Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1729: Chapter 1730: Forsaken by All

Because she had a big quarrel with her son, Auntie didn’t sleep all night. When she heard Deng Weixia get up to go to work, she got up as well, hastily cooked something for herself and Gou Sheng. She couldn’t hold back her anger and wanted to go out to call her own sister, Mother Qi, and her daughter.

Now Deng Weixia had already been won over by that bitch Liu Wenjing, and even said no to his own mother. She needed to find an ally.

Auntie first called Mother Qi, and began to cry while speaking, scolding so loudly that even the owner of the small shop gave her a few looks.

On the other end of the phone, Mother Qi listened with a furrowed brow.

”You don’t know, he’s got such a slick tongue now. I’ve never seen him like this. I don’t know who taught him. He came back from your daughter-in-law’s place spouting a bunch of reasoning.” Auntie said, already suspecting Cheng Su.

Mother Qi was no fool and immediately heard the implication in her words.

Just by listening, she could tell that the elder sister was being unreasonable. With things like this, why still mess with Liu Wenjing?

”Elder sister, Weixia is also right. You shouldn’t keep thinking about how things were with them in the past. They’ve already had a child, and what’s done is done. What else can happen? Everyone should just live peacefully together. You can definitely make life work.” Mother Qi advised.

Auntie felt displeased: ”Even you are siding with them?”

”I’m not siding with them; I’m just thinking from your perspective. You see, Weiqiu has already gotten married. What are you still worried about? Don’t you rely on them for your retirement? If you keep arguing like this and they really don’t care about you like Weixia said, what will you do then? Rely on Weiqiu? She has her own family too!” It was rare for Mother Qi to see things clearly.

”I know, you just can’t stand me. Clearly, it’s their fault.”

”Elder sister, let’s not talk about who’s right or wrong, just look at now, just look at the future. Elder sister, whoever is weaker has to lower their head. Can you outlive the younger generation? How many good years do we have left!”

Auntie listened to the ’advice’ in Mother Qi’s words, only finding it unbearably harsh. She sought an ally but instead found an opponent, feeling only more depressed and irritated.

”You’re also someone who can’t be relied on, always siding with outsiders. I’m hanging up.” Auntie angrily hung up the phone and called her daughter.

Deng Weiqiu arrived soon after; once the mess hall in the army finished at noon, she took a bus over.

As she had said with Mother Qi, Auntie vented her grievances, but Deng Weiqiu’s expression was somewhat nuanced.

She wasn’t unaware that during her dowry preparations, her brother and sister-in-law had exhausted their resources and even borrowed money. She felt quite guilty about it.

”Mom, don’t talk about second brother and them anymore. It’s not pleasant to say, and it also hurts emotions. They’ve even had Er Bao, so what else can be done? I’m married, and Mom, you also have to rely on them. We live in Qing City now, not back in our hometown; no one even knows about their matters. Mom, you see...”

Deng Weiqiu spoke while cautiously watching her mother’s face, and when she saw her expression darken, she didn’t dare continue.

”So you’ve married and don’t care about Mom anymore, right? You’re also siding with them, thinking I’m wrong, right?” Auntie said with a dark face.

”Mom, that’s not what I mean!”

”Don’t call me Mom. You’ve married off and are like water that’s been spilled. You don’t care if I live or die!” Hearing her daughter speak like this, Auntie felt a sense of betrayal, angrily pushing her: ”Go, just go.”

”Mom, look at you, always like this, Mom...” Deng Weiqiu was pushed out the door by her mother, and with a loud bang, the door closed, nearly hitting her nose. She called out a few times, but the door didn’t open, leaving her to walk away indignantly.
