Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

In order to assist with the upcoming operation, the AI known as ”Nine-Life Cat Demon” was upgraded, allowing it to manifest physically and drive magic to some extent.

This change was originally intended to prevent magic power leakage in case of malfunction.

But due to the outstanding performance during the Nine-Life Cat Demon’s drill, it gradually acquired more functions, even participating in the construction of magic. Physical manifestation became a customary state for the Nine-Life Cat Demon.

Incidentally, the reason why the Nine-Life Cat Demon appears as a cat is purely because its developer liked cats as creatures, without any special significance.

Fengte once suggested setting the Nine-Life Cat Demon’s physical form as a more agile primate, but he was firmly rebuffed by the developer: ”Wherever the Nine-Life Cat Demon exists, is generally a place where magic power gathers. In those places, one can accomplish most tasks with magic, so there’s no need to specifically make it a primate. Besides, many magics now are developed on the premise of the cat form, changing the appearance halfway means everything has to be redone from scratch.”

Considering the imminent battle, Fengte did not insist and continued busying himself with other matters.

Ever since then, the diary contains less and less descriptions of technological progress, with some principles that even Fengte couldn’t understand being mentioned in passing.

This doesn’t mean technology has stalled; rather, it’s because magic power has advanced too rapidly.

After completing basic education, the exceptional can undergo a series of assessments and then transfer the accumulated knowledge of predecessors into their brains.

Entering new knowledge, correcting errors, usually inputted by computers, rarely manually.

Generally, in one’s lifetime, there’s only one opportunity to acquire vast amounts of knowledge from ”Luka” machines. Thereafter, they must keep up with times using their own memory to master and understand new knowledge.

This is partly to prevent some from overly relying on Luka’s knowledge and losing the ability to think independently; and partly to conserve resources and cultivate more individuals who can inherit vast knowledge to benefit society.

The low-hanging technological fruits are gradually picked, and researchers need little new knowledge each year.

But, as magic power research deepens, the past human accumulation has triggered significant technological explosions in magic power research, with annual new knowledge growing explosively.

Like Fengte, personnel busy maintaining societal stability naturally don’t have the time or opportunity to understand this knowledge.

However, he no longer needs to understand this knowledge.

Fengte decided to join the battle against the Twelve Angels and the goddess, thus accepting a semi-modification.

Leaving behind the words ”By the time I awaken, all preparations complete, we shall certainly achieve victory.”

The diary dates, thereafter, skipped a long period.

Not just years, but nearly a century...

As the All-knowing Queen was about to narrate the subsequent stories, Yang Yu called a halt to the All-knowing Queen and took a sip of hot cocoa.

The others followed suit, taking a sip of hot cocoa.

Organizing his thoughts, Yang Yu asked:

”The planet where ancient humans took refuge, is that the place which later became known as the Demon World?

Surprisingly, it’s very close to us.

Now you also possess physical forms.

Housing physical forms requires large space...

I wonder, where does the Nine-Life Cat Demon live now?

This is my instinct.

The diary contains no knowledge on this aspect.

The protagonist’s mindset changed, gradually becoming less concerned with technological development.

Instead, focusing attention on the battle with the Twelve Angels.

”

”With one question, you raise two heavyweight queries.

One must say your intuition is remarkably sharp.

The answer to your first question will be penned later in the diary, indeed, that place will become the Demon World in the future.

The reason it becomes the Demon World might not align with your imagination.

The diary later indeed rarely mentions our subsequent progress.

Let me briefly tell you how we grew to today’s extent.”

The All-knowing Queen paused, then resumed speaking.

The Nine-Life Cat Demon, due to combat needs, was granted one complex function after another, among which the most special include Storage Magic and labyrinth construction technology.

Humans wishing to launch a surprise attack against angels, must hide weapons in places invisible to angels.

Coincidentally, the miniaturization breakthrough of Folding Jump Technology occurred, thus integrating the technology with the Nine-Life Cat Demon.

Unfortunately, the miniaturized technology’s usable distance is short. To deliver weapons immediately to combat soldiers, countless smaller Nine-Life Cat Demons were created, buried underground along with devices.

In the Maze Technology Department, the Nine-Life Cat Demon is used to create intricate underground mazes.

The Nine-Life Cat Demon, with higher computing power, can perfectly apply magic power to every corner of the maze, achieving numerous unique functions.

The two technologies intertwine, planting the Nine-Life Cat Demon deeper underground.

Like an earthworm, it opens up countless conduits, forming enormous vacuum caves at certain points.

No need to worry about geological movements affecting the Nine-Life Cat Demon, it’s the crystallized wisdom of countless humans, with many solutions.

”Wait, are many underground mazes currently all constructed by you?” Bai Jin asked curiously.

”Mostly, but there are exceptions. However, even if others construct underground mazes, it must be assisted by us.” The All-knowing Queen said, ”Incidentally, some excavated dirt. We process it and send it back to the surface with the effect of ’Earth Magic’ after processing.”

Li Yan stroked his beard, feeling he’s learned some astonishing knowledge.

The All-knowing Queen continued:

”In past wars, the Nine-Life Cat Demon’s technology matured further.

Together with the magic barrier circling this planet, it became part of this Magic World.

Why did this world become like this? My memory is profoundly vivid.

This is a lengthy topic.

After interpreting this diary, I’ll recount it to you leisurely.”

Yang Yu nodded.

The All-knowing Queen continued elucidating the subsequent content to Yang Yu.

Flipping through two or three blank pages, awaiting Yang Yu was a lengthy memoir.

Nearly a century later, Fengte wrote at the beginning of the new chapter:

”We succeeded, yet also failed.

I thought I’d die in the final battle, yet survived.

Truly, emotions are many.

But I feel no joy now.

Originally thought the Goddess Sect was thoroughly eradicated, but instead, it was just accumulating strength in dormancy.

When we failed, they possessed many of our Magic Weapons, colluding with wingless angels.

The Luka Sect also split into three factions: Luka Fundamentalism, Conservative Lukaism, and New Lukaism...

Hundreds of years extinguished internecine wars resumed once more...

Or perhaps, they had begun long ago.”
