Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1731: Chapter 1732: Second Stroke

Receiving a call from Deng Weiqiu, saying that Aunt had another stroke and was now in the hospital being rescued, Cheng Su and the others were stunned.

Cheng Su and Liu Wenjing rushed to the hospital, and as soon as they arrived at the emergency room, they saw Deng Weiqiu at the door. No one knew what the doctor said, but she suddenly burst into tears.

Liu Wenjing’s face changed drastically upon seeing this, her legs buckled, and she nearly fell to the ground.

With quick reflexes, Cheng Su grabbed her and said, ”Hold on.”

”Sister-in-law, could it be, she, she...” Liu Wenjing said with a pale face, trembling lips, nearly uttering the word ’death.’

She dared not say it; if her mother-in-law really died, would she become a sinner? Because she argued with her mother-in-law, would it be because of that anger?

”Don’t talk nonsense, let’s hear what the doctor has to say first.” Cheng Su saw her getting dizzy with anxiety and pinched her thumb forcefully, the pain made Liu Wenjing a bit more clear-headed and alert.

Walking over, Deng Weiqiu saw them and cried even harder.

”Doctor, how is the person inside?” Cheng Su asked the doctor.

The doctor looked at them and said, ”The patient had a stroke before, right? This time, it’s cerebral hemorrhage. Surgery was done and she was resuscitated, but due to the delay in emergency treatment, and more importantly, it’s her second stroke. Her condition is quite serious. Specifically, we’ll have to wait until the patient wakes up, but based on all indicators, she is likely to have hemiplegia and unclear speech or aphasia; you must be mentally prepared.”

This time Liu Wenjing truly collapsed, sliding down the wall to the ground.

Deng Weixia also received the news and rushed over, just in time to hear this, and her face changed drastically.

The doctor gave a few instructions and left.

”What happened? Did you discover it? How did she suddenly pass out?” Cheng Su asked Deng Weiqiu.

Deng Weiqiu wiped her tears and, crying, explained how she received Aunt’s call, rushed over, and what she said, ”I didn’t say anything harsh; she drove me away, so I left. Later, Gou Sheng ran out to find me, only then did I know.” She said, crying again.

Deng Weixia leaned against the bed in low spirits, just like Liu Wenjing, sliding to the floor, suddenly pounding her head fiercely and said, ”It’s all my fault, it’s my fault. If I hadn’t argued with her, she might not have been so angry. It’s all my fault; I’m a bastard.”

Liu Wenjing cried as she pulled her hand away, saying, ”You’re killing me; if you want to blame, blame me. Why beat yourself? If I hadn’t argued with her and left, this wouldn’t happen. I should have been more tolerant of her.”

The couple hugged and cried painfully.

Cheng Su’s head was throbbing with pain as she scolded, ”Stop crying, all of you.”

”This is an illness, an accident; none of us could have foreseen her sudden onset. What use is crying? If you really have a knack for crying, why not use it to discuss what to do?” Cheng Su said irritably, ”If you have the ability to cry, you might as well talk about what needs to be done now.”

Everyone looked at her, their eyes filled with hope and reliance.

They lacked such experience in handling matters, and now that such a sudden major event occurred, they truly did not know what to do.

Cheng Su saw those eyes and got even more annoyed; what did it have to do with her? She really just wanted to walk away, what business was it of hers?

But out of humanitarianism and familial ties, she bit her lip and said, ”Find a place to sit down; let’s discuss it!”

She turned around and walked out, suddenly thinking of that saying, why have a second child, because if anything happens to the elderly, everyone can decide whether or not to pull the plug.

Though it’s not exactly like that now, how is this scene any different? You always need more people to discuss.

Alas, no wonder families never resent having too many sons and grandsons; the more people there are, the easier it is to handle things!
