yaozu said, ”If that’s the case, take this photo to confirm with whoever you talked to!”

Cheng Su nodded and said, ”Can you dig more into his affairs? Whether he’s married with children? Or if he’s committed any crimes?”

Knowing a bit more detail would help determine what relationship he has with Little Cheng Su.

”I’ll try,” Cheng Yaozu said, ”But don’t get your hopes up. Generally, people like this are very secretive; it might not be possible to find out.”

Cheng Su forced a small smile, acknowledging that hitmen often commit their deeds in complete secrecy, leaving no trace.

She glanced back at the photo, slightly dazed. Who exactly is he to her?
